Megan and Dean are wonderful, highly recommend them for your VWAG vehicle! This review is long overdue, I got connected with Futrell about 4 years ago after having picked up a VW Golf that supposedly had some aftermarket modifications that the dealer couldn't offer clarity on. After sending the VIN out to a handful of shops, Dean was one of few who responded, had worked on the vehicle, and was able to clear up some details. Since then, I've chosen Futrell as my go-to for routine and incidental maintenance. I especially appreciate their transparency, which is the most important aspect of interaction with a business for me. For more basic stuff, I prefer to do some of my own maintenance. In one case, there was an aspect of routine maintenance that we hadn't discussed when I dropped my vehicle off. Megan called to discuss that with me before the work was executed, giving me agency in whether or not I would handle that aspect of the service myself - something I really appreciated. In another case, I was dealing with a dying Turbo. Megan was very responsive in getting me an estimate and, since timing was a critical component of my decision making process, outlined projected timelines / availability for the repair. Megan wound up referring me to another shop across town that was able to get me back on the road sooner. I've previously dealt with other shops that try to secure paying work by telling the customer what they want to hear while failing to meet those expectations, the team at Futrell are looking out for what's in their clients' best interests and for that they have my loyalty. read more

I sensed that my 2010 Audi wasn't performing as usual. I took the car to Futrells Autowerks for an evaluation. They determined that it needed a new turbo charger. I was worried about getting a foreign car part before the tariffs kicked in but they went the extra mile and quickly ordered the part for me. They gave me a quote for the work and a time frame necessary for the repair. They not only met the time frame but the work came in lower priced than quoted. I was given wonderful personal service. I got a tour of the shop and I'm in awe. Thank you Meghan! Their lobby and waiting room reflect their passions for unusual guitars, skateboards, and Star Wars memorabilia. I would say that German made cars are their biggest passion. My car works like a charm as they went over and above with extra tasks that a car this old needed. I will never go to the dealer again. Futrell's has a customer for life as this is my forever car. read more

The absolute best customer service and efficient. Accommodating, honest and doesn't try to over sell, which can be a challenge to find in this industry. I highly recommend for anyone needing to service their Audi. Futrell is solid! read more

5 Star Awesomeness Newish to the area, I'd been in search of a knowledgeable & reliable Audi shop. Well I just found a VAG GEM!!! From Meghan at the desk, to my tech & Dean the owner, I was seriously blown away at the level of efficiency, expertise, passion & friendliness! I'd been calling around for a couple of days as I was ready to move on from the stealership to support local businesses as well! I wasn't impressed with the interactions I had with other shops & luckily I found Futrell's! I sent an IG DM the night before & by 8am Dean had replied that they could get me in that day! Other shops had me waiting a month! Not only did they do my routine maintenance in under 1.5hrs, but Dean even took the time to computer tweak a couple of settings for me, gratis, to make my driving experience even sweeter! These folks clearly love what they're doing & it shows!! I found a new caretaker for my girl & I couldn't be happier!!! read more

The owner has been pretty rude the two times I was there for work on my car. I've spent a lot of money there, but will be taking my business elsewhere. Very disappointing! read more

I have been here on three occasions since my original review (come to think of it, I don't know if that is a good thing), and have a fourth scheduled in a couple weeks. But regardless if it is a good thing, it is nice to have Dean and his staff available to work on my car. Completely professional, very helpful, incredibly knowledgeable. Dean has worked with me personally multiple times in helping coordinate my drop-off or pick-up of my car after hours given the distance I live from his shop. His willingness to stay late or meet on weekends has given me the ability to continue to use his business. And whether it is 7:30pm or on a Saturday (when his business technically isn't open), he always has a smile on his face. Oh yeah, in addition to the VWAG cars he's always worked on, he is now an authorized Dinan dealer (congrats, Dean!). So bring your BMW to him for service or tuning, if Munich-based cars are your thing. Top notch. Best of the best. read more

Came in for the APR stage 1 tune for my 2016 Q5 2.0. Dean was extremely informative and friendly. Say with me and answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. All in all it was a little less than an hour in and out. I will for sure be using them in the future for whatever I choose to do next with my Audi. Also, there's a lot of German automotive eye candy. read more

