We have an X5M we hadn't taken in there yet and it needed 60k service so got that done. Office staff is so friendly. Work done is always great. It's not cheap, but buying a car you would take here you know that and expect that. We have gone to another local similar to Matrix once before for convenience but we are back to where we like and trust. Bottom line - these guys will keep taking your money, a lot of money. I was repeatedly taking my Mini in and it was never fixed. Driving a broken vehicle sucks, constant check engine light, safety mode, and more. I was so scared I'd be stranded. I ended up buying another car because I was dumping so much into Matrix and my car was still a mess! CRAZY thing is, when I financed my new car and shared my repair woes about Matrix, the finance manager at the dealership I bought the new car from told me about a shop in Wilsonville he takes his Mini to... Silver-lining, there is hope. I love my Mini, and given it was still broken, I couldn't sell it without a massive value hit, so I kept it. I ended up taking my Mni to the Wilsonville shop. The shop was not fancy, right along 1-5, but I am so happy with the stellar mechanics! And you could talk with them, the mechanics! In one visit, they did an assessment that was factually based, very reasonable (compared to online reviews) and ultimately fixed the major issues! I've been a customer of theirs since 2005 and they've done everything from minor maintainance to major transmission replacements on 5 cars. They've always been straight up and honest, advising me when work was worth doing or when it wasn't essential or severe enough to warrant to cost so I absolutely trust them not to start finding issues to bump up the bill. I've taken my Mercedes to this location numerous times when the original owners had the business. They were outstanding! Their prices were a little on the high side (but less expensive than the dealerships) and their Mercedes guy was a total wizard when it came to diagnosing and repairing my car. I was a VERY loyal customer for many decades and was totally bummed when the owner retired and sold the biz. So of course I eventually needed a Mercedes mechanic so I dropped by to check these new guys out. They explained that they already had a thriving business over on the east side and purchased the location (building) but did not keep any of the old owner's people. Bummer... so my Mercedes wizard is working for who-knows-who now :( Asked for a quote for some fairly routine work and was given prices that were in the absolute stratosphere. OK, so there aren't that many superior shops that work on Mercedes and I'm sure really good Techs earn top dollar. But still... we're talking basic fluid changes and routine maintenance here. So I checked around and found another shop nearby that also works on Mercedes and so far so good. They seem to know what they are doing and their prices are reasonable. I would of course favor Matrix because they are walking distance from my house and my Mercedes knows the way to the shop by heart. But.... I see that there are an astounding number (24) of "hidden" reviews for this business. Most of them are 5 star reviews that look to me to be placed by shills. I am always suspicious when I see dozens of five star reviews, most of them being placed by "reviewers" who have posted less than 4 total reviews. And all of the negative reviews have been hidden, possibly as a result of complaints to Yelp by the business owner. I also see that the owner is uber-defensive regarding any and all negative reviews posted about this business. I do "get it" that owners have the right to set the record straight and tell their side of the story when someone flames their business..... but when there is a LENGTHY missive posted any time someone has a problem with a business you just have to wonder. It's definitely a red flag for me. I generally put a LOT of store in Yelp reviews and if Yelp reviewers love (or hate) a business you can pretty much take it to the bank. However, reviews on Yelp can be manipulated by businesses who are savvy in how to do that so you may want to take that into consideration when looking at this shop as a repair solution for your vehicle. As an aside, Mercedes, Beemers, Porches and so on can be finicky and their owners even more so. So I take complaints regarding the quality of a shop's work with a grain of salt. If a shop truly is doing shoddy work they won't stay in business long. So just because a customer is unhappy with a shop's work does not automatically make it a lousy place to go. However.... numerous complaints about incompetence are clearly a warning sign. Lastly, I wanted to absolutely LOVE the new owners (Matrix) since I was extremely happy with the old guys. But they pretty much priced themselves out of earning my business and I was lucky to find a new shop in the area that I am now very happy with. Naturally, YMMV. read more

I bought an Audi A8 from a man that promised it had been well-cared for. He was an airline mechanic and the car was super clean and pretty. I paid cash at a high price because I trusted that it would be a great car. Soon after purchase it began to fall apart. Matrix staff - starting with Brittany Danielle - were wonderful. They did a thorough inspection and listed each thing that needed to be fixed for the car to operate safely. The work far exceeded the price of the vehicle to the point where it made no sense to continue. First is like to submit that I only requested a quote from these guys. But I'd like to post an email for a spark plug change that blows my mind. I sent this to my mercedes dealership and asked if this was standard procedure and had several technicians tell me that this place is ripping me off, and lying to my face. You see the intake manifold sits on Top of the engine. And would never have to be removed in order to change a simple spark plug. Any technician worth his salt would never suggest such a thing unless he or she was trying to rip you off.. I provided a pic of my engine after removing the engine cover no tools required. See the arrows. Ya that's the ignition coils. 2 torx screws then the spark plug. 3 total toolsI required for this job. Read below and see for yourself. Thank you for the inquiry.  On your C300 the spark plug replacement requires removing the intake manifold. Do you have the gaskets required as well or would you like us to provide the proper gaskets as well?  Labor charge to replace the spark plugs is $345 (takes 3 hours and our labor rate is $115 per hour).  We will also need to replace the 6 intake manifold gaskets and possibly the 6 plenum gaskets (these plenum gaskets may not be required but I'd like to have them on hand just in case) $54 for 6 intake manifold gaskets $52.50 for 6 intake plenum gaskets  Brings your total to between ~$410 and ~$460 if you are providing the spark plugs read more

