Last week, I took the car to another shop that 'actually' road-tested it. They said they could hear the front-end noises before leaving the parking lot but wanted to test the car thoroughly. Upon returning from the road test, they put the car on the rack and found that the bottom bolt on the right-side stabilizer link was not torqued down enough. The noise went away after tightening the nut (at no charge). They said there was no way the vehicle should have left Precision making those noises. I wish I had gotten a second opinion before spending almost $3K with Precision Import Repair! Lesson learned!!! read more

So called inspection stated items like windshield wipers and interior cabin air filter needed to be replaced. If the technician had taken the time to look, he would have noticed that these items had been replaced a week ago. And to make matters worse, they charged me $150.00 for diagnostics. What ever happened to honesty and integrity? How can I believe or trust any recommendations from your shop? I will NOT be returning any of my vehicles to your shop. read more

I brought my van here for new motor mounts, transmission mount, and a power steering flush. When I picked it up and was driving out of the parking lot I realized the speedometer wasn't working. I was in a hurry and couldn't go back in so I called and he said yes, they noticed that the check engine light also came on after the repair, and they'd be happy to take a look if I would bring it back in. Further down the road I realized the odometer was also not working, and later also learned that the gas gauge was broken. I brought it back in where they looked at it and determined that they were not at fault and they would not fix it. The mechanic even tried to lie to me and say that he took it for a test drive and those things all worked. I get that these things happen and there's a tiny possibility that it was a coincidence. But they handled this horribly. I am a single mom going through a horrible divorce and now I have to somehow come up with the money to pay someone to fix their mistake. read more

I have been going to see Eric and his team for over 20 years. They are reliable, honest, and straightforward. I started going to his shop to get a second opinion on repairs. When I told him what the mechanic said, he said that part isn't on your car and the issue was about 5 times less the cost. I appreciate their teams friendliness and understanding of budget constraints. We've been going here for almost 4 years, unfortunately service has changed a lot recently. I want to be fair and say I feel like the entire country is wanting to fix their older vehicles as interest rates stay high, but it feels like they are overbooked and don't have the staff to do the job. Poor experience last few times where we even drove off and instantly had a light turn on and car started shaking. The loaner vehicles were a nightmare and new employees seem overwhelmed. We likely won't be coming back and are in the market for a new car because the shops are just flooded with cars and work they can't do like before. read more

Our truck was stolen last summer and since then it's had a slow leak of some oil. We tried to check it ourselves saw that Precision had great reviews so we took it to them for an oil change and a full inspection. When we dropped it off the clerk was very nice and assured us it would be a full inspection and they would let us know. Before we picked it up we asked if there were any findings and they said no. We were surprised bc we know there's some kind of leak and so we even told the person on the phone to please have the rear differential looked at specifically bc it's a 20 year old truck. When we picked it up they said still no findings but we owed $200 for the inspection. We got the truck home and are having the same issue. We will be taking it somewhere else to get this fixed. If you have a car problem and looking for someone to repair it CALL Precision Import Repair! Here is reasoning why! Meineke stripped the threads off my oil plug and told me I needed to replace the oil pan, which was gonna cost $700. Called 3 other places, they all told me I needed to replace my oil plan which was gonna cost about $600. I finally called Precision Import Repair, and instead of replacing my oil plan they re-threaded my oil plug that cost far less than replacing the oil pain. They have amazing customer service and are the most honest people I have ever met. read more

Took my truck in, they had it for at least couple hours looking for a reason for my vibration. They determined it was tire related. Didn't charge me. They are honest and appreciate your business. I brought a used car in for a pre-purchase inspection. Everyone wore a mask. They estimated an hour, and they were finished in an hour or less. Eric explained everything they found (which fortunately wasn't much). There was no pressure to come back for more work, and in fact they only made recommendations after I asked which ones were worth fixing. They said they'd suggest replacing the battery soon, and that the other two things weren't worth addressing. They also have a very comfortable waiting room with WiFi, where I was able to work during the inspection. The inspection was also surprisingly affordable relative to other shops in the area. My, how far this company has fallen. Well, perhaps not the entire company, but certainly the folks I dealt with recently. Any time in the past several years I'd have given the company 5 stars. Now, however, just the one. Even with an appointment, my car was ignored for almost 2 work days because it was a tow-in. That's right - the tow outweighed a scheduled appointment for priority. The so-called service manager (well, cashier/clerk) was arrogant, lied to my wife (said they were "charging the alternator" - really!), and was preparing a new alternator to install even though their own diagnostics said mine was fine (I thought it was faulty - that's why I had the car towed in.) I also find being charged almost $75 for them removing and then putting back the battery is excessive. (The alternator is on the opposite side of the car - no reason to have removed the battery.) There were other issues as well, but suffice to say it's not worth dealing with company that lost my trust. Incidentally, make sure they give you an estimate - either during drop-off or emailed to you, as they are required to do. (ORS § 646A. 482. Section 646A. 482.) read more

