I've been to 3 or 4 hookah lounges in Boston, and I can honestly say this is the one I had the best experience at. 1. The hookah is very reasonably priced. $25 for a hookah that's very well made. Anybody who knows anything about hookah know that the most important part is that it's made well. You can tell the guys at Sheesha know their hookah. 2. The service is great. The guys who ran the show came around and made sure we were doing well, and fixed the coals every 5-10 minutes or so. 3. The guys who work here are genuinely nice guys. They seem to be willing to do whatever they can to enhance your experience, and they're willing to have a conversation with you. 4. The music they play is ON POINT. Great music from all genres. If you're deciding which hookah place to spend your money at, just come to Sheesha and give it a try. You won't regret it!! This was one of the dirtiest, raggedy lounges I have ever been to. I sat in a corner spot on a bench with cushions that we so flat it felt like cardboard. The table was rickety and the floor was filthy. The bathroom was highway gas station quality. The hookah was good and the service was pleasant enough (not great or thoughtful but pleasant). This was the strongest hookah I've ever had in my life. I was with a group of 4 guys and they all said the same. I mean, I get that smoking hookah is basically depriving your brain of oxygen, but we were all so light-headed. Not sure if that is good or bad but we were like "is this laced" Aside from the good (or maybe bad?) hookah, the prices were a bit expensive and there is no food or alcohol. So far my favorite hookah lounge in the Boston area. Why, you ask? * The prices are reasonable * Easy to find location * Nice music * Cozy and not over crowded with people * Great flavor options * board games! I personally recommend the "head buzz"- it's great. For about $30, the sheesha really lives up to its name, I'll tell you that much! There usually aren't that many people in there, and you can sit in one of the window booths to for even more privacy. There is a stack of board games readily available and I have found that combining scrabble with smoking sheesha is quite a fun activity. One star- because... well you have to give it at least one star. I HATED this place. I hate to be that person that has to give 1 star reviews but this place really needs to get its act together. It has so much potential and the hookah isn't bad at all but the service is just awful. There is this really smug guy who works there and just has such a rotten attitude. His priority is treating his friends at work. I gave this place three chances before writing this review and each experience was progressively worse. During my most recent experience I brought 3 friends and the guy was just so rude. Apparently he ran out of literally everything on his menu and didn't make a point to let us know this? After seating ourselves with virtually no greeting I tried to place my order and was given a ton of attitude as he told me each item I picked was out of stock. I literally asked him what he had at all and he couldn't even tell me. He claimed "its been busy" but really there were only two tables there, one with 6 guys and one with two girls and that was all. If you are going to be running low at least be humble about it and learn how to properly communicate. Literally the treatment here is like this lounge is DOING US a favor by letting people smoke there instead of valuing people's business. Never going back. read more

First hookah bar I've visited in Boston. Very cozy with ample seating, but not too large (maybe 30 seats) with very nice staff. Music was crowd pleasing with a party vibe. There is also WiFi. As far as hookahs go: + Clean silicon hoses + Large Khalil Mamoon hookahs + Coconut coals + Large heads packed full + Decent price, especially with a party of 2 or 3 I can't find any negatives to list. No A/C here! It's about a billion degrees in there and everyone just shrugs and acts like it's no big deal. They did apologize for the heat and gave us 20% off BUT $50 bucks for 20 minutes is basically a rip off. Feels like you are doing hot yoga and not relaxing at all. I feel bad for the workers... To my knowledge there are predominantly 3 hookah lounges in Boston/Allston area. For the first half of my college career I was loyal to Nile Lounge because that's the closest thing I could do to "go out" since I was under 21. However, my hookah-connoisseur friend told me to try out Sheesha Lounge. Sure it was further down Allston and I hadn't explored that deeply into Allston but wanted to give it a try. To me this is my favorite hookah lounge for a few reasons: - It's more affordable (in terms of standard flavors) - More selection on flavors (in terms of standard flavors) - You don't feel rushed even though it's smaller. One thing I HATE about the Nile is that they try to rush you to finish a bowl and CLAIM that the hookah burns quickly aka GTFO. I know my hookah, it doesn't burn that fast... - Customer service is great! My friend and I came early-ish on a Saturday night and we jived with the employees and they changed the music based on our music taste which was sweet! They also kept changing our coals pretty often and didn't. Also offered to give us more hot water for our tea without charge. Limit 3 people per hookah. You can rent out the venue for a night which is cool! No drink minimum. You pay on a tablet and you can pay with card. Love this place and am a loyal customer! read more

