After I went to pick the car up and filled it up with gas, but it shows low fuel. The bottom is after Vu went to fix it again.
    Rose M.

**Cost: $$$ **Seating: The waiting area is very small and so there are only four seats. **Location: It's nestled next to a bunch of other auto type workshops and close to several dealerships in Beaverton. **Service: He was pleasant and explained the issue with my car to me. **Experience: I intended to get my car checked out here some time ago based on the high amount of good reviews. Unfortunately, I had to get car towed here after it shutdown in the middle of the highway. I was thrilled that when I called Vu said he could look at it. It took him about 1hr and 15 minutes to look at my car and diagnose it as having an issue with the fuel pump. He also said something was up with my knock sensor after he saw that the check engine light was on and he checked the code. He quoted me at $450 and said he had to order the fuel pump and that it would be there between 2-4 days. This was a Monday btw. On Wednesday at around 3:25pm, he called and said my car was ready. I went to get it on Thursday at 11:00 am. Vu handed me the keys, an invoice, and said there is a one year warranty on the part. He also told me I was very low on gas, so I immediately went to fill up the tank. Something odd I noticed is that the smell of gasoline in my car and the gas pump stopped at 7 gallons when it normally takes ~11 gallons to fill my tank. Then when I turned my car on, I noticed that the low gas light was still on and that the gas meter didn't move even after putting a significant amount in there. I went back to talk to Vu and he went to go check it out. After about an hour he fixed the issue and so far nothing seems to be out of order. Will update in the future if anything happens.

Ridiculously overpriced, I received a quote that was overpriced at $800 plus for a oil pressure sensor replacement. Save your time.

Vu is friendly, knowledgeable and can get me in if it's something pretty urgent. He was referred to me by my son and my son's family friend.

Be sure to get a written estimate, and insist on a receipt that details parts and labor provided.

Vu is the BEST! I have a 4runner and BMW and he's looked at both cars. Highly recommend and trust. Won't go anywhere else.

Ask the Community - Vu's Auto Repair

How much does a smog check cost?

    Are they open on Sunday's?

No, I don't think so. Vu has gone out of his way on a holiday weekend to accommodate us.

I moved here from WNC where I'd been going to the same dealer repair shop for 20 years. Finding a…read morecar repair shop you can trust when moving to a new city across the country is more stressful than finding a new doctor! I considered going to the Subaru dealer in Beaverton but I gravitated to Brock Automotive because of their stellar, glowing reviews. Glad I did. First, scheduling online is easy and they text you confirmations and reminders. They also respond to texts quickly and efficiently. Note that you will likely need to drop off your vehicle as they are very busy - another good sign! - and though I needed to leave my Subaru overnight, the repairs were done in a reasonable amount of time for the services required. What I also like is their system of 'needs attention, could wait, and doesn't need work' that is color-coded on their estimate sheet by Red, Yellow, and Green; as well the costs for the repairs are clear on that sheet. You can then decide what you want done, approve it, and they will begin the work on your car. My estimate is just what I paid, so zero surprises. Immediately walking in to their shop office, I was greeted cheerily and nicely by Coy--I felt comfortable and relaxed. Picking up my car, I was greeted by an owner, who was equally as cheerful and nice. My car was waiting for me right out front when I exited the office - everything was clean just as I'd left it. Awesome friendly people.

I had a bittersweet experience at Brock Automotive. There was an error in the service but they…read moretried to make it right. Mistakes happen but good establishments own up to it and take care of their customer. I recently took my 2010 Porsche 911 to them for a simple oil change and brake fluid flush. The first error was that they overfilled the oil which they were good about fixing with a drain and refill. But the tech who tried to fix it forgot to put a crush washer on the plug and I was leaking oil from my drain plug. I got it rectified at a different shop that found that the crush washer was missing and I had to redo the oil change. The general manager Mark and the owner's son James were fair and honest and refunded me a portion of my bill and gave me the assurance it wouldn't happen again and that they would personally oversee things if I were to get the service done again with them. To be completely honest I wasn't expecting a mistake like this for a simple oil change but mistakes happen in business it's about how you react to it.
