coyote head and an emo emu! - Two large glass jars with black lids contain taxidermy animal parts. The left jar displays a wolf head with open mouth, showing teeth, while the right jar contains an emu limb with feathers. The jars are placed on a shelf in an eclectic gift shop that offers natural history items, antique medical equipment, and curiosities. The background includes various objects such as a mannequin leg, jewelry, and decorative items.

my new favorite shop! perfect place for bone collectors, animal lovers, novelty item enjoyers, weird jewelry wearers, and any and all lovers of the strange and unusual. the place itself was smaller than i was expecting, but was still packed with so much fascinating stuff!

Pink Flamingos' Divine - straight out of your trash can edition - A taxidermy raccoon dressed in a red dress with long yellow hair and makeup, holding a gun, is part of a display. The display includes a sign labeling it as the "Divine," described as the "filthiest taxidermy raccoon in the world." The figure is positioned on a glass display case containing skulls and anatomical models, with a pink flamingo decoration and a sign reading "FUNERAL" in the background.

have one of those friends who is into some seriously weird stuff that you dread their birthday a little bit more each year? or are YOU that friend that collects victorian hair wreaths or taxidermied toads or antique medical paraphernalia? or are you just looking to pick up something uniquely baltimorean? then this place is a MUST. it's a small shop but it's packed with lots of bizarre and interesting finds. new and old.. and well, dead. if you love Divine, you must go see the filthiest raccoon (that's not) alive!

I've been trying to get into this place for years but it seems I always ended up in Hampden during times they were closed. I'm glad I finally was able to get in here and check our the unique gifts and oddities Bazaar has to offer! Spent a bunch of time just admiring some of the different pieces and the history behind it. I'm big into photo and bought a few old timey photographs from their collection for a few bucks! Always crazy to me how things used to be done. Recommend you pop in for some unique little gifts or things for your bookcase/shelves.

A very unique place in the heart of Baltimore and a must stop for anyone who enjoys the weird and odd

A niche shoppe for curiosities, oddities and the pleasantly peculiar; part museum, part sideshow and [almost] all for sale! Lovingly curated, the owners of Bazaar take a fun and whimsical approach presenting unique and occasionally disturbing items to adorn your home, office or private collection. Turn of the century prescriptions for opiates? Check. Air plants or Victorian mourning jewellery? Yes! Vintage photograph of a patient diagnosed with elephantiasis. Did you need one or two? Even if you aren't currently in the market for a human skull, quack medical device, taxidermy specimen or turn of the century portrait there is something to grab your interest, pry open your wallet and, at the very least, pique your sense of curiosity. They also offer the occasional class and are always happy to answer any question(s) you may have. Bazaar really a must see destination if you find yourself in Hampden. When planning a visit keep in mind they don't have mourning hours; doors open promptly at noon!

Gulp. I am at a loss for words, which basically never happens. I was so excited to see a new business today on Chestnut, but do not know how to 'classify' this new shop, so someone else will have to do it for me. I dare you. ATTN: VEGETARIANS, VEGANS, ANIMAL LOVERS: DO NOT ENTER. ALSO NOT A GOOD OR APPROPRIATE PLACE TO TAKE CHILDREN. Lots of dead things, taxidermy, stuffed things that used to be living, bats under glass, skulls, furs, etc. If these things sound appealing to you, you will love this place. I, however, had to fight the urge to vomit after leaving and couldn't eat for hours (another thing that basically never happens). Some things can't be unseen and I think this store should come with a warning sign. The two guys working there were very nice.

    Air plants paradise!

This place is really cool! There's so many air plants available here, the various (large) sizes are impressive! I was also able to purchase a marimo ball & a rose of Jericho! I've been looking everywhere online for marimo balls, but none of the suppliers seemed reputable. I'm SO glad 'Bazaar' has them for sale! My marimo ball is thriving at its new home with me! The rose of Jericho was also such a pleasant surprise, I've known of them for over a year now but never looked for them online because I assumed it would be a dead end. My first visit to 'Bazaar' was excellent, I can't wait to visit again & again & again! This place is awesome!! It's one of a kind, you will not regret coming here! Don't mind those bashing 'Bazaar' in regards of animal remains, it's all ethically sourced! You should definitely visit this place, it's a hidden gem in Baltimore!