It's a great place to go alone - bring a laptop to study or just chill out, and an equally great place to bring friends for a fun and affordable night out. I know crap about hookah, honestly, but I was brought here by some friends tonight for a Friday night out. So much more fun than going to bars, really! I was mesmerized by the big screen with the large, bellydancing ladies played on the xbox set to the loud, thumping techno music. Then later on in the night, they played that Wizard of Oz synched up with Pink Floyd thing everyone knows about but no one has ever seen. I'm a huge fan of this kind of bizarre entertainment. I favor it immensely over, say, popped collars and bud lights. The staff was super, super friendly and laid-back about the experience and wanted to make sure I had an awesome time. Definitely glad to get in a positive review for my trip to New England. Even better, this will be one of many. After meeting up with some old boarding school friends in Boston, we all somehow decided on hookah as the beginning to a night. I wish I had checked Yelp first because we ended up ordering the Head Daze, which was fantastic, BTW. Anyways, after literally having someone in front of the place pull away right when were pulling up, we put our names on the list, then decided to go down the street to some pizza place and eat/drink at the bar there. A word to the wise, they will go outside and call your name, but they will not hold your space after that. We of course missed our space, which wasn't really an issue, because I needed to go back to the bar to get more of a buzz going anyways, but it was cold outside and frequently is in Boston so I hear so keep this in mind. Very quickly after sitting down, we were greeted by people that I will not call hipsters, simply "eccentric." Zoolander was playing on the screen, which was cool. Anyway, we order the Head Buzz. It was really, really good. They pack the hookah really well and you can tell that they don't skimp at all. They came around with fresh coals every so often, and the hookah didn't really lose its flavor at all, at least not before we left. The tea that I ordered was delicious. None of us ordered food as we had just eaten but it looked good on some of the other tables. The atmosphere is really cool as well and exactly what we were looking for. Chill, but not divey. The clientele seemed really cool. It was really comfortable in there. The biggest thing I would wish for this place is to get an alcohol license. But then, I'm sure getting one in Massachusetts is much harder than in my college town of N'awlins. read more

To start on the good points, the interiors of this place makes you think of the shisha cafe you would own if you were that way inclined. The decor is pleasant and adds well to the ambiance, the music however is dire, so it helps if you come armed with a bunch of friends loud enough to drown out your attention to the music. Unfortunately in other aspects this place was gravely lacking. The service was abysmal and needs to be dramatically improved, it was beyond S L O W to the point where it was virtually none existent. The whole pay off of going to a shisha cafe where they SERVE you shisha for whatever extortionate amount they want to charge (usually out here its the same price as what you pay to buy your OWN hookah from any armenian shop in Watertown...), is that you get waited on with someone devoted to tending to coals that are always on the go, anticipating that moment just before you're going to need another. That does not happen at the Sheesha Lounge however. It doesn't matter that they charge you $3 for coal after your first 3 coals, because you're never going to get round to three or even two coals... The tea seams like an inviting choice, and it could have been pleasant if it wasn't served with luke warm water and the cup filled only half full for $3.50. They don't sell tap water so I was hesitant to even enquire about a hot refill. In all, a very disappointing experience, given that on a previous occasion we had eagerly made a pilgrimage to this establishment just to find it closed for the entire evening, apparently because someone hadn't turned up for work... Your efforts are better spent heading over to Watertown and buying a hookah of your own - you'll have a much more enjoyable experience at least, safe in the knowledge that you're getting your moneys worth... read more

I like that they don't rush you out. You can take all the time you need for your hookah without feeling like they want you to leave. Get there early enough on weekends though. If you show up after 10PM, you'll have a wait. We got there around 8 and were seated immediately but then soon after we heard people arriving and they were told there was a wait. So I've been a regular here for over a year and watched this business slowly grow into one of Boston's hotspots for hookah. I'll write this review based on my few most recent visits. My friends and I are usually in a fruity mood, and any of their $25 flavors are always a classic favorite. They also offer some snack and dessert food options as well as a variety of drink choices. So we get our teas and cake and then the hookah. Overall it's a great atmosphere to be in and the hookah is great. So why no 5-star rating if I'm loving the vibe of this place? Well, in short, the wait staff is pretty in attentive, even on a slow weeknight. No one checked in on us except about an hour later to replace the coals since they were reduced to little piles of ash. The wait staff isn't nearly as friendly and welcoming as it used to be when it was under different management. All in all, still one of my favorite hookah spots in the Boston area if you don't care about the customer service and just want good hookah. read more

