Dean and his crew have been taking care of my A4 for the last 3 years. I get all my oil changes done here (it only costs a little more than doing it myself here, so why crawl under your car if you don't have to?), and Dean looks out for anything else which may need attention. Dean knows VAG cars as well as anyone I have met, and he's always up front with what my car needs. Prices are decent and parts are OEM unless otherwise specified. The work done on my car has always been done right the first time. The waiting room takes some beating too. I went to Futrell Autowerks because it's hard to find a good trustworthy shop that know what they are doing with Volkswagen's. I took it the week after Christmas and they were absolutely slammed but I was in a pinch needing my car fixed right away. They told me they were way behind and weren't taking any cars in that week but I explained my situation to them and they took it anyways. They got back to me two days later and explained what was wrong with my car and had it done and fixed by the end of that same day! I paid a fraction of what the dealer would have charged and they even helped me when I told them I had a certain budget. since they lowered the price I was actually able to afford a few maintenance repairs as well, filter's, spark plugs etc. I will be going back as long as I own my Volkswagen, wouldn't trust anybody else. read more

Absolute excellence. My husband and I first took our Jetta to Dean about 3 years ago when a light came on - he was super knowledgable and said that it should go away when the weather warms up, but if it didn't to go ahead and bring it in. It went off like he said it would - but his honesty and knowledge made us customers for life. He could have easily brought us in and charged us to look at it, we would have never known any better. Since then we have brought all our vehicles to him. We trust him & his opinion. When we've purchased cars he's advised us not too and has saved us plenty of money from not making a mistake. I use Yelp for reviews quite frequently but have never felt compelled to join and leave a review until my excellent experience yesterday with Dean at Futrell. I recently moved to the area and needed to find a place to get my car's oil changed. I typically go to a dealership because, while I know I'll pay more, I tend to trust that a dealership will be more reputable than a generic oil & lube shop. Boy was I wrong on that! I took my VW Jetta to a local dealership for an oil change on Monday and was shocked to receive a "report" outlining all the things my car needed. I take pretty good care of my 2010 Jetta (with only 46,000 miles) but according to the dealership, I was driving a death trap! Something just didn't feel right, so before handing over a couple thousand dollars, I decided to get a second opinion. I found Futrell on Yelp, saw it was close by and decided to stop in. I met with Dean, explained my situation and just asked if he would be willing to give my car the once over. He was polite, respectful, not at all intimidating and very helpful. He agreed to give my Jetta the complete inspection and made a point to ask me not to share any of the previous dealership's notes with him until after he performed his inspection (I would not have anyway, but I really appreciated his honesty and desire to look at my car with a "clean set of eyes"). We agreed on a price (He charged me very little for the service. I felt like he was practically doing it for free.) and I made an appointment for the next day. The next day, I arrived and asked Dean to please let me know what he finds and to show me the issues on my car so that I could learn and understand the problems. He agreed. About 45 minutes later, he came back and told me that there was nothing to show me! He agreed with the original report that I would need new tires soon, but otherwise, found absolutely nothing wrong with my car! He took time to go over everything he inspected, answered my questions and gave me good guidelines to understanding what was a good measurement, bad measurement and when I should expect to replace certain things (brake fluid flush, transmission fluid, belts, brakes, all of it!) He never made me feel dumb for asking any question. I then showed him the original list complied by the local dealership, just to make sure he and the dealership inspected all the same things. He was professional, never trashed the other guys and even tried to give them the benefit of the doubt on their findings. I am so please with my experience that I will be taking my Jetta back to Futrell for all future needs. I am so happy to have found an honest and reputable auto maintenance and repair shop!! My 2010 A6 was loosing coolant. Dean and Nick figured out after a difficult diagnosis that one of the aftercoolers by the supercharger had developed a crack. They took really good care of me and showed high integrity in all their dealings. While the supercharger assembly was off the car I took advantage of the easy access to upgrade from Stage I to Stage II tuning. No regrets there! Interestingly my mileage around town is up by 2-3 mpg. Maybe that's due to the carbon clean as well as the increased efficiency with the new supercharger pulley. First impressions were good, but when I questioned charges for unrequested and unauthorized service items that were totally unrelated to my last visit I was told perhaps I needed to find another shop. I was so surprised with the email response that I asked him to re-read his email and make sure he intended to be a jerk. Apparently he did. To this day I wonder what I did to deserve the rude treatment. Also, tech was unable to diagnose my APR Stage 1 drivability problems. read more

If you want to get ripped off, dean at Futrell is the guy to go to. Over priced work that he will do without telling you and expect you to pay, even if under there warranty. When the owner dean checks you out at the end be ready for him to yell at you because you wonder why the price is so high. I could bring my car to be serviced closer to my house, but after doing cost comparisons on a few repairs, I realized that it is worth the time to make the trip. I recently took my 2008 Audi TT in to Futrell Autowerks on a recommendation from an old colleague. Now, perhaps I'm a little new to the high end car shop model, but this place impressed me at every turn. I left my car at the shop after closing hours (when I got off work) and received an email the next day letting me know their progress on my scheduled maintenance (almost done) and an item of concern (still investigating). They kept me in the loop, responding promptly to any question I had (again, by email), and provided pictures of work they'd done. It may seem like a simple thing, but getting emails instead of having to wait by my phone really helped me out at my loud workplace. They even took the time to do some research for me on some components that appeared to be missing (I purchased the car used). Their waiting room is comfortable, the staff is friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised by their prices. I will be returning to Futrell. read more

I was in a few weeks ago to buy a VW Tourareg in Hillsboro and Dean was great! I wanted to get the car inspected before I went ahead and purchased it because I couldn't take my brother or dad with me. I wasn't sure where to go, but this place seemed to have good reviews. Dean got me in the same day I called to set the appointment, gave me a few tips before I went to the dealer, and even made sure the oil was changed before I got on the road. Man where to begin... I've been seeing Dean and the team now for 3 years now. He has worked on my first 2016 audi s4 6 speed, my 2013 audi s4 DSG. And now my 2013 audi s4 6 speed! Their prices are great and they not only know what they are doing, but they treat you right too! There have been times when I came in to get something fixed that I thought was going to be 600 plus dollars, and if the team at Futrell saw that it didn't actually need to be fixed, they would honestly let me know and I'd leave with no hole in my wallet and the issue resolved. They are honest, kind, and generous. They know what they are doing too, my 2013 audi s4 ran a 0 to 60 time of 2.87 seconds and now runs 11.001 quarter miles all from the help of Futrell Autowerks! They can do anything from checking your suspension, to an oil change, to my most recent problem (wheel bearing replacement)! Their prices are competitive and way cheaper than any Audi dealership, and I swear that they know more. If there is anything that you need done to you European car, come to Futrell Autowerks in Beaverton Oregon. They will treat you with respect, and make sure that the job is done right. These German car service and performance specialists raise the bar in terms of excellence. The owner of the shop is extremely knowledgeable and customer oriented tailoring each person's needs to their car. The true test of service is when things don't go as planned. In my case, I wanted to update my exhaust system. Upon receipt of my car, I didn't like the sound of my car based on the after-market item. It wasn't Futrell's issue the sound of my car didn't meet my expectations. The owner without hesitation underscored the importance of keeping his customers happy and allowed me to select another exhaust system going way beyond his duty. I am now thrilled with my exhaust to which none would be possible without the relationship with Futrell. As one of his staff expressed, "Our goal is to ensure your car sounds like a proper Porsche!"
