The number one place for free entertainment All Summer Long. In addition, this is the best place where they run a lot of fundraising events. I love the fact that they have free classical performances every Wednesday during the summer. On certain weekends, they have radio concerts like Oldies 103.... Loved seeing the Beach Boys and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. They also hold cultural festivals like the Bollywood Festival and everyone's favorite...Boston Pops on July the 4th which is the most crowded so get there early. If you have young kids take opportunity to attend the Free Friday Flicks! And if the movie is lousy, the kids get to run around towards the playground nearby. They have food vendors around serving typical fastfood like fried dough, ice-cream, hot dog and burgers.

This is One of the cool perks of living in a city. I never know what to expect when I stroll past this place on the esplanade. Some nights there are free Zumba classes, other weekends there are free concerts, and the the 4th of July is kicken wih the Boston pops! It gets crowded, but what concert venue isn't?

Gather your friends, grab a blanket, prepare some picnic food, and head over to the Hatch Memorial Shell for some fantastic outdoor live music! It's located right by the river, so take the T to Charles/MGH, walk across the bridge and ta-dah, you are there. I came here recently for Earth Fest 2012 with some buddies and had a great time. I left the place feeling slightly burnt and toasted, but was glad I got to experience some great outdoors with live music and great company.

Pretty cool. Cool interior, looks like the inside is wood. Runs along the side of the water. Neat place

I've been to this venue a few times for various celebrations, including my high school prom…read more(throwback!) and I absolutely love it. The venue is set up perfectly for dances, spacious, and comfortable. There are plenty of tables, a dance floor, a DJ area, spots for serving and catering food, a bar, and a mezzanine. There is also a balcony which overlooks Fenway park, which is cool. The staff is also super friendly and does a great job hosting all events! Bartenders really hook you up with the good stuff, loved my west coast style shirley. The security is also great and they do an efficient job with coat storage (you enter your phone number and take an ID photo that helps them verify you).

We had tickets for the mezzanine second floor. We got spots right in front of the railing so we had a clear view of the stage. After an hour of hanging and waiting for Dijon to come on, someone from the venue very rudely told us to move from our spots and basically pushed us out to put two seats there for two ADA folks. My thing is if you have people who are differently abled and need seats they should have placed them there much earlier and reserved that space. It seemed incredibly irresponsible and inconsiderate to everyone involved. The folks who needed those seats felt bad and it was quite uncomfortable. The person who worked for the venue was extremely rude to me and my partner. No please no thank you no nothing. We arrived early to get good spots and at that point we could've just strolled in at 8:30 and gotten the same spots we ended up with. Absolutely disappointed and dissatisfied. I will not be back. House of Blues please work on your service and mannerism when talking with people who paid to be there!! Shoutout to the bartender though working alone but he killed it!
