I really hate to give ABA only one star but it took 3 hours and 15 minutes for an easy service and tire rotations. It was only $63.25 that took too long. Previous visits have taken no more than an hour, as that is why I sat in the waiting area. It appears they are losing too many people. I was told that a tech quit on Friday and Hannah left a couple of weeks ago without any notice as her husband/boyfriend moved to Arizona. Previously they lost Meridian who seemed to be the glue that kept things righted. I will start to look for a new auto repair. read more

I would not recommend ABA Auto Repair based on my recent experience. I brought my Jeep Grand Cherokee in for major engine work (camshaft and lifter repair). Prior to the repair, I had no issues with my thermostat or cooling system. Within just a few days of picking up my vehicle -- after minimal driving -- a warning light appeared. The shop advised that the thermostat needed to be replaced, but the warranty company denied the claim, stating the thermostat was still functioning and not failing. This raised concerns for me, as the issue appeared immediately after a repair that required the cooling system to be opened. When I returned to discuss this, I did not feel heard or respected. As a woman, the interaction felt dismissive and at times patronizing. After I raised concerns about the lack of clear communication and what appeared to be significant part markups, the situation escalated. The staff member, Hanna, became abrasive and unprofessional and had to be told to calm down. The owner later stated that the work had been completed "to the best of their ability," but I was still left with concerns, additional stress, and a repair experience that did not feel fully resolved. In total, I paid around $3,500, and while I understand that complex repairs can have challenges, customers deserve transparency, accountability, and respectful communication -- especially when new issues arise immediately after service. I strongly recommend that others ask detailed questions, get everything documented, and fully understand what is being done and why before proceeding with repairs at this shop. read more

Had high hopes to find an honest repair shop in the area....unfortunately if you're looking for one, this is not the place. Before coming in, I asked how long the wait would be and was told about an hour. I ended up waiting almost 3 hours and the ladies behind the counter were not friendly and condescending. So fast forward nearly 5 hours later from when I arrived, I was told that I needed some repair and given how much they quoted, I decided to get a second opinion and I'm glad I did. I checked with several other shops and they were surprised not only that ABA would recommend the repair because they found nothing wrong. On top of that, ABA wanted to charge nearly 35% more than other shops, if the repair was needed. ABA was definitely trying to take advantage and upsell a repair that wasn't even needed in the first place. In short, if you need an honest repair shop, I would not recommend this place. I have always loved ABA but I have stopped going there because they are so SLOW, promised dates are missed and they lack customer service. I have recommended these guys recently and they charge the person I recommended way too much money for services. I got no referral intuitive or anything, not even a thank you phone call. Great service! Hannah answered all of my questions over the phone which brought me into the shop after obtaining quotes from other shops. It was a bit of a drive from where I was and other auto shops were definitely closer but this one had the best pricing for an oil change which included an inspection and a new oil filter (yay)! It does look a little rough on the outside, but the inside is cozy with options for coffee, tee, and some candy. Everyone was nice and they even guided me out of the lot when someone parked right in front of me (I guess they were making a quick stop & didn't know I was leaving at the same time). The best part is that I paid exactly what I went there for and what I was quoted. The Best Brian and his crew are fantastic to work with. I brought my car in for some electrical issues, rodent related! He spent a day and a half looking for the problem and couldn't find anything wrong other than a possible connection issue. They called me several times with a status report. He obviously didn't charge me for all the hours. If I have any problems I am to bring it back and they'll investigate further at no charge. Nice, honest, professional people. After getting a VERY used car for my daughter, we were nervous especially when multiple lights were on the dashboard. Called a few places, didn't feel good. Finally spoke to Brian at ABA auto, I was skeptical but brought the car in after he patiently talked me through a few of the issues over the phone. The shop is located on a long empty road despite the address looking familiar (evergreen). I even drove past it because it's not very visible, pushed back on a dirt road etc. After doing a u-turn and driving on gravel we finally arrived, for some reason had a dukes of hazard feel when I walked in, but anyways. Brian was at the counter, friendly as ever and I felt at ease like were in good hands and not being conned because we're women. Left the car there and got a call later detailing the issue we suspected and gave the green light to fix it. Picked up the car and my daughter had a big smile on her face when we arrived home, she said it drove like a new car! That was over a month ago and still no issues. Don't buy a used car from ABA. You'll shortly be paying them to fix it. At least take it to another mechanic and have it checked out first, as one should with any used car. No warranty, so don't do like I did and waste thousands. A year later (and less than 1k miles) and it's still just a curb ornament. :( read more