This is my destination for anything in my BMW X3 needing service .. Doesn't matter if it is breaks; sunroof; tires; alignment you name it.... I had a sunroof leak and took my car to Autohaus Bayern in Beaverton, they redirected me to Matrix saying that the cassette is something that they can not work on and that I should check with Sebastian @ Matrix. When I called, Jarid answered the phone and he is the friendliest service guy you will ever meet. Jarid is so authentic, it is a rare quality in service industry these days. They did a really unusual fix on my sunroof and saved me thousands of dollars. Matrix does EVERYTHING for far less and with excellent customer service! I will blindly follow anything they suggest. Honest. That's the first word that comes to mind when I think about my experience at Matrix. It's also the first word that you should think about when shopping for an auto mechanic. My BMW had all of a sudden developed a stuttering on acceleration and a rough idle. I sent an email to Matrix and Jeremy was quick to respond. Not only did he tell me about their services, he actually guided me through the process to try and trouble shoot the problem through email without me taking my car in. I followed his guidance and it unfortunately didn't work, leading him to believe that I may have a faulty ignition coil, which by the way BMW is notorious for. So fast forward a month after I ran 2 tanks full of gas and octane booster and the problem still exists. I take my car in and have them run a diagnostic test while I'm 2 block away enjoying Dairy Queen. After about 45 minutes I get a call from Jessie explaining that it was in fact a faulty ignition coil as suspected. I have them go ahead to replace it and about 45 minutes later, my car was ready to go. Both Jeremy and Jessie were very friendly and professional. I especially applaud Jeremy for trying to help me through email before ever even meeting me or seeing my car. It goes to show his integrity and his honesty. These guys have certainly earned my future business. If you own a BMW, Audi, or Porsche, I highly recommend Matrix. read more

I've been a Kuni BMW customer since 2012. When my 328i battery showed signs of failing I reached out to Matrix electronically. My desire was to explore alternate repair facilities with the goal of reducing my cost. Jeremy answered all of my questions regarding "registration" of a new BMW battery and helped determine the right battery based on photos I sent to him of the old battery. I made an appointment to have the battery replaced and waited for the work to be done. Matrix completed the work in the time estimated. I also have close acquaintances who are serious gear-heads who swear by these guys - and I trust those friends. I hope I don't need anything major from them (knock on wood) - but for the small stuff so far I am very happy. Rude and incompetent. I had taken my Porsche there for several years for routine maintenance. I decided to sell the car, and the buyer took the car to Matrix for a PPI. They wrote up a report that had several bogus deficiencies, none of which they had noticed in any previous repair at their shop. The worst of these was a camshaft deviation reading from the ECU that was well within Porsche specification. They told the buyer it was an engine out repair that would cost $5,000. So, I took it to the Porsche dealer and their factory trained master mechanic said it was not of concern, and no repair was needed. He said it was the third time in the month that a Porsche came to them after being flagged by Matrix for a cam timing issue that was totally within specifications. The Matrix service advisor and the operations manager were rudely aggressive about this diagnosis, and IMO had no clue what they were talking about. In addition, they flagged a problem with the convertible top mechanism not sitting flat. Well, they had disconnected completely one of the arms of the mechanism when they worked on the car. Take your Porsche to the dealer in Beaverton, and avoid Matrix. read more

This business used to have a good reputation. However, that is long gone. I took my Porsche in to have coils overs put on and an alignment. One of the coil overs was not tightened and it didn't feel right. After taking it to another shop I found out the car's tie rods (suspension) were shot. They did the alignment anyway. It's like doing a tune up on an engine that doesn't have compression - a waste of money and time. There was also a broken swaybar end link that I wasn't told about until I picked it up. What kind of shop does this? A very dishonest one that clearly doesn't want to have repeat business, care about their customers and / or perform quality work. They call themselves a "premier" repair shop. They don't act that way. I would be surprised if they could compete with any repair shop on 82nd. These five star reviews are definitely shill. So if you looking to be treated terribly with horrible communication and demeanor (Pete), not have your car fixed or maintained correctly and charged way over what capable and reputable shops charge than by all means set an appointment - this is your place. read more

From my first communication with Matrix, I've been very impressed. I reached out to Jeremey via email to ask about the cost of some various jobs on a Porsche Cayman S I was considering purchasing, and he wrote back immediately and at length to discuss the work to be done and the associated costs--even though there was only a *chance* that I would buy the car and bring it in. That won me over right off the bat. For me, good communication with a car shop is the most important aspect, and Matrix has been the best I've ever experienced.
