Extremely dishonest people. My son's friend went in to have her front tires replaced and they told her that the control arms were bad, the rear tires needed to be replaced, and the rear brakes were down to 1mm. As someone that services cars I took a look to verify and none of it was true. They said the control arms had cracks in the seals, but they were perfectly fine. I checked the rear brakes and they were fine. They were trying to scam $1700 out of a young girl that did not know any better. The estimate was written on a notepad from another company. They "fixed" my external coolant leak and returned my car to me with an internal coolant leak (that had never been there before). I have never seen a drop of coolant inside my vehicle but I got my truck back from them with a puddle on my floor mat. I thought maybe they just spilled so I wiped it up. Nope, it's getting worse and worse. When I called, they want to charge me over $700 for to fix it. I think they caused it so I definitely won't return to them to get it "fixed". Plus, when I was there, they seemed to enjoy talking down to me. If I had time to go elsewhere, I would have but instead I just bit my tongue. If you are strapped for cash, he lays out all your options and what you can delay a while to fix etc. I was quoted 800 on a engine light problem by another mechanic. Kevin has been there over 20 years and he explained everything to me and it ended up costing 260 but I do have another problem that will cost another 400 but I can stall on it for awhile. I brought a 2000 Dodge Intrepid with a slight internal coolant leak that would need filled once a month, and received back a 2000 Dodge Intrepid that has a massive internal oil leak, that was not there before, and a HUGE coolant leak that BOTH need filled EVERY WEEK. They charged me $600 to stop the internal oil leak, and they made it WORSE! I don't know if these guys expect people who drive older cars and are on a tight budget to be stupid, but they sure treated my wife and I that way. Only bring your car to the shop if you know exactly what needs to be done on it, and exactly what doesn't, otherwise they will screw you over big-time for big money because they try to make big money on people who have nice cars, and they damage old cars so there's repeat business on the people who don't look like they have a lot of money. I have been going to this shop since 1998. My two current vehicles were inspected by them before being purchased and all needed repairs have been done by these mechanics. Once, I did change the oil on my Jeep while at my brother house in the SF Bay Area. When I fired up the engine, I had no oil pressure registering. I called and talked to Terri, the owner. He immediately diagnosed that I had broke the sensor off the engine which was correct. :-( Bottom line is I can call, get help so I can either get my car running again, or get going so I can get into the shop. I did some research, came here and Kevin definitely took care of us. He had great reviews and now I know why. He actually quoted me $5 less than the dealership, but was doing more than double the amount of work! He was very honest with prioritizing what needed to be done first and what can wait. One of the best auto shops I've come across. The one time that really impressed me is when they didn't fix my car. They opened up the engine enough to tell it would have to be replaced or overhauled (oil pump failed which caused a series of other failures). Terry and Kevin are both great honest guys and they do great work at the shop. Before I became one of their customers, I had taken my car to Les Schwab beause I had a flat tire and was told that I needed all new breaks. I decided to go to Aloha Auto to get a better price and was told that i still have 80% left on my breaks and that I did not need new ones. I really appreciate their honestly.
