Traveled to Paulden, AZ (near Prescott) to visit my aunt. We went out to dinner to Gabby's Rustic Eats. My aunt said that they were under new management and she had heard positive things about Gabby's. The restaurant is rustic with wooden tables. We were sat next to a window with a nice view of the snow covered mountains. Terrill was our waiter and he was attentive and explained a few things about the menu. He also said that he felt the restaurant was finally hitting its stride after the "newness" of the restaurant wore off. I ordered the Pot Roast and my aunt ordered the pulled pork sandwich my wife ordered the Chicken Club Sandwich. Both came with a side of Fries. The sandwiches were good and plentiful. The pot roast was good but it was saturated in gravy. Too much gravy. I could see a dusting of gravy with a side dish with more gravy if the patron wanted more. Overall we were pleased and would definitely come back when we are in Prescott. read more

we decided to try this place out on Wednesday and all I have to say this place should not be in business.. the food was soo disgusting and blah!! it had no flavor!! also we can't forget that the beer we ordered was expired and Skunky.. I will never go back or think about going back. the Heath department should be called on this place. My whole family got food poising by eating the food they serve. Food was great! My wife and I split the Rueben with steak fries. Perfectly grilled with tender meat. The waitress told about Happy Hour specials, All you can eat fish Friday, and two for one Tuesday (after 4 pm to 8 pm). We will definitely be back! read more

A friend treated me to lunch. He had the salmon while I tried the chicken club sandwich with onion rings. The sandwich was huge. For the first time in my life I had to eat the sandwich in portions. We tried this place today for lunch. Read reviews were good on the sandwiches. Very dissapointed on how they looked and how they tasted. Plain flavor, my pork sandwich was dry, my husband's turkey sandwich cold deli meat. I asked for an Arnold Palmer and it was so plain, we told waitress and ordered a raspberry iced tea, which also came out so plain. And I also got bad stomach ache after I ate my pork sandwich. First ordered the fried green bean appetizer and it was expensive for what little amount you got...Ordered sloppy Joe's that were awful then told them and reordered a rueben and it was tasteless and very soggy. My wife had the pot roast and she said the potatoes and carrots it came with were hard (not cooked all the way through) and didn't care for the pot roast. Will not be going back.... read more

Great food, courteous staff. We ordered meatloaf with mashed potatoes and cowboy corn along with a pork shank, mashed potatoes and corn. Both were delicious and the gravy for the pork shank tasted like something I would make and I want to back right away! Dessert was a turtle cheesecake and it was yummy! read more

Best pulled pork bar-b-que sandwich since I left California. Husband has the Chino cheesesteak, also excellent. Steak fries were outstanding and the portions of everything were huge. I've been here twice. Ate once at the bar and once at a booth. Our bartender was awesome very attentive making sure we were taken care had the pot roast and it was really good except the carrots and potatoes were on the hard side but the gravy and pot roast were really good. When me and the boyfriend went the second time we sat at the booth and our waitress was ok no personality but she did make sure we were taken care of so not gonna fault her for no personality. I had the meatloaf this time and it was excellent had mashed potatoes and the cowboy beans. Not a fan of the beans but they weren't bad just didn't like the taste I'm not a beans fan but not much choice in the sides. My boyfriend had the south western salad I think and the French onion soup he thought the soup was fantastic but the salad was a little lacking and the bowl was shaped weird and kept tipping over. We love the gabbys chain and hope that since they are a new business here in chino they will get better with the cook times with the veggies. I'll be back for sure though. read more

If I could give a minus stars I would. The male hosts was horrible. At least 10 open tables and two large booths and would not seat our family of 7. He told us there was a wait which we said we would gladly wait then he said he had no idea of the wait time and could not give us an estimate of wait time. read more

Very sad to have to leave a bad public review on a small town restaurant as we try so hard to support local businesses. I'd leave a ZERO star if that was an option. Walked in with very low expectations, due to word of mouth about this place and sad to say it was worse than that. Dinner for two, 10 min at the front desk to be seated. Ordered food, looked like a good selection. (1) meatloaf dinner rated as "alright" and then there was mine. Ordered the ribeye, corn, salad, mashed potatoes. Im pretty sure the mashed potatoes were instant (if not that would be shocking). The corn was brown (tasted brown if you could taste the color brown). Then the steak, all I can say is all you tasted was the grill. Asked for A1 or creamy horseradish to try to salvage a $30 steak, by the time they brought it to the table my husband was finished eating. Neither A1 or even horseradish could drown out the taste of the grill. Kindly mentioned to the waitress that I think they need to clean their grill as that was the worst tasting steak I've had. Clearly only had ate a few bits. Her response was "ok". We paid our bill and left. It's been an hour now and I have had 3 mints and still cannot get that taste out of my mouth. Going for listerine next and hope that works. Every table around us was complaining but we all just laughed, because what are you gonna do. read more

