My string trimmer had a broken choke lever, had power mower order the small plastic part, almost $18 dollars. They ordered the wrong part. They did not try to find the right part to repair the machine, or just admit honestly that they couldn't repair it. What the "mechanic" did instead is GLUE a broken lever found somewhere in their junk pile to my broken choke lever. Then they tried to pass it off as a completed repair. They tried to charge me for the incorrect part that they mis-ordered. The GLUE fell apart as soon as I actuated the lever to open the choke valve. Asked for a refund and they only refunded the incorrect part cost. Asked for the rest to be refunded and they didn't refund the tax. Had to ask AGAIN to get the tax refunded. Don't lose that bottle of GLUE guys, you're going to need it to hold you business together. read more

I have a 3 year old briggs and stratton pressure washer that i bought new from Lowes. These guys have Adjusted the carb 3 times now. So i bought a briggs carb that was brand new and replaced the original. Still did not run. Then 4th time he said it was not his briggs carb and i had to buy one from him for 90.00, then he would give me a 6 week warranty on the work. Needless to say, it does not run again. Ive had Hotsy pressure wasers and others for 40 years. I know how they run. I will never go back for maintenance. Also by the way when they sharpened my mover the mechanic ran a 4" grinder on the blade 2 times. Total of 30 seconds. Thought they would actually have a blade sharpener, so beware. I have been a loyal customer of theirs for over 20 years. Sad. I gave the pressure washer away with less then 5 hours on it. read more

Gave them a call to see if they stocked parts for my Toro. Young man who answered was great So I stopped by a competitor. His location is very close to my home. The guy was an idiot tried to sell me stuff that I would have to modify my machine to make work. A power mower call spoke to young man on the phone. He asked the right questions said he had the parts in stock. I arrive 15 minutes later got everything I needed as well as information. They have been around for a long time so they must be doing something right. I got a practically brand new Troy Built 21 inch lawn mower for a song and a dance. Had a new carburetor installed on an Echo trimmed and also had the blades on an Echo head trimmer sharpened. Fast turn around time and reasonable prices. read more

Have used these guys for years for all my power garden tools and they have never let me down! Recently turned in an old Craftsman mower that I have abused for years and finally quit working (would not start), Got it back within their given time frame, took it home to tackle almost 4' of overgrown grass and weeds. These guys are the absolute best! They can fix any yard type equipment. Mowers, trimmers, chain saws...anything! Even really old stuff! They may take awhile as they are always busy but so well worth it. And their prices are very reasonable. Absolutely love these guys. Do yourself a favor and try some where else. These guys are not reliable. Took my 2 year old craftsman in back in January because it was not starting and self drive was not working. They replaced the carburetor, belt, and they took it upon themselves to also replace the blade (this point I feel like they were just tying to get the most out of me as I could have done this myself and don't think blade needed replacing)....Whatever...got the mower back. It worked three times afterwards. Come May, my mower doesn't start again. Took it back and don't hear from them for over a month until I called. They say it's the carburetor and charge me another $70. They say if mower sits for a long time, this is normal. My mower was not sitting long enough and it was empty of gas while it was sitting, so something isn't right with this. Either these guys are liars and not replacing with new parts, or they just aren't competent. Could have just gotten a new lawn mower by the time these guys were done with me. read more

