Who knew there was so much to do in Brockton!

Small local museum with an emphasis on handcrafts. Took about an hour to check everything out. Since we were there in December, they had expanded the gift shop for the holidays and had a fabulous selection of handcrafted items for purchase. When we visited, there were exhibits referencing the opioid crisis and bullying. Plus handcrafted pottery and gold. Nice variety.

Worked here on a work/study grant through Massasoit Community college 99-00, discovering my love for art. Fascinating place, I participated in archiving the museums records dating back to raising money for plans to build it and of the countless many overlapping traveling exhibits it boasted over the decades. I protected exhibits from sticky fingers during elementary school field trips and served grapes and cheese while pouring wine during artist meet and greets. It was and still is a gem for Brockton as a craft museum now. They just celebrated their 50th anniversary just before the lockdown began, and although you wont see any Chihuly glass exhibits as borrowed on loan in former decades, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. Free Thursday evenings are my idea of a good time- come bump into me by "coincidence" of our shared interest in artful intrigue when the lockdown ends!

This fabulous small art museum is the perfect size for my attention span. Every time I've been there has been top quality exhibits that fascinate me. Its a great location with a view of a small pond and lots of outdoor sculptures. The gift store is also amazing. An unusual assortment of handcrafted gifts that you can't find anywhere else. It's a hidden gem that not many people know about.

I went to the Fuller Craft Museum out in Brockton on Free Fun Friday 2016, so I didn't pay their normal $10 admission for adults ($8 senior, $5 students aged 12 and up). There's one parking lot by the entrance, but for those with accessibility issues, it is worth it to drive up closer and around the side where there's another lot and a level entrance. Me, I parked where I found a spot, walked on over, noticing a scattering of outdoor exhibits along the way, ascended a few steps and entered through the gift shop. The museum itself isn't all that large. I easily made it through at a leisurely pace in under 1.5 hours - both inside and out. Think modern art (or they'd probably say, craft), in the woods. I liked the duck statue by the pond - actually, that was the sole purpose of my trip out here - to take a picture with that duck! Many of the art pieces are available for sale - just fyi. The benches that they have placed about for the comfort and convenience of their patrons are themselves works of art that you can touch. I took the opportunity of the free craft workshops that they had going that day and made myself a colorful instrumental rain stick You'd think that as I booklover, I'd consider their temporary exhibit Metamorphosis: The Art of Altered Books a bit of a sacrilege... but it was still cool - starting off with the bust of Albert Einstein carved out of a stack of hardcovers that greeted me as I entered the exhibit through the gift shop. (July 30, 2016 - November 6, 2016) When it is open, their artKitchen Café offerings seem rather interesting and perhaps adventuresome depending on one's palate. Rather than the usual (and slightly boring) soup, salad, and sandwich options, they had: Arroz con Pollo $6; Cuban style black beans $3/$6, Picadillo Empanadas $5, Quinoa Salad $5/$10, Watermelon Corn Relish $4/$8, and soda & water $1 On their website, I found this list of the outdoor sculptures: http://fullercraft.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/List-of-Outdoor-Sculptures.pdf But they really should provide a map of precise locations for those who don't want to miss any of them and are fine without the mystery of just happening upon them by accident. They also offer free entrance weekly on Thursdays 5:00 - 9:00 pm.

I finally visited the Fuller Craft Museum for the first time yesterday, and it was lovely! I went to see the exhibit 'Perfect Fit: Shoes Tell Stories'. I loved the exhibit (especially the beaded shoes), but I also loved the building. It is really fun and funky. I also love that it is in the woods and right on the water. The outdoor sculptures really capture the imagination! If you're hungry, there is a very cool cafe with great food, as well as a cute gift shop! I highly recommend the Fuller Craft Museum to both adults & kids! FYI, the adult admission price is $8. If you would like to go on a budget, check your local library for museum passes which you can borrow to gain free or discounted admission! Enjoy!

My wife and I saw the sign from the highway while driving to Woods Hole for our honeymoon and were caught completely off guard by what is an awesome little Art Museum. We were truly expecting something much more low brow and could not have been more pleased to start our honeymoon off with a bang. The featured exhibit was about shoes, and the local shoe industry. It included a pair of local boy Rocky Marciano's boxing shoes! A large chunk of the downstairs was closed while they prepared for a new exhibit, but we did not care because we kept finding gems around every corner. This is worth so much more than a detour from the highway!