I was condescended to, bullied and threatened here today by a sales person and it was so shocking I…read moredon't know what to say. This dude was so instantly nasty to me, dismissive, condescending, just awful. I literally don't even know what I did wrong but try and buy a stack of books and try to get a discount cos I was buying a whole stack! Never ever before met a rude person here in the twenty years I've been coming (since before ravens stadium was built and they were across the street). I've bought thousands of dollars worth of appliances here (2 $500 stoves, a $1000 fridge, two dishwashers, and two washers and dryers), not to mention hundreds upon hundreds worth of lumber, trim, windows, doors, miscellaneous hardware, etc. I bought 400 dollars worth of upholstery cloth one time alone. I come in, I don't mess around, I know what I need and I am a friendly nice customer. (Because they use your phone number when you buy, also? they should be able to SEE this). I was buying BOOKS. Books are not their main business (and to be honest their prices are so out of scale it's crazy compared to thrifts--10 dollars each for a used hard over cover book from the 80s? I think there was one vintage item or two--I collect golden book kids encyclopedias) In the past they've basically tried to GIVE me books I wanted to buy! I wasn't buying anything from the "special glass cases. I asked Josh what they could do for me on these 20 books that I promise no one wants. (I promise). I picked up so many cos I have always been given a little break on stuff here! It's literally the way I thought they do business!!!! Nope. Not a single red cent. Off ANY book EXCEPT one they wanted 20 dollars for that didn't cost 20 new! (No it was not old or vintage!) I had 100 bucks of books in my cart he couldn't do 80? He wouldn't even discuss it and when I was frankly totally taken aback by this since it's so counter to EVERY EXPERIENCE IVE HAD THERE FOR OVER 20 YEARS--he threatened to call security on me!? For trying to bargain?????? These were all crap books. I want them for myself and to show my husband AND I make art from them. I'd have paid literally 10 for every set of four of these books at thrift. They wanted 10 and 15 dollars EACH. It wasn't just he wouldn't deal at all on price. He treated me like a criminal for no reason at all. He had his hand on his walkie talkie and when I kind of laughed just thinking he was driving a bargain he said he was going to call security on me!!!! He did this because I had the temerity to say "come on, not any discount at all? I'm buying in bulk!" And I mentioned I've never had them not come down on price on anything ever! I am a short, friendly 53 year old mom. fyi. What the living heck is going on with this place? It was SUCH an unpleasant and weird experience. I feel horrible. I will take my business to loading dock.

It was barely used and was in excellent condition, but for some odd reason the cushion was sinking. I figured, if I got it reupholstered to the color of my choice and had the cushion replaced, it would be good as new. I took to my handy dandy Yelp app and did a search and Mill End popped up. I'm familiar with the shop, since a family member worked there years ago, but I had no clue they did this type of work. I gave them a call and was told to bring in a picture to evaluate the chair because they didn't want me to be without my chair for a long time. Well, I thought bringing in the chair itself would be easier, since I wasn't in a hurry for it. I was greeted by a very knowledgeable staff member who gushed about how beautiful the chair was. She did an evaluation of what would be needed to repair and reupholster it and then showed me the fabrics that were available in the color I selected. They have a large variety of fabrics on-sight in the store, but they do have options that can be ordered. The one I selected was on-sight. We agreed upon the estimated price, I filled out some paperwork and I was out the door. It was literally that quick and simple. Since they have a pretty extensive client list waiting for their projects before me, my estimated date for the chair to be completed was about 2 months or so. To my surprise, I was called about a month later informing me that my chair was ready. I arrived and was extremely pleased with my brand new chair. The workmanship was beautifully done and the cushion they replaced was perfectly placed. They did such a phenomenal job, my parents wanted their chair back. Lol! Not on my watch! Yes, Mill End is a bit pricey, but so worth it! They're truly professionals. I'm planning to get my dinning room chairs reupholstered in the near future, so I made sure to get an estimate while I was there. I'll absolutely be back in the near future.