Brought my riding mower in to see if they can fix it. They called me back a week later and said your mower is fixed. So I came in the next day to pick it up, they rolled my riding mower out. I noticed my hood had a hole through it, 5" by 14". They try to say that my hood was Sun rotten, I disagree. I remove the hood numerous times and never had any problems. They had to hit it so hard to punch a 5" by 14" hole. The worst part was the owner would not own up to it. From on then I never let anybody touch my riding mower again. I YouTube the problem and fix myself, and save a lot of money. Before I took it to power mower, I did a little research on them, 3 stars. They were good and bad reviews about them. I thought I give them a chance, boy I was wrong. So I looked in to more of the reviews and their were so many complaints. I usually never write a review, but had to this time. I am NOT a professional or a landscape contractor... I do however own a small ranch w 7 machines that have all been regularly serviced by Power Mower over the last 6 years or so. Power Mower has Never let me down! Marvin and his family/techs are extremely knowledgeable. Not once did I feel pressured or mislead etc... I have recommended their service to multiple people, neighbors, and even my extended family. 100% of the time we have been absolutely happy with Power Mowers Work. One additional thing about them... They sell some machines as well.... And at extremely competitive prices. I bought a new 2 stroke weed eater and a new blower from him. The same price or even better than the big box shops. The weed eater is amazing and so much easier to load w new string than my old model. The blower is extremely light and very well built. Power Mower even offers to pick up and drop off my large riding mower for a very nominal fee. Cheaper than me renting a trailer and more convenient than borrowing one! Saves me a lot of time. I really appreciate having a company like Power Mower to rely on to service all my mowers, weed waters and blowers etc. I trust them because they have earned my trust and my business. I've been taking all my yard care tools to Power Mower for close to 20 years. The original owner built a solid reputation for reliable, cost effective service, and the successive owners since then have worked hard at maintaining that reputation. There's a reason that most of the mow-and-blow services in N County get their equipment serviced here, and it's not just because Marvin's wife is cute! They do good work, and they stand behind their repairs with a decent warranty. Their prices are a bit high, but for me it's worth paying a little extra to keep my antique equipment running, rather than have to replace things with newer items that will fail more often. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Marvin and his shop. They DO NOT work for free, and just because your junky old mower isn't worth $40.oo doesn't mean he should have to fix it for less than that. His hourly shop rate is quite comparable to all other regional shops, and he usually has a very short turn around time. I find it interesting that almost ALL local gardeners use his shop for repairs, yet all of the negative reviews are from "homeowners" with seemingly unreal expectations. I had to take piece of junk Weedwhacker in to see if they could be repaired. I was thinking that I needed to buy a new one. The guy offered to look at mine for free and figured out that it just needed to be cleaned out. For a very minimal cost I was able to save some money and get some very good service. I went there yesterday to get 4 wood chipper blades sharpened. They said would be ready this morning. Well they were not ready then. So went back a few hours later. They were ready. $15.00 each for $60.00 total. When I took them in yesterday I was told they had a special machine to sharpen them. I said good just as long as you do not just use a hand held angle grinder or I could do that myself. Well, when I picked them up I saw they were sharpened with a hand held grinder! The boss offered me $10.00 refund. Very poor company as far as I am concerned. And looking at the reviews I am not alone with the same problem with this company. read more

NO BUENO! I dropped off my hedge trimmer on April 13rd to be repaired. They told me they will call me in a "few days". On April 20th, I called to inquire about the status and they told me it would be ready for pick up "this afternoon". On April 23rd, I drove 30 minutes to Power Mower to pick up my hedge trimmer. First, they couldn't find the paperwork, then they came out and said the technician is looking at it right now. I explained that it was supposed to be ready for pick up. I asked them to bring me the trimmer and I will go elsewhere. Upon inspection, it does not appear they ever touched the trimmer, even after having it in their possession for 10 days. This is no way to do business if you expect repeat customers. Very unorganized. read more

When I went to get back my more than 25 years old lawn mower after repairs from Power Mower, I had a somewhat stormy session with Mr. Marvin - we both wanted to put our point across but after it was all over, I realized that everyone at Power Mower is sincere at what they do and therefore they take it personally if anyone doubts either their work or their effort to accomplish the best repair job possible on an equipment. As far as I am concerned, we parted as friends. I am impressed with the pains they took to provide the best possible repair on a very old lawn mower. They have either straightened out or replaced different parts in the lawn mower to make it a working machine again for which I am very thankful to them. For me to pass a verdict on the job they have done on my lawn mower will be premature since I got it back only yesterday. I, however, will definitely go back to them for any repairs or buy from them refurbished garden equipment- lawn mower, trimmer etc., in future. read more

