They took it in and concluded that we needed a new alternator. They replaced the alternator and we picked up the car. On the drive home, the car completely stopped working while I was driving downhill on Burnside. (Everything stopped working: radio, a/c, lights.) I was able to pull into a driveway before everything went out (it happened over the span of about 15 seconds). Even after I pulled into the driveway, I couldn't put the car in park, turn on the emergency brake, turn on hazards, etc. It was a very scary and unsafe position for me to be in. I called the auto shop and they said they couldn't get to me for half an hour, but they gave me a number to call for a towing service they work with. I called the number and the towing company couldn't get to me for an hour. I called back the auto shop and updated them on the situation. Someone from the auto shop came and took over holding down the brake in the car and waiting for the towing service. They then were able to take it back to the shop and they learned that there was a visible crack in the negative port of the battery and that is what was causing the problem. We decided to take the car home and fix the issue ourselves because it was actually a very simple thing to fix and we had lost trust in this auto shop. They did eat the costs of the new alternator and the towing service. But the fact that they didn't realize that the crack in the battery port thing was the problem before they put in a new alternator was very disappointing and if I didn't react faster, it could have put me and others in lots of danger. I will say the service was great. The people I talked to on the phone and at the auto shop were all very sweet and until my car stopped working, I was planning on giving them a 5-star review.

Chris said he would do it for me and he would drop the car off in the O'Reilly parking lot after he was done (which is exactly what he did). Came in for a new transmission, broken AC and a leaking tire. Was told it would be a week, which sounds good as that was every time line we were told from other places we called. A week goes by and the parts still weren't in, again I mean that's just shipping and it happens, can't really blame the shop. After a week and a half they install the new transmission, but said there was something wrong so they kept working on it. Another week goes by and they say they need to order ANOTHER trans. At this point we are very frustrated as we needed this vehicle back 3 weeks ago. But I mean who knows what is really going on so we just hang tight. Finally, a MONTH later, we get a text that the trans was replaced and good to go but they didn't have time to fully fix the ac. Didn't have time? You had it for a month and decided until the last day to look at the AC. They replaced the blower motor but said they would have to take the whole thing out and didn't have time for it, so it was ultimately a temporary fix for a full charge. After asking for a price break down he gave us $150 off. Woopie after a $7,500 ordeal that didn't feel sufficient. They then charged our card for the second half of our bill after we explicitly said "we do not authorize this charge" and we also don't remember saying they could save the card on file..... if that wasn't all enough to make us never come back we then find out the tire was never fixed after it went flat on the road a few days later. To which the guy says "looks like I forgot" !!! Now the AC stopped working because again it was never actually fixed in the first place. Truly unacceptable from start to finish. They clearly do not care about doing a good job and just want your money. He asked us multiple times to pay the remaining balance before we even picked up the vehicle or had any work done. Avoid at all costs.

When I scheduled the repair, he did not ever request for me to prepurchase anything. I braced myself when Rene called me on the day of the repair. But to my surpise he said "we don't see anything wrong with this clutch". He test drove it, had another team member test drive it, and determined that any repair was unnecessary. I also added a comprehensive exam (which they offered at a discounted rate) for them to look at my car as a whole and to let me know what things might need repair now and in the near future. They were able to see my car within a week of me reaching out for an appt, and they only kept my car for ~5 hours. They tried everything they could to find the source of my leak, but when they couldn't, they referred me to Liberty Water Leak, who was fantastic and found the sources of my leak and water damage within a few hours. With the comprehensive exam, they listed each item that needed repair and were not pushy AT ALL. They also answered all of my questions, yes... even the dumb ones. There was an oversight where my wiper cowlings were not installed correctly, so I did leave an honest review on SureCritic saying that I wasn't sure if I'd trust them with further repairs due to that mistake. Within a week of posting that review, the shop called me to apologize and discuss what happened. On top of that, they refunded me my entire bill. I understand now why Tom Dwyer Auto has such good reviews-- They genuinely care about their customers and producing quality work.
