This fancy bar doesn't fly very far with many stars.
Located inside the Doubletree Hotel, the ambiance is decorated with romantic, dim lighting and dark wood. There is a a great view of the 16 story structure, but no river view.
This was a quick sit down dinner. Our server was very nice and polite, but kind of spacey. I appreciate that she checked on us and how we were enjoying ourselves, but she didn't allow us enough time to sink into our first bite.
Although the bar looks fancy, the food does not complement the atmosphere. I chose to the Chicken Parm over Spaghetti, and the fiance had the Chicken Noodle Soup. My pasta was cold, and the chicken was slightly over done. The $5 bowl of soup boasts of no flavor, and table salt and pepper was no where to be seen.
During mid-meal and in mid-bite, she asks if we would like another beer. "All set" translated to picking up the beer bottle to judge the level of beer. Uhhh... lady, I don't want your hands on our food while we're eating. Again, I appreciate that she checked up on us; even with a smile. There are times when servers don't even acknowledge you. But, touching our food/drinks without consent is actually rude. It makes customers feel rushed.
Later when she checked on us if we were done, without allowing us to answer, she had already picked up our plate. I'm sure she means well, but that was really annoying.
Unfortunately, Fusion doesn't even validate parking. But, the hotel itself was very kind to do so.
It was nice to have a change of atmosphere, but Fusion is not a good choice for food.
Thanks, Jeff M. for dinner. Next round is on me. =) read more
