Signed up for yoga classes through a Groupon deal. So far I am really enjoying the experience. The place is more spacious than it looks from the outside. It also has a small bites and a bar. My instructor is Sara and she has been awesome. If your looking for a yoga home come check this place out.

It was not really my type of vibe, but it was a huge spot with 2 very spacious event rooms. I went there for what seemed like a "spoken word" local artist event. I didn't like the drinks and I didn't try any of the food. Like I said, it's not my type of vibe.

Gaia noMaya is located between the two main entrances of the prospect park Q station and also between two local B41 bus stops. I noticed that they reopened since they went under construction in August. They were have a concert but also mentioned food so I planned on visiting When I arrived back on a late Sunday, the doors was opened and they also had a sign that said "Palenque : wholesome Colombian food." There is outdoor seating and Inside is a bar area and seats. They have a general menu and a brunch menu. The food is available on Thursday to Sunday and the spa has a partnership with a restaurant in Williamsburg/Bushwick. I had Passionfruit juice (with the ability to add or exclude sugar). I also had pandebono waffles (cassava flour based) with passionfruit syrup. They were good and the waffle had the right balance of savory and sweet. It was a unique waffle I couldn't find just anywhere and the passionfruit juice had a smoothie like quality. They also had alcoholic beverages (mimosas) and general food like empanadas. And they have guest wifi. But the place is also a spa. There is a curtain separating the bar/restaurant with the actual spa (though you can hear the hymns from the outdoor Loudspeakers). The back is spacious with space for concerts, lockers, sauna, a salt cave and more. The bathrooms are also located in the back so I had to pass through the curtains in order to use them. The stalls were named after tarot cards, and I chose empress for reasons. But I want to try out the spa services in the future. I would try the infrared sauna to start or an official Visit to the salt cave. It is an interesting space.

I recently did a 10 am - 4 pm work session here and loved my visit. I started with the steak sandwich (which I had to substitute for chicken because the steak was out). It was so delicious that immediately wanted to reorder it but I decided to chill lol. I also had a green clean because they were out of cold brew but it was just okay. After being underwhelmed by and considering the cost of the green clean, I'd suggest that they make all their juices a full 20 oz (or at least 16 oz :/). When it was time to try another meal, I chose the sunflower chicken bowl and that too was just okay; however, i added the garlic spread on the bowl and that was incredible. So I guess the morale of this review is: put the spread that's on the steak sandwich on everything and you won't regret it. I'm looking forward to visiting here again to try their cocktails. I hope the drink to price ratio is better than the same ratio for juices ::fingers crossed emoji::. PS the staff was GREAT! My waitress / host was the one that convinced me not to cancel the garlic spread. Forever grateful for them.

Everyone even the front desk and other guests were welcoming and kind. After signing in and completing the waiver, I was directed to the yoga class downstairs. Seems like there's many types of different classes offered here (see pic). Room was clean, and props were plentiful including blocks, bolsters and blankets. The instructor Holly made sure each student was comfortable and moving into poses at their own pace and level. I was a bit sore from other fitness activities and she was very accomodating and wasn't shy to help me adjust my poses for better practice. She also explained and demonstrated for the class clearly. Loved my experience here. Really recommend you come try a class or take advantage of the new student special prices.

The teachers are all experienced meditation teachers and do a good job making newcomers feel welcome while also helping more experienced people continue to develop. One way this works is that classes are structured so one can drop in anytime and understand what is discussed, but if you go consistently classes you will see how classes build on each other. I think the drop-in feature is great because, unlike a gym, there is no required commitment to try it out. A typical class contains a meditation session followed by a philosophical/spiritual discussion from a buddhist point of view. You don't need to be buddhist to understand what is discussed or learn the meditation techniques. I personally found it very interesting to ponder the philosophical discussions and to incorporate them into my daily life.

I've been taking classes mainly at Jaya East, but sometimes with the timing of certain classes, I find that walking the 1.5 miles to and from this location is totally worth the trek. While equally loving and wonderful, this space also offers some of the best classes, instructors, the use of mats, bolsters, blocks, blankets and yoga stuff galore. The biggest difference between the studios is the setup. Here, students are lined up against 2 long walls opposite each other so that they will have 2 people on either side of them while facing the other half of the class. I initially worried that I would make a fool of myself, since now more people would be able to see me shaking, falling over and just generally being a clutz. But, I surprisingly realized that I enjoyed this setup more than the typical way of everyone facing the front of the room. As it turns out, there is more room for the instructor to move around, making it easier to see them and making them more likely to come over and correct my shoddy poses. Come to this Jaya. Or go to the other Jaya. Whatever Jaya you choose to go to, I promise it'll be the best Jaya around.

This is different than typical music. The nuanced simplicity of hearing the soothing tones of singing bowls and setting an intention prior to the sound bath exposed me to a deep level of connection with sound vibrations/frequencies and a profound connection to myself. The guidance and support TWS provided in the process was essential and helped open my awareness to healing in ways I had not known before. Regarding the sound healing: I'll be honest, I didn't quite know what to expect. What I first remember appreciating from the session is how empathetic, patient, and gentle Khanyini is. He took the time to both field my questions and explain the process without making it feel like an inconvenience or a chore. It really put me at ease. This, when paired with the beautiful, resonant music that seemed to move through every fiber of my being, quickly transitioned me from ease to a welcome sweet, comforting, dreamlike sleep. Afterwards, Khanyini helped me reflect on my experience (which I don't always take the time to do given how busy my life can be).