This is the only place we will be bringing our vehicles from know on. Dean and the entire staff are just awesome. Had the best prices around for changing my brakes on our Touareg. Dean was incredible from first contact. Gave me all the prices up front and was clear on what was needed and what could wait. Do not look anywhere else to take your Vehicle. They have earned my business for life and we appreciate each of them. read more

Back in 2008 I had an S4 with the 2.7 biturbo that (surprise) needed the turbos replaced... Dean and his team were beyond helpful! The work was amazing and there was never any question about the quality of service provided. Unfortunately I had to sell the car. The jerk I sold it too gave it to his kids who are well know for blowing up cars and about two weeks later the guy came to me claiming the car was blown up due to poor service... clearly this was a load of crap but Dean still took it in and fixed it... he didn't have to do this but it just shows you how much he stands behind his work... That said they guy got the car back and his kids blew it up again but that time he didn't say a word... Dean, you rock!! read more

Dean Futrell knows his stuff, seems extremely honest and is very competent. Highly recommended if you want any work/advice on your Audi (particularly compared to the corporate lackeys at Sunset Audi). I've got an Audi A3 (that I love) and the jokers at Sunset pretend that car doesn't burn oil at a much faster than the recommended oil change cycle. Well known and documented problem that Sunset won't acknowledge for fear of warranty issues and the like. You'd never get such nonsense at Futrell. Instead, you'd get good advice. read more

My husband recently purchased a new Audi and didn't realize he would need winter tires for it when he bought it (whoops). He was introduced to Dean, the owner, by a coworker and Dean helped him sort through all of his available options and make the right choice based on our budget. He put in an absurd amount of back and forth via email before we even committed to work with them, which speaks highly to his character and motivation to ensure people get exactly what we need. Ultimately, working with Dean is saving us hundreds of dollars vs. what the dealership wanted to charge us for the a lesser product. Dean even helped us find a mechanic for our aging VW van, which he definitely had no obligation to do! read more

I called them today to get some suggestions on lowering my 2013 A3. During my phonecall I was asking questions in regard to springs vs coilovers and the guy (Dean I think) straight up told me on the phone I was asking too many questions and that if I was going to challenge his recommendations that this was not the shop for me.... Uh, I was under the impression that the reason a tuning shop exists is to guide customers and to help educate them if they are not car experts. I will definitely be going to their completion to get my car lowered and also will make sure to steer all my friends away from them for future tuner needs. read more

Super knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. The prices are fair and you know your car is being worked on by a pro. The waiting room is pretty cool too. read more

See all

These folks take care of the customer. Good prices, friendly interactions, quick, responsive, honest. I'm always happy with the service and professionalism here. The shop and waiting room and restroom are clean as well. read more

Great service! Friendly and fast! Went above and beyond in helping me with an issue I couldn't resolve on my own.

Dean knows his stuff better than any shop I have ever been to. He diagnosed a problem with my Audi that the dealership could not, even after five visits. The problem was that the dealer had installed plugs that were not the right ones for the car and did not verify the gaps prior to the instal. The gaps were a few thousandth over the max factory spec. I live in north Vancouver, but they are well worth the drive. I have not been happy with Audi East Side's service. They mean well, but I think their techs are just not as good as they should be. I have been completely satisfied with Futrell's competence and the APR software & down pipe that have installed for me. I plan on having them do a full turbo upgrade and suspension for me. read more

Its rare that I give 5 stars but these guys understand what customer service is. Great service. Futrell's also knows their stuff. Very knowledgeable on VWs and have been able to fix our Jetta right the first time and on budget. Highly recommend this shop! read more

I couldn't be more pleased with the service I got from Dean and all the guys at Futrell Autowerks. Very professional, very friendly and prompt service at a good price. I couldn't imagine taking my Golf R anywhere else. read more

I've had several stages of work done on my 1999.5 Jetta VR6. Dean and Mitch have always been very helpful and willing to talk through options for what I wanted to do to my car, including stearing me away from some bad choices and giving me realistic expectiations. Rates are fair, and they have always been speedy with the job. I've always found that they charge less billable hours than most places for the same work, so its actually a great deal. read more

