They have very friendly and welcoming service...Miguel kindly took em on a tour of the entire place and patiently answered all of my questions. The have an abundant selection and excellent prices along with very healthy plants. It is truly family run with a small staff that does it all right on property. My mom and I recently became interested in succulents and wanted to buy a bunch (but at an affordable price). After checking yelp, we decided to drive out to Amalias in vista!!! Super easy to find! When we got there one of the ladies said we could turn in a park in one of their driveways, this was super convenient as we didn't have to walk up the hill and walk our plants down the hill (we parked basically right next to the plants). The lady working was super friendly and let us know the prices right from the start. The small ones were each $1, medium ones were $2 and the big/hanging ones were $7. CRAZY AWESOME DEAL!!! They had a HUGE selection, potentially he biggest selection of succulents ever (at least that I've ever seen; I'll post pics so you can see for yourself!) I highly recommend you check out amalias if your looking for healthy, beautiful (they take great care of their plants), and affordable plants/succulents!!! After buying a bunch we went to TJ Maxx for some pots and spent the rest of our day planting/arranging beautiful succulents. I almost felt guilty paying so little for these beautiful plants but hey...if that's what she's charging, I'm ALL FOR IT. I was like a kid in a candy store. I came to this place hoping to walk through real quick and instead I spent almost 30 minutes browsing before I finally had to leave for work. This place is amazing. They have such a wide variety of succulents, big and small. They even have variegated succulents which all seemed pretty healthy. I was able to find some varieties that were on my wishlist; ones that I couldn't find at any of the other neighboring nurseries. So happy that I found this place! This place is a hidden gem. It is full of so many different types of succulents that you could create all kinds of combinations or statement pots. The prices are very reasonable $1 for the smallest size succulents. Great place for wedding or baby shower giveaways. Other reviews are right about limited parking but it is an easy walk uphill to one of the greenhouses. Bring cash and change if you are going to make a small purchase. Yes, a little run down and a bit awkward when I first entered (no one was manning the store and there were no signage), but found some cool rare succulents here, which made up for the above. Love finding rarities. The lady who helped us was nice; I had to use my broken Spanish to communicate that I didn't realize it was cash only. She kindly saved my finds until I got back from the bank even though it meant coming back after their business hours (which I felt bad about). I am so excited about my haul from Amelia's! 75 cents for littles, $1.50 for mediums. SOO many succulents to choose from! Many were spilling out of their cups! I went to Home Depot first to get supplies to make planters and wasn't sure if I was going to swing by the nursery so I payed the too much for 3 succulents there, then figured "hey, it's pretty much on the way home, just swing by", and I'm so glad I did. Ended up buying 20 mediums The nursery is easy to find, just follow E Taylor Rd to the end, then turn right on the dirt road and drive up to the first white tent. The gentleman restocking helped me carry my goods to my car. Don't hesitate to check this place out, it has good ratings for a reason. read more

Succulent wonderland, I was greeted by Amalia. I happened to be there on a weekday so we had a chance to talk all about plants. Wide variety to choose from, this nursery is very well taken care of. Great selection for the price, but wish they would carry the rare succulents. I was only able to find few succulents that I don't have in my garden. The place is a little run down and not as nice as the pictures. (Those pictures must be when they first open). They only have one parking space, so it's best to park on the street and walk up to the plastic tent. Bring cash and make sure it is in small bills unless you plan to buy a lot. They do not have change and don't take credit card. Also, the time listed on the website is inaccurate. The workers there close the place earlier than the listed time, (like an hour). But overall, it is a good place to visit once if you want to start a succulent garden. read more

It was a little bit overwhelming at first, wish sooo many cool succulents to choose from...definitely went over budget, but the prices were so incredibly great, we left with dozens of new plants. Customer service was excellent, very friendly and helpful. Tip-- the sign says "up the hill"-- it's not all the way up at the top, don't go to the top it's impossible to turn around and you have to back down a treacherous road/ driveway. Such a large selection of succulents at excellent prices. I was able to get a large beautiful 5 gallon Ray of Light Agave for $25! 2" succulents are $1 and 4" succulents are $2.