I was so excited that we had a local small engine repair shop. I thought I could really use their services as we have a quad and yard equipment as well as my husband has construction equipment for his company. As a first time customer I went in blind and didn't ask a lot of questions. I let 1,2,2.5 wks go by without a call back from them. Then on week 3.5 I was worried. I called expecting to hear "it's done!" Or "I'm sorry we will get on it right away!" Nope. I got "we will get to it next week". That's 4.5 weeks to have my pressure washer (working at 70%) diagnosed and maybe fixed? I asked the lady why? She had no good reason. I truly believe they put other customers ahead of me and took advantage of my non-nagging calls. I told her I was upset and why couldn't they look at it today? She said she was sorry I felt that way. Good one. I use that on my kids lady. Super bummed and I hope the owners lost what could have been an enthusiastic life long customer eager to support vista local biz. Now I have to go to Oceanside. A lot of reviews complain about the prices, its an engine repair shop, engines aren't easy or cheap to repair. Marvin and his team do great work. I took my lawn mower here 2 years ago and he fixed it for 75 bucks. It has been a one pull start mower ever since and worked great. I recently just sold the mower for the same price I paid to repair it due to the fact it runs so great (wife bought me a new one as a gift). Yesterday I picked up my weed wacker and he quoted me at 85 bucks to fix but the final price was 77. It worked great yesterday when I used it and starts with one pull easy! Power Mower is great and worth the couple extra bucks to make sure it is fixed right. read more

I took my mower and blower to a repair shop in Temecula (I live there), I didn't like the greeting/service/first impression, (plus horrible yelp reviews) so I brought them here, to Power Mower. The lady at the counter was courteous, and kind, she gave me a quote on both, and said they would be ready next week, so paid an extra 15.00 to have them done the next day. Five hours later I got a phone call, the gear was ready. I picked them up running like new and paid exactly what was quoted. This is now my new repair shop for my lawn gear. read more

I took my tiller in for repair because it was leaking fuel and I was quoted $89 to have the tiller repaired. I specifically said "it leaks", the owners wife said they would fix the leak. When I picked up the supposedly repaired tiller and loaded it into my SUV the tiller was still leaking fuel!!!!!! I took back in and the owner (Marvin) said they somehow overlooked the note on the service order stating the tiller was leaking gas!! So Marvin (again this guy is the owner of the business) said, hey we screwed up I will eat the cost of the leaking fuel repair and he wrote this on my copy of the service order. They called me in a couple of weeks stating the leak was repaired, when I arrived the owners wife said it will be an additional $90 (I had already paid Power Mower $89). I asked to speak with Marvin, Marvin said "we did not realize the fuel tank was cracked so we had to replace it and the cost is $90 more). I reminded Marvin of his statement that he would absorb the costs of repairing the leak since Power Mower screwed up the fist time. Marvin said "I can't honor that since the tank had a crack in it"!! I told Marvin that if I had known it would cost me $170 to repair the tiller I would have not had it repaired!!!!!!!!!! Marvin said "sure that makes sense I understand but I must still charge you an additional $90 dollars". This is a rip off business, I am sure Marvin was gaming me to charge me double what they quoted me because he knew that if they were honest with me I would not have left the tiller with them for repair but instead I would have taken the tiller to another repair shop. read more

This place is freakin' nuts. (that said instead of cursing them outloud.) They cheated me out the wazoo. I bought a used riding lawn mower. I wanted them to check it out and fix whatever it needed. They broke the key. Then after taking forever they charged $95 labor for changing two blades (there is one nut for each blade to remove and replace) and then charged me $58 for the blades! and $70 for a belt. (I sharpen the blades with a grinder in 5 minutes without removing them now.) The fact is the bearings in the mower deck are shot but they did not bother. Replacement blades cost at retail $13 tops, and the belt is similar. They screwed me. Plus my friend brought over a blower to get repaired. They lost it and never found it. So they gave him another one. WTF?!? Oh yeah and on my invoice they charged me $14.90 freight!!! Who charges for freight? I am so stupid to have gone here.