I recently took my 12 year old Audi to Futrell and was blown away by their service! They got me in next day, without any notice. I brought the car in with the doomed "mysterious noise" from the engine bay, with no idea what was causing it. The guys diagnosed it quickly (and correctly!). I also had the instrument cluster replaced, and a few other things estimated. Michael was my contact throughout, and he did a lot of thorough research for me on the estimates-list. He was in constant communication and was incredibly thorough. While we waited for the instrument cluster to arrive, Futrell performed several courtesy inspections on the car to make sure everything was in order. He discovered that my tires were badly worn on the inside edge, due to my own poor adherence to tire pressure. I had not noticed this, being on the inside edge, and they were in dangerous shape. Michael tracked down all kinds of price options for me and even offered to have a tire guy come and perform the install before I picked the car up. The final price was exactly as quoted on the first morning. No surprises. I trust these guys 100% and will bring my car back every time. read more

Even though I have no money left, Dean continues to find ways for me to spend it in his shop. "What about the Capital One card? Surely there's an extra $5k left for those big brakes and wheels." he says. There is no resisting his smooth talking ways. Now I've got about the sickest GTI one can have and I love it. Every recommendation has been spot on. All expectations have been met. I will not take my car anywhere else....even though his shop is way the f@#k out in BFE. read more

Superb service here, took my 2014 Audi A4 here for tuning and was able to book an appointment same day and be out the door within an hour of arriving. This is the 2nd Audi I've taken here and all around been happy with service and results. Would recommend to anyone looking for tuning, great company. read more

I have a '16 Golf R & I've spent quite a bit money in this place & every single dollar has been worth it. Dean & his team are excellent. Great service. All the parts enhancements work perfectly on my car & my car is beast mode. One of the parts needed took longer than expected to come in & I had no other mode of transport so they let me borrow one of their cars until the work was done. I'll def be taking my VW there for future repairs (if needed) or for future mods. read more

WOW top notch service in every aspect!! The lounge is relaxing and a great place to wait with beautiful guitars and amps video game systems air conditioning also Just great automotive memorabilia and sweet cars to look at everywhere! I left over satisfied! the technicians gave great service and literally they did everything up and above expectations. I got a general service but also deep diagnostics and all the information about my GTI I could take in! Offered drinks and smiles right when I walked in! Autowerks isn't just a great place it's THE GREAT PLACE! Truly setting a standard of work practices that is just never seen anymore in any sector! Summary?..... me fuckin happy! read more

I stopped by to get a diagnostic run on my car. The man behind the counter was less than friendly or helpful. He seemed bothered that I was troubling him by stopping by. He treated me like I knew nothing of cars and was an idiot due to my lack of technical knowledge. Of course I don't know much about cars, that's why I'm at a repair shop trying to pay somebody to help me. I would not recommend this shop read more

If you want your car tuned, they'd love to do it. For maintenance and repairs, although I'm sure the technical skill is top notch, I've found customer service lacking at times. read more

This place is fantastic. They specialize in performance tuning and repair for Audi's and VW's. The owner really knows his stuff and is extremely helpful in how to get the most out of your Audi or VW without spending a huge wad of dough. I've had nothing but great experiences out of this place. They are honest and helpful and want to earn your business so that you'll come back again and again. That's the way to do business in the auto world! read more

I tend to ask too many questions when I am trying to figure out who is going to work on my car. I have to say that the owner has been very patient with me and even if I end up not getting a tune through these guys, I wanted to leave a positive review. The owner has answered my questions with informative answers and I appreciate a business investing their time into a customer that has not spent a dime yet. If end up getting a tune it will most likely be here! read more

Dean and his team do fantastic work. I recently installed a $16k upgrade on my vehicle -- there was no upselling at any time. Rather, Dean pushed me away from elements I didn't need. What you are going to get at Futrell is an extremely knowledgeable team that is oriented towards customer service before, during, and after your experience with them. read more