ABA was recommended to me by a trusted friend, so when my classic car wouldn't start, I had it towed 13 miles to the shop. Upon arrival, I nearly had the driver turn around to take my car elsewhere. The lot was crowded, in full sun (it was near 90°) and nothing but dirt and gravel. A giant dust cloud drifted by as someone drove past. Not exactly the environment I expose my car to, but I eventually decided to leave it after I was assured it would be well taken care of. Ben could use better customer service skills, but Michelle (?) was great. My apologies for not remembering her name. Turned out the starting problem was just a battery, which I thought had been ruled out by AAA, so ok, fine, get me a new battery. They told me I needed a new power steering pump and that they had found some other leaks (transmission seal, valve covers) and that I could use new brake hoses. These old cars take three hoses: one each side on the front, and one on the back. I was charged for FOUR hoses, and they did not work on the back. I didn't say anything before I paid the bill because I'm not well-versed in the subject. I have since checked with another mechanic to make sure my story is straight. I knew I needed tires, and Brian assured me it was rare that anyone could beat his price, so I went ahead and agreed to let him get me some BF Goodrich Radial TA's, even though there were closer tire shops to take it to for any rotations or warranty service. I was told this would all cost $1750. I ok'd the repairs and was told that they'd send me an email with details. I never received an email. I was later contacted and told that my water pump was leaking and the price would bump up to $2000. I wasn't expecting to pay so much to get my car going, but said ok. I went to pick up my car and was told it was clean and ready to go. "Oh, they washed it?" "No, but it looks good." In all actuality, it looked worse than when I brought it in and needed a complete interior and exterior detail because of all the dust and fingerprints. I removed the paper floor mat and plastic sheeting from my seat to throw away and it looked like they put the paper mat down AFTER they noticed they were getting my floor mat dirty. I was skeptical of the "new" power steering pump because of all the dirt and oil on it. They told me it was blow-by from antifreeze after they installed the water pump. Sure. I later learned that I could have gotten my set of tires at a (closer-to-home) Discount Tire location for $79 less. My total bill came to $2093. Nearly a hundred dollars more than what I was told after it bumped up to $2000. Besides all that, my invoice has my last name misspelled, my address wrong, the year of my car wrong, and the engine wrong. I can only hope the parts they ordered were the correct ones. Of course, when they don't actually put them on, I guess it doesn't matter. I absolutely got ripped off and won't be going back to ABA, but it most likely won't matter to them. They'll just get another pile of suckers to take my place. read more

We chose to use ABA due to their great reviews. The first repair went great, but other reviewers are correct. They don't keep in touch. We had to keep calling to get updates. When we picked the car up, the work was great, the price fair, but there were dirty handprints all over my brand new driver side carseat cover. The 2nd part of maintenance work we took our car in for a few weeks later, we were told be ready "tomorrow afternoon". No phone call, we had to call them a day later, still not done. Went in to pick-up, wrong charges on bill for repairs, charged for parts we did not ask for and now there was also a dirty greasy handprint on my passenger side new seat cover. If you have time for a repair and pay attention to what you tell them to do, you'll get a decent repair/replace job. It also helps if someone in your family is an ex-mechanic and knows exactly what to tell them and what fair prices are. read more

So I noticed my 97 Dodge Ram 1500 had a little moisture on the bottom by the transmission pan. We took It in to aba. Not only did they inspect, what seem to be a leak in in the back The pan. They found that front sway bar end links and bushings were showing ware. Also drive belt was showing ware. And I needed a new battery. They replaced stabilizer bar bushing., serpentine and v-belt. Brake fluid flush. Coolant flush. Automatic transmission fluid flush. It took them about a day and a half to finish. Runs like a new truck now!. I brought my Ridgeline in due to warning lights accompanied by slow acceleration. It took about 1 week to fix it as it was the oil pressure switch, and the wrong one was ordered which caused additional delays. When I picked up the car, it still had engine lights, though this is not their fault because it was intermittent. I brought it back to fix the lights and it only took 1 day and was free of charge. The people were friendly gave status updates daily. I like their couches in the waiting room, its comfy. Overall 4/5 initially I was upset with how long it took to fix the initial issue, but they redeemed themselves with good customer service. Excellent job overall. read more

I went here for a full synthetic oil change ($68). I called a week ahead to schedule the appointment, and it took about a hour to complete. They have a guest WiFi's network and plenty of seating in the waiting area. The driveway and front door were a little hard to identify as there isn't much signage for the shop. The front door is marked only by a small 'front office' sign. The service was good, I don't get the impression the inspection overall was very thorough as nothing really came up. Not that I want the laundry list other places give you when they try to talk you into unnecessary repairs. I haven't changed the filters in my car in well over a year so they've gotta be due but it wasn't mentioned or listed on the report. Not super critical or a deal breaker. I'm just used to more thorough inspections at my last shop. Overall, ABA could use a scrub and better ventilation but that's pretty standard for auto shops. The service was polite and straightforward and the prices were reasonable. They were a little under staffed for the volume of phone calls coming in but being busy is usually a good sign. I will definitely go back for my next oil change/repair. read more

So nice to ask a mechanic about a basic engine fix and get a full explanation of the parts and labor required. I've had responses from mechanics be anywhere from rolling eyes at my stupidity to the worst; shuffling feet on the shop floor looking confused, then, "Uh... let me get back to you on that?" I have a 2008 Mercedes that been at ABA since 3/16/2021 today's date is 4/30/21(6 weeks and counting) I appreciate them wanting to fix the transmission issue and save me money in the process but I can't wait for them to try this and that while more days go by. After many calls and a few visits I'm starting to feel I'm being avoided. I'm avoiding bringing names into this review (so far). I just want the car back by mid week 5/5/21 if they can't fix so I can move on.
