Not as nice, nor has a variety like Abingdon but it beats a blank I guess. Just happy we have stores left in Essex & Dundalk.

Looking for out of this world gifts (I mean literally)? Bazaar in Baltimore is your place…read more They're currently open appointment-only due to covid, but you can browse their unique collection of the strange/unusual/morbid/macabre on their online store. You'll find anything from taxidermy, to jewelry, skulls, antiques and more. Some stuff might not be up your alley, some stuff you'll find that you love more than you should, but either way, it will fascinate the hell out of you. I spent an hour plus browsing through their awesome selection, their Yelp page and Instagram, just to learn more about this Hampden oddity (and I say that in the most endearing way). Businesses like this give Baltimore its soul. P.S. if you're looking to send someone a gift this season, you can email the guys at Bazaar to remove the invoice. Easy enough!

Having lived in the neighborhood for five…read moreyears, I must have walked past Bazaar hundreds of times, but I'd never stopped in until last weekend when I visited with a friend. They have a little window on the outside of the shop, and it gives you a really good idea of what they sell: odd trinkets, preserved animal specimens, historical items (like old prescriptions and medical devices), quirky jewelry, and much more. It's possible to find some crazy, fun, strange items at Bazaar. It's worth stopping into just to explore.

The interior is clean and spacious. There's SO much to buy, stuff you've never even thought you'd need, like a Christmas tree shaped beverage dispenser. Their stuff is high quality, long-lasting, and premium. We bought $8 pasta and $10 pasta sauce to splurge and got a free ornament. The customer service is superb! They must treat their employees well, as all the staff seemed excited, happy, engaged, outgoing, and smiley.

I had a feeling that there would be a lot of things that would catch my eye and I was right, but we were good and stayed on mission. A friend was having a Halloween party and I wanted to bring an on-theme food item. World Market had the coolest pumpkin shaped noodles, so I made macaroni salad. The noodles were flavored and multicolored and the macaroni salad seemed to be a hit. We also could not resist these weird spongy blue sour egg shaped candies because Jeremy loves blue Raspberry anything. He's been trying to get me to try one ever since because it's a texture sensation, but not necessarily in a good way. But we love to share experiences and make fun of the bad ones, so I may relent at some point. We signed up for their loyalty program and received an instant discount. And there's already a coupon waiting for me in my email box. That'll come in handy when we return to buy a bunch of unusual international snacks for Jeremy's little brother's upcoming birthday.