My heater stopped blowing in the morning and I drove straight here with no appointment. They saw my car right away, discovered the problem, got the part same day, advised me on maintanence things that I didn't know, put new wipers on it, all at a very fair price. I think I might have came out like a bandit. I came in before when it happened with my AC but it started working again when it was with them and they didn't charge me anything, despite doing diagnostics. The gentleman at the counter is so nice, I can't even put it into words. The office is very nice, comfortable and complimentary refreshment. This is my only go to mechanic from now on. Had a Toytec lift installed today on my 2016 Toyota 4Runner Limited that I ordered myself. The old suspension was a special type and connected with hydraulic lines(X-REAS) and that needed to be removed, and replaced with the new front coilovers, rear shocks, and rear springs. Also needed the differential, sway bar, and radiator lowered/relocated for the lift to not cause damage to the vehicle. Am very pleased with how soon they got me in(next morning!) and with how efficient they are and the work they performed. All the other shops I could find were booked out into November, and/or hadn't worked with the Toyota X-REAS system before. If I need anything else done, will be back, and will send friends! Sorry that our household's 3 vehicles are all less than 2 months old, as we hopefully won't be needing repairs for awhile. read more

Went in with 1991 honda crx, would not pass deq, went in they quickly found the issue. Replacement of timing belt, and cam seal an crank seal recommended. Replaced car ran better but still did not pass deq. They recommended spark plugs if if did not pass deq. I had just installed what napa said were the correct plugs. They gave me a list of recommended plugs. Purchased an car passed deq. I liked the service an will most definitely be returning. read more

I recently had my 1999 Toyota 4Runner serviced here after the check engine light went on. Having pulled the codes myself already, I had a general idea what the problem was, but Precision did a decent job narrowing down and troubleshooting the exact issue. So what's the issue, you may ask? Well, when the failed part (a MAF sensor) was replaced, I was charged $227.50 for the part. This sounded a bit expensive to me, considering that an aftermarket part costs no more than $100, but the initial reason I was given was that a genuine Toyota part was used. Okay, that works. Just to verify though, I stopped by Beaverton Toyota on my way back to work, and to my surprise, they had the part in stock at $188. And that's off the shelf, retail price, not a discounted price that repair shops have access to as a result of their volume business. To be fair, I have no problem whatsoever with the shop keeping their volume discount as part of their profit margin--that's business. But marking up the parts cost well beyond that smacks of gouging the customer. Maybe that's standard practice here, but the mechanic who works on my other makes doesn't mark up beyond list price. To summarize--service here is fine, but as a result of the pricing practices, I won't be coming back. I would suggest anyone doing business here be very aware of what you're charged for your parts. read more

I've been taking my truck to Precision Import Repair since about 2010 after multiple bad experiences with the dealership. They are incredibly honest, do great work, and back up their work with a guarantee. They tell me when I don't need something done - they've told me not to worry about a noise my car was making but said to come in if it got worse. It never got worse and my car runs great to this day. They don't add extra services to pad their bottom line - no "power" flushes or "power" cleans. They take the time to listen to you instead of rushing you through and are very polite. They pause when you talk and don't talk over you. The thing I love the best is their shuttle car. Unlike dealerships that use new cars, their shuttle is an old Subaru that they rebuilt. It gives me confidence that if they can keep an old car running, they should be able to keep my car going. read more

A few weeks ago I e mailed on a Sunday for quote for a rear brake job for a 2014 Subaru Forester. Nothing returned so I called on the next Thursday I was told they respond the in 1 day or sooner. So I asked how much and was quoted $375 for pads and rotor resurfacing, however most likely I would need new rotors for approx. $ 200 more. So 1 up selling before they even looked at the car, the rotors had never been resurfaced which in 99% of the time you can turn the surface 1 to 2 times. Bottom line BS from this guy. I had numerous quotes ranging from $204 Wentworth Subaru, to $250 Royalle Moore Which by the why took 4 hours for a oil change, left my battery cover loose in the engine compartment and would not even rotate 1 side of my tires because of a stripped lug nut. Other independents ranged $300 to 500. In summary the dealer is more competitive than most shops that being Wentworth which has great service and a great waiting area but most of all integrity when asked for what is needed. read more
