Zelda Zen is easily one of my favorite little shops in Fell's Point. The selection is fun, eclectic and well curated--beautiful jewelry, great cards and gifts, lots of Baltimore personality, and some delightfully unapologetic political merchandise (seriously the best cards). Every time I go in to browse I end up leaving with a pair of earrings (or three). Beth is wonderful and clearly puts so much personality into the store. Zelda Zen is exactly the kind of independent small business that makes Fell's Point special. Before you even enter the store, Beth, the owner, has beautiful flowers and welcoming chairs, once you go instead she has a lovely selection of jewelry and scarves and art and cards, perfect for gifts or to treat yourself. This is one of my favorite places to stop when I come to Baltimore! I love the earrings. I have very sensitive ears and usually after a few hours of wearing earrings they get swollen and painful. I can wear earrings from here for DAYS with no problem. I had mentioned I had lost a pair of my favorite ones and she offered to order them for me! What a sweet woman! Love this place! read more

My experience with the owner of this business was that she is just the sweetest! The owner "Beth" and her wonderful personality and love of Community is what makes me want to come to her store. Recently, I went to a friend's house and noticed the coolest looking card. The card was like 3D and very unique. I asked my friend where did you get such a cool card and it came from Zelda Zen. We popped into this store while in the area and had a wonderful experience. We were visiting with friends, and our daughter fell in love with the soap rocks she had in her store. While checking out, the owner, Beth, helped us, and we had a nice chat where she congratulated our daughter on losing her first tooth. While in Baltimore, we were so taken aback by how welcoming and friendly everyone we met was, and Beth is a perfect example of the warmth we felt from the people of Baltimore. The shop was cute, but not quite what I was expecting. Also, you have to spend at least $10 to use a card, to the point where I didn't have any cash and she was just kinda like oh well then and I walked out purchasing nothing. The legend of Zelda was an awesome video game, and has absolutely nothing to do with this tiny little boutique in Baltimore's most expensive, fancy, quaint shopping and nightlife area - Fells Point. We actually spent a decent amount of money in here because my partner in boutique crime found way too many things she wanted. I can see why. It's not the cheapest but the woman serving us was so nice and helpful, and the selection of all kinds of otherworldly and eye-catching items was magnificent. I think Bush would agree with me when I say that if you're in Baltimore, and want to buy necklaces, jewelry, handbags and such, then you should get "Everything Zen." If you can afford it. read more

Stopped into this cute little shop a year or so ago while wandering Fells Point. The owner, a woman was extremely pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. The store has lots of jewelry and gift items. I wound up buying a cute pair of earrings (see picture). She wrapped them up in a cute little bag with ribbon for me. We chatted while I checked out & I mentioned I was visiting and she was more than happy to provide recommendations on places to eat. She even wrote them down for me! Great store IF you like unique, hand made items you'll treasure!!! To us a perfect Vacay Day Bucket List Is: 1) Great food and Drinks 2) Art and Music 3) Historical and interesting architecture 4)Great shopping. The friendly people and positive vibes helped us enjoy FELLS POINT in Baltimore which is the perfect place to satisfy it all. Charming cobble stone streets, smells of food, sounds of great music alongside this magnificent harbor set the perfect tone for a perfectly wonderful vaca day. We had lunch at Thames Street Oyster House- (see review)which is in the midst of galleries, bars and steps from Zelda Zen. Nice variety of items for sale. Many are from local artists and I think most if not all things are handmade. I regret not purchasing more things now that we're back in California. Awesome earrings and several clay sculptures for the wall are haunting me. I will return! Oh yeah, I think she ships! I recommend getting to this store when you get into the Baltimore area. I didn't photograph the bag that held my goodies, but she wrapped each item in sturdy and colorful paper and set the bag off with a darling fall themed bow . I visited Fells Point over Easter Weekend and checked out some reviews online to see what was interesting before going. I saw so many good reviews for the owner of this place that I had to stop in to meet her. All of the good things that you hear about Beth are true! She was so kind and intuitive. She has great info and suggestions of what was worth checking out in town. i highly suggest stopping in. There's a lot of really neat items in this shop! Also I told her about the high cost of the hotel parking garage where i was staying and she even had suggestions about that! thanks for saving me big $ Beth!! See you next time! read more