Really enjoyed this place over the years. Usually fairly specialized shows but I've learned a lot from all of them.

This place is a hidden gem! If you're art challenged like I am or are just looking for a little bit of inspiration, you can purchase a pre-stenciled drawing. If you are more gifted with a paintbrush or are just looking to channel your inner Picasso, you can opt for a blank canvas and let your inspiration flow! Walk-ins are encouraged and for $9 per canvas (includes all supplies), it's an economical and fun way to spend an afternoon. The owner is extremely friendly and for those who love dogs, Kona the Puggle is a friendly pooch who roams around the shop giving tips for your painting and only asks for a loving head rub in return. Plan your visit to Liz Boston today and you won't be disappointed. The staff is extremely friendly and their passion for art and their customers is apparent. Thanks for a great afternoon!

It sits in downtown North Easton off Route 24 near Brockton. I had never been down to this area and is was an easy ride. This place is in an old fire station which was remodeled for this museum. It is 3 floors and you can still see remnants of the old station which is cool. They even have old pics on the wall showing old fire engines and the fire team that was housed here. The inside is nice and small which is adequate for little kids like 2-5. The good thing about this place, it is manageable compared to the craziness of the Boston Children's Museum. It is easier to get in and out and is less crowded and you don't have to pay for parking. The admission is $7.50 and the best thing is if you are a member of the Boston museum, you get in free on the reciprocal program and vice versa. The inside is designed almost like Boston with various hands on exhibits and things to touch and play with. The rocket ship is cool with buttons and there is a pirate ship and a fireman's pole, dinosaurs, puppet theatre, doctors office etc. Lots of things to climb on and interact with. The stuff is in good shape and it is clean with restrooms and hand sanitizer. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they even host birthday parties. Highly recommended.

BEWARE - They close before posted times. The front desk woman is rude (as many reviews say), and…read morethey appear to not like humans. Currently sitting outside the museum in my car IN SHOCK at what just happened. It is exactly 2:16pm. Museum closes at 3pm. We have our 3 yr old granddaughter asleep in the car and we've been parked outside for 15 minutes giving her a few more minutes nap before going inside - since THE MUSEUM CLOSES AT 3PM. She usually only spends a half hour there (we have a membership). I then see someone (older woman, short blonde/grey hair) walk outside and then walk back in. It looked like she was locking the door!! So I get out of the car and walk up, the door is locked. I knock. No answer. I knock again. No one comes to door but I can hear people inside and I JUST SAW this woman two minutes ago come out to lock the door. So I knock again thinking surely she'll come to the door. Nope. Then I see the sign, "doors lock 45 minutes prior to closing!" My watch says 2:14...it's NOT 45 MINUTES BEFORE YET. Plus she locked the door a minute ago, so she had to have locked it at 2:13. Now, you want to close a couple minutes early? Ok, fine, I get it. But when someone walks up in time - you let them in if it's within posted hours! I look up the museum's phone # and call. The woman answers: "Hi, I'm standing outside the door and it's locked, but we have our granddaughter and I was giving her a few minutes more to sleep. I just saw you come outside. I was sitting in my car right out front. Can I bring her in, she'll only be in for half hour?" "No, I'm sorry, you can't." (WHAT??) "But it's just right this very minute 2:15!" "Yes, that's why the doors are locked" "But you locked them early!" "I'm sorry" You have got to be kidding me!! I've read the bad reviews about this museum before and still, I bought a membership. I knew about their very limited hours (aimed at closing whenever school aged children are out of school) and still I bought a membership. I've been here plenty of times and have seen the number of exhibits that are broken, missing pieces, not working and still I've come back - because their arts and crafts area is worth it. But after today - never again. I would advise against anyone joining this museum just due to the horrible attitude of (some) of their employees. I truly believe there are a few employees who are nice (art table) but I've seen this woman at the register when I've arrived and witnessed her give others a hard time before. She is working in the wrong industry. She needs to be in a non customer-facing position. CME - you should be ashamed. Locking your doors early then telling a customer standing outside at EXACTLY 2:15 (she did not dispute the timing) that they cannot come in. Unbelievable. Oh, we drove 40 minutes to get here. The town of Easton is being done a disservice to have this museum within their city limits, as the association alone gives them a bad name. A change in staff is definitely needed here.