I'm so happy a friend saw me whining about not being able to find an honest, knowledgeable VW shop anywhere and recommended I try Futrell. I had been to Green Drop who always charge the same as a dealership, sometimes more, for the hipster vibe. No thanks. They never seemed to really know my car either. I tried the dealership in Beaverton - even worse! Charge like a dealership but add on trying to tell me that my entire car needs replacing. $3000 of repairs needed on my $1,500 2001 Beetle?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR DAMN MIND?! Futrell tried to find the cheapest fix for all of my car's issues. They could have totally lied and just replaced a bunch of shit and charged me a thousand bucks like everywhere else has done (I tried 3 shops back east too). Instead they sent me home and told me to start putting top tier gas in to see if it would fix it. It ended up being fine for 5 months, but the engine light needed more diagnosing. It was just a couple of cracked pipes for a couple hundred bucks. They also changed out my emergency brake handle cover for $50, when every other place quoted me $500+! Say what?! They all claimed they couldn't figure out how to just fix the cover alone, that they would have to pull the whole assembly out. Liars. I also like that Michael kept me up to date every step of the way with emails of pictures, estimates, and explanations. They don't upcharge you on the hourly labor costs either, they'll actually give you the half hour instead of rounding up! Unheard of :) Michael sent me to Advantage Collision Center for some body work, and they are equally great! read more

This place rocks! They are friendly, professional and know what they're doing. They let you know what you need, give you an estimate and you don't feel like they're ripping you off. I've always been able to get a same day appointment and they're extremely efficient. Dean is the best and I won't take my VW elsewhere! Highly recommended. read more

Futrell is a great shop! I've had the check my alignment a couple times, once it was barely off and they charged me $50 and the other it wasn't and it was free. Went to les schwab before here and they messed my alignment up and charged me $90. For anything that is German they do a great job! Will be going here for future mods. read more

Dean and Mike are great they get the job done. New to the area and had no idea where to go to take in my Audi for service. So I looked things up on yelp to see and what do you know Futrell Autowerks came up. I took her in they were able to take care of me without any problems. Thanks. read more

Since I have been coming to Futrell Autoworks, I have owned a VW, BMW, and most recently a Audi. Dean is a 10 out of 10 and is a expert when it comes to German cars. We come her for everything to include routine service. Dean has saved us tons of money over the years between pre buy inspections and servicing our cars at a reasonable cost and not trying to sell us something we don't need. Stop going to Kuni and Herzog VW. Been there done that. Go to Futrell. read more

I just moved to town when the check engine light went on in my Audi Q3. Dean diagnosed the problem within minutes and even called Audi for me to make sure that the problem wasn't covered under a warranty before he scheduled my repair. I called around for quotes on the repair and Futrell was almost $100 less than other quotes I received. I was given a loaner car and my repair was done within hours. Dean really went above and beyond to make sure I understood what was going on with my vehicle. When doing the repair, they found that one of my tires was messed up and at risk of blowing. He referred me to a tire guy down the street who saved me hundreds of dollars compared to buying all new tires. I'll never take my Audi anywhere else. Dean is the best! read more

They are prompt to my questions. I am fine with their offered service. But since I was comparing 2 venders, I just randomly picked another one. Maybe I will try Futrell next time. read more

Great service, great people. I Just bought an Audi A3 and wanted more speed and performance. Futrell has a great reputation so I decided to take my car there. I was very, very impressed. Dean, the owner, took care of me from start to finish. 1.5 hours later I was out the door with a much faster car. The truly impressive thing was the extra effort Dean put in for no charge. The Audi dealer could not figure out my XM ID (the radio was not displaying it) and told me it was my problem. Dean said I was not leaving until he figured it out. He pulled my stereo out, photographed the ID# and emailed it to me. He actually stayed late to do this. That is going the extra mile. Thanks for the great service Futrell. read more

These guys not only put up with my constantly breaking down Audi that I LOVE and had refused to get rid of up until recently, but they also do an amazing job dealing with my warranty company. They have been spot on with service, repairs, and billing from day one. It's been a great 3 years with them! Hopefully when I sell my current Audi and get a new one I won't have any issues, but if I do, I know I can rely on Futrell to take care of her. Special shout out to Dean and Michael - you guys are the best! read more

I just wanted to say that Futrell's was one of the most honest and friendly shop's that I have ever delt with. My son had problems with his VW and they went above and beyond to make things right.