This shop drew me in from the street. It's so inviting and has a sense of calming (may sound weird but visit and you'll understand). The owner is so friendly and eccentric and it shows throughout her shop. This shop has so many handmade personable items and gifts. It's a shop where you can find one of a kind items. They have jewelry, mugs, night lights, outside decor and much much more. I bought a unique candle handmade locally and it's placed in a recycled wine bottle (top is cut off and candle is in the bottom). I haven't burned it yet but I will keep you posted!! I stopped in Zelda Zen after going to almost every other shop in Fells Point (there are tons of great shops in Fells Point, BTW) and this place was BY FAR my favorite! Every section of this place has a different style of accessories and prices to fit any budget and anyones style. Tons of cool jewelry and scarves and other little gifts. If you are in need of a gift I highly suggest stopping in here. My personal favorite is the huge array of coasters! Yes, coasters! There are hundreds and all are locally made by a photographer, she takes pictures of iconic landmarks and bars and restaurants and makes them into tile coasters. I LOVE THEM! I just had to get some for myself. I bought one that was the sign in front of the Horse You Came in on Saloon and also bought one with the Koopers Tavern sign. They also had the Pagoda, Ravens, and any other bar/restaurant you can name. What is really cool is the owner took some of my suggestions for places she didn't have yet! I just love them and feel like they are a fun talking piece, I need more (at $10 a pop though I will have to slowly build up on them)! Great little shop, very friendly and helpful and it is FULL of goodies. read more

I love this little gem because of the personalized shopping experience and the dog was cute who was shopping with me. As well there is so many options. Came into this store because I loved the aesthetics of it. The ladies inside were nice and greeted me but shortly after I arrived there was loud conversation between the employees about personal endeavors that were honestly not only unprofessional but could have been harmful to young impressionable people. If I myself had heard this conversation a year or two ago, it would have really hurt me and potentially even have sent me over the edge. Depression is a very serious issue and I believe talking about it is essential for healing among those directly touched by it and their family. That being said, hearing a worker at this store describe a depressed person in her life and how much of a toll this other person's depression was taking on the worker by association, is not only inappropriate but something extremely sensitive to many people. I know that many of the things I heard her say "It's so hard knowing a depressed person", "I've tried everything but she just won't stop being sad", "It puts me in a bad mood to be around her", etc were things that people I loved would say about me and I felt immense guilt about when I was in a bad place and if I was still feeling like that, this employee's perspective would have been affirming all the things that were already making me feel so sad and guilty. This kind of outlook on depression, that of frustration and strife, from the people around me, was what kept me in a place where I felt I could never get better and only perpetuate further suffering to those around me. I'm sure that I just walked in on a hard day, and I empathize with the struggles of everyday life. We are all human and we affect each other in ways we can never comprehend. But this kind of chat really turned me off to the store and I couldn't even stay inside for more than a minute before stepping out. Not the kind of environment I expected from such a cute little place. I hope the best for the worker and her loved ones. read more

Went to check out this shop while travelling through Baltimore connecting with boutique owners to vend my jewelry and out of the dozens of locations I stopped this one was the only place where the owner was not only rude but insulting. While explaining that I was going door to door gauging interest with photos of my work instead of carrying my whole collection considering I carry my art in padded rifles cases to protect it she interrupted saying "We'll that's just stupid" and then when trying to agree that I understood that walking around a major city with rifle cases wasn't the best idea, hence why I was showing photos door to door, she continued to berate my business practices and interupt me while insulting my intellegience. An uninspired selection of products combined with the lack of tact & decency has made the only thing about this shop I will remember the sour taste that was left in my mouth when I walked out the door. read more

Great variety of items for sale, especially the cards. Shocked by how unprofessional the employee was. Used profanity to explain her overzealous love of Baltimore. "It's a fabulous fucking city and if you don't like it you can leave." She then told my friend and I to go back where we came from (Pennsylvania) because that explained why we didn't like the city, rather than her poor attitude toward customers. I went for a post-lunch walk in Fell's Point with my friend and my son, only to encounter a downpour of rain in the middle of it. Naturally, neither of us had an umbrella handy, thus we darted from shop to shop on Thames St., hoping to purchase a pair. You would be surprised just how many stores do not carry umbrellas at the precise moment that you need one, but I digress... At any rate, we ducked into Zelda Zen hoping for luck--which we found, but in a totally unexpected way. The proprietor, Beth, greeted us warmly and from the moment we entered her store, we were transfixed. The shop itself is gorgeous, and it is curated with an eclectic mix of beautiful and useful items, both local and global. I could have stayed there for hours; everything she carries is exquisite and unique, it's the perfect place to find special gifts for someone you love, or for yourself. Now here's the really magical part: Beth didn't have any umbrellas for sale--but she did have an extra one of her own that she actually lent to us so we could enjoy the rest of our outing bone dry. We left her store with our purchases (Bath Whip, which is an unbelievably wonderful product, I've used it every day since), a beautiful borrowed umbrella, big enough to shelter two women and a toddler, AND a renewed sense of confidence that there are still many good people in this world. speaking from a guy who knows nothing about fashion or trends... I have 4 sisters, a wife and a daughter, and a mom... This place has become my "go to" for all of them.. this place has everything from ear rings to candles. it is the perfect place to get the scarf that no one else has or that style necklace. there is just enough to have it in most colors that you don't feel like a dept store. everything there is one of a kind. there are even tile coasters with all the local/ historic places in the neighborhood. It is a must see and get lost in for an hour. there is the most comfy rag chair as soon as you walk in. read more