True story of 5 friends: Friday night movie plan falls through. It's now 10:45PM and we want to go out. One friend forgets her ID. Another is wearing sweats and sandals. Friend #3 and 4 are both wearing sneakers. Hmm... where to go in Boston that can pretty much accommodate all of us fools? We are not in the active mood to bowl or sing karaoke. Thankfully, Yelp leads us to Sheesha Lounge. We drive over and find parking easily. There are only two other parties when we arrive. A few of us order flavored sodas (amaretto and bailey's). We share the $35 Sheesha special - forget what it's called exactly, but it's infused with rose, mint, and lemon flavors. The host/server tests our hookah for us - something I'm not used to, but appreciate it. He is friendly, follows up, and doesn't mind that we are the last remaining party to stay until closing at 2:00AM. I would suggest better song transition but it was a one-man show, so can't blame him. And I'd definitely recommend the special - almost on par with what I've had out of country. Too bad it was not a multi-tube hookah for easier sharing. Oh yeah, awkward moment when my Asian friends and I realize that a modern Asian movie is playing on the flat screen in front of us. Coincidence or intent? What distinguish Sheesha Lounge from others are eclectic decor and the cozy atmosphere with various available entertainment. After a trip to egypt, i really enjoyed our evening sheesha sessions. i stopped in here with some pals that had never indulged. We had a great time. The staff was very helpful, and suggested a Mojito/Pomegranate blend, that was very good, sweet and refreshing. It was slow, and they asked us if we had a musical preference, and said they would put pandora on for us. nice touch. Last night was my first time at Sheesha, and we had a good time. The small place in a seemingly sketchy location was packed when we walked in at 11:30, but the staff took my name and said there was a group ready to leave so we'd be able to sit shortly. About 5 minutes later, they came outside to get us. Sheesha is basically one big room with various seating configurations, some comfy benches and some hard ones, with some neat spaces (I like the area next to the window up the stairs). Lots of red walls and exposed brick, it had a cozy, friendly feel. We went with a pomegranate which was nice, next time I'd do a blend (perhaps add some mint in?). I loved that they give each person their own individual sanitary mouthpiece, big plus there. A few of us got Moroccan Mint tea, which was a bit messy as the tea bags were massive and were leaking over the side, and I wish the mug had been bigger, but oh well. The music selection was interesting and not what I usually expect at a hookah bar (Lil John?) but there was an awesome Thai fighting movie on the projector that amused us. Service was OK, the waitresses were really sweet and the coal guy was attentive, but my friend asked for a water and it never came, and we had to flag someone down to get our check. My DC friend ranted about how expensive it was compared to what she's used to, but $25 for 1 flavor ($35 for blends) is normal for these parts, and the hookah will last you a long time plus they're very attentive with the (complimentary) coals. Kinda mixed on this. My friends and I were hunting for a Hookah Bar and this was the only place we could find. Extremely ghetto and seedy compared to the really nice hookah lounges found on the West Coast. - There is a time limit since the place is so small - The enforce 4 people to a hookah. So if you have a fifth friend who doesn't feel like smoking, they will make you buy a second hookah (for $25/pop) - No booze - only water, soda, and tea - They refused to serve tap water because they are cheap, and charge kind of a lot for bottled water. Given that it's a very smoky lounge, you'll definitely need hydration. - You will be surrounded by dazed BU undergrads - 18% fixed gratuity - A spider sprinted across our table - Refused to take reservations and also refused to give time estimate to us when we called in advance, saying we "had to be there in person to put our names on the list" Overall fit our basic needs of finding a hookah lounge last minute in Boston. Our flavors weren't too strong but the servers didn't seem to care too much when we commented. Blink and you'll miss it, but if you've got your eyes open and you're looking for a decent Hookah Bar in the Allston area, Sheesha Lounge shouldn't disappoint. The Shisha flavors are fairly varied, though they could be a hit-or-miss. The Jasmine is some of the smoothest I've ever had, while the Double Apple wasn't anything special, and almost had a Black Licorice flavor to it (which I don't mind, if I order Black Licorice). The quality of Shisha seems pretty high, given the fact that there were virgin hookah smokers in the group I attended with and none of them dealt with any coarse or harsh smoke. The Hookahs were good, since myself and the party I was with had two flavors we ended up swapping hookahs, and both got decent pulls without any major issue. The lounge provides hose caps for hygienic reasons, which is nice - though it was strange that they didn't seem to have any multi-hose hookahs. Atmosphere wise, the Sheesha Lounge is a great place to chill and converse. The Techno music playing was a little upbeat for my Hookah-time desires (I don't mind techno, but when I'm in a dimly lit hookah bar I prefer something totally mellow), but it was kept at a reasonable volume so I didn't have to fight to speak to people. The large television in the center of the bar is part 'cool' part 'distraction.' The night we were there they were showing a wildlife show, and watching a tiger attack a gazelle while mellowing out elicited a strange response from our party - the women present felt it was sad, the men were rooting for the tiger - but I can't help but think the feelings evoked were totally out of place. When I smoke with friends, it's social, so the television was pushed to the back burner in short order. I suppose it works for some people, but it wasn't for me. The staff seemed very nice, and I even discussed Honey Shisha with one of them. Hopefully someday it'll be on the flavor roster! They seemed genuinely happy to work at the place, which is a good thing, because it reflects in their work. They were prompt with coal adjustments and friendly overall. The crowd on the night we went was fine. Another review here mentions the crowd and/or the staff had attitude, but I didn't experience anything of the sort. In fact, the other patrons kept to themselves except for when my party asked another person to take a group photo of us, and they obliged kindly. Finally, prices. Sure - it's expensive. Anyone who expects prices to match Shisha you'd purchase for at-home use is crazy. This is a Hookah Bar. We all know beer is a lot cheaper at the packie than it is at a bar, but that's just the way things are. Add to that the fact that you smoke Hookah in group, and the total cost is spread a bit more than if you get an MGD at the watering hole. Any way you cut it, it's not unreasonable. All in all, Sheesha Lounge is a very solid little Hookah Bar. I can easily anticipate a return visit to try some of the other flavors on their menu. The experience was an overall pleasurable one, and I'd recommend Sheesha Lounge to anyone in the Allston/Brighton area looking for a Hookah fix. read more