Ate there with some friends on Friday. Our food was really good! I have been to Gabby's Grill many many times, and I was pleased with Gabby's Rustic Eats too! Chino Valley struggles to support new businesses as sharp owners and competent employees are hard to find. Well, another nice new failure looms on the Chino horizon. Gabby's Rustic Eats opened to much excitement and fanfare. But a short-sighted owner and an incompetent staff revealed the diamond were just mere rhinestones. In an attempt to share in the festivities, my family and I attempted dine at the establishment only to find it packed. In an effort to still partake of the cuisine, we thought it better to place an order to go. When we attempted to get a menu to order, we were denied because the hostess/waitress said we wanted to dine out. After that we took our business elsewhere. I posted about the incident on their Facebook page. Since then they have resorted to rude behavior and name calling. So I am now posting here. I don't know why the owner would dissuade customers. And now thread is gone and hopefully Gabby's Rustic Eats will be gone too. Chino Valley deserves better. read more

My family of 4 decided to give it a go, we were so happy about another food option in CV! First of all the place looks soooo much better than the previous dump it was. Kudos for being clean! Our waiter was ok. Not bad but not great either, maybe he's new to this kind of job. Now the food...I'm not going to lie, I am a hard sell anywhere being raised in a family of amazing chefs and restaurant owners so I look at EVERYTHING. My husband thinks I'm crazy but that's a story for another day. The menu reminds me of our NJ diners. Some comfort, salads, fried foods, sandwiches and the the attempt to upscale a bit. My husband had the chino cheesesteak, was ok he said. The sandwich and fries was a very small portion for the price that's for sure. One son had the fettuccine Alfredo and he said it was good, should've come with a piece of garlic bread or something. My other son had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fries (yes two potato sides, I almost died when he chose that). It looked sloppy for sure. He said it tasted good though. He couldn't eat the fries because they were too salty. I did try the mashed potatoes and they were horribly bland. Now I decided to try something simple that can be so amazing if done properly. I ordered the grilled cheese and short rib sandwich, I opted to pay the $3.25 upcharge for sweet potato fries. Let me tell you, this was the biggest disappointment. No flavor except what smelled like griddle oil. Cheap cheese and bread and barely any short rib meat. A few very thin slices of mostly under rendered fat. The fries were not even close to the charge they were worth. Makes me Leary if they can't pull off a good grilled cheese. On the positive side we got the curry chicken soup and it was delicious! Do I think what we had, mind you No appys or alcohol, was worth $90? Absolutely not. Would I go back? Yes, I believe it deserves another chance BUT I am generally not impressed yet. I don't think this will draw outside residents in to visit Chino like another restaurant in town does which is unfortunate because it can have amazing potential if the food is elevated. We've tried them three times and each time have been very happy with the food and thrilled with the servers. We had been put off by the servers toward the end of Bonnfire's run at this location (with different owners) but the staff now, even the younger high school/college aged hosts and servers were smiling and engaging with us and great to talk with. We had a great conversation with our favorite server who we knew from Gabby's Kitchen previously but who joined the team here. My husband is by no means a salad man but after trying the apply/walnut salad they offer is absolutely obsessed and orders it every time and also has enjoyed all three sandwiches he has ordered so far (Cuban, Reuben and Short Rib.) He can't wait to get through most of them so he can decide on a favorite. My daughter loves the regular cheeseburger and the fries and so far I've been quite happy with the burger, the filet (perfectly cooked and tender I meant to take half home but couldn't stop) and the other feta salad on the menu. Overall besides the food we are most impressed with the staff as I mentioned. Experiencing happy, polite and earnest people is quite rare in this day and age, especially with the young staff probably on their first job ever so it definitely stood out to us and we are thrilled its open and a close and enjoyable option. read more
