Found this place while looking for sushi places on yelp and all i can say is that i'm happy i found it. This place is definitely my new go to sushi spot. Lived in the area for 16 years and never knew this was here or WHAT I was missing!! Fusion Kitchen (formerly DragonLady) has great , fresh cuisine and fantastic sushi - better than Hong Kong City, Yamato, and Sake & Kyoto in Mansfield. Those places range from okay to good but this little undiscovered gem is great. Don't be discouraged by it's location - it's on a side street off Taunton Green, nor it's outside appearance. It's clean, charming, yummy and the drinks are healthy servings of just what you ordered. I'm so glad my husband & I gave this place a try after so many years, and we're kicking ourselves for not going sooner. Program your GPS and prepared to be pleasantly delighted. read more

So I came here with one of my girlfriends and we saw that they had a yelp deal going on, $15 for $20 worth of food, so I bought it. Walking in, the restaurant was freezing, it was like they didn't turn on the heat. I used the restroom and it felt even more cold than outside, it was terrible. The hostess was on the phone so she asked us to wait a second we were standing there for maybe about five minutes until one of the kitchen staff came out and escorted us to our table. She didn't give us a menu or even water. We waited probably about 10 minutes before getting up to ask for a menu. We ordered a PuPu platter, double fried noodles and two rolls of sushi. And let's just say, the food was mediocre- the sushi was alright, but I wasn't expecting anything fantastic. The double pan fried noodles took over an hour to come out! They were not super busy or anything, maybe 1-2 other tables other than us. The noodles were super soggy and the sauce was way too salty. BUT, I saved the best for LAST, in the PuPu platter, there were crab rangoons, beef teriyaki, chicken fingers, chicken wings and egg rolls. The crab rangoons and the chicken wings were probably the only things I ate from that plate, the beef teriyaki tasted like it was soaked in soap, it had no flavor whatsoever, I literally had to spit it out. I tried one of their chicken fingers and luckily I pulled it apart before eating because IT WAS UNCOOKED... THEY SERVED ME UNCOOKED CHICKEN. I told the waitstaff and she reassured me that the food is "cooked" then "recooked.. but if you feel that it is not cooked, I'll make another one". And I told her it's not what I "feel", you can clearly tell that the chicken was NOT COOKED. She did not apologize or acknowledge that it was uncooked and simply just said she'll make another one for me. I was so disturbed that I didn't even touch the egg roll or the subsequent food she brought out after. Needless to say I will NOT be returning here. Even if there is a yelp deal, take your money and go somewhere else that can serve you better. All in all, service was super slow, no customer service and the food was not good. read more

Sorry, was not a fan! I don't see what all the 4 and 5 stars were for. We ordered a lot of food! So let's start with that. Well first they got my order wrong, so that bummed me out. They put eddamame in my order instead of inari. Food: 4 sushi maki rolls. They were just ok. I've been craving sushi but I'm pregnant so I can only order cooked rolls. We tried the sweet potato roll ( just fried sweet potato, no sauce on it or anything, for $7! I think that was way over priced) I couldn't tell the difference between the shrimp tempura roll and the water stream Maki roll (Just the soy bean wrappers were different colors). Still no sauce on it, no spicy mayo. They seemed to give the same sauces on the side for all the rolls, some kind of eel sauce or oyster sauce and a mayo sauce. The California roll was just as bad as a super market roll. The edamame had no taste, not boiled in salt water and no sprinkle of salt on top. We tried the sesame chicken, it was not traditional Chinese sesame chicken, had onions and red peppers in it, really sweet! Shrimp pad Thai was a joke. The 6 shrimp they added were inedible! I tried to bite one and it was like biting a tough piece of rubber. I couldn't even bit through it! Again not traditional pad Thai. The sauce was weird, no bean sprouts. The house fried rice was ok. They put everything in it even Water chestnuts! Some kind of spice, maybe a pinch of 5 spice? I ordered off menu, beef with soft tofu, that was the best thing we got. Good sauce. White rice does not come with dishes so heads up! Price: way over priced! We paid $103 , and got nothing for ordering so much food. The woman even commented on how much food we ordered and not even an egg roll. I gave an extra star because the woman on the phone was very nice and pleasant. But I'm​ sorry I wouldn't go back. One of the worst dining experiences my wife and I have ever had. We went on a Friday night at around 7:15 for dinner. We had never been to Fusion before, and went based off of a recommendation my wife had received from a coworker. Upon arrival we immediately noticed that there was only 1 other couple in the entire restaurant. Never a good sign. In any case, we walked in and we were promptly seated. Our drinks order was taken / given to us right away. After a few minutes to look through the menu, my wife and I decided on 4 different "House Special Maki" rolls. After placing our order we did not see our waitress again until the FIRST roll was brought out to us approximately 40 minutes after placing our order. Only ONE roll was brought out (which happened to be my Rainbow roll). I placed the roll off to the side figuring the rest of the rolls would be right out, as well as being polite to my wife who was now quite hungry. After TEN MORE MINUTES of waiting, they finally brought out her FIRST roll. We both began eating, wondering what was taking them so long to produce all 4 rolls. After finishing both our of first rolls and waiting an additional ten minutes, both of our final rolls were brought out. **THE ONLY POSITIVE IN THIS STORY IS THE QUALITY OF THE SUSHI - WHICH WAS VERY GOOD**. After finishing our meal, we sat very impatiently waiting for our waitress to come back to our table. Not a single employee had come to our table after our rolls were given to us to ask how the food was, see if we needed anything (which we did - we both ran our of drinks and were thirsty), etc. We finally were able to flag down a different waitress to ask for our check. After another wait, our waitress came out, placed the check on the table, and without saying another word walked away. We looked over the bill and after seeing that the total was correct, we paid the tab. After my credit card was returned to me, I placed a cash tip (the tip matched the service...) on the table. To my surprise, our waitress was standing directly next to the table waiting for us to leave so she could collect her tip (not an assumption since she had no other tables to tend to, and because there was a busboy cleaning a table across from us). Goes to show you where the waitresses' priorities were. This is not a restaurant that I would ever consider going to again, nor would I recommend it to even my worst of friends. There are PLENTY of Sushi / Japanese / Fusion kitchens available that put this place to shame. read more

You can't ask for more. The sushi is the best I've ever had. You can watch the guy make it right in front of you OR on a TV screen over the bar. The menu food isn't the typical crap you get from all the cookie-cutter Chinese places, and really has an amazing variety of different styles and flavors. Special orders are never a problem (this coming from a guy with an unusual allergy), and everything is always fresh. The waitstaff is always kind and willing to answer anything you may need to know as well as making sure everything is taken care of to their high standards. I've taken everyone from family and friends, dates (way back when), and business lunches here, and never even heard the tiniest bit of dislike. Everyone ends up loving the place, the people, and the food. The worst thing I have ever heard is that the price seems higher, but for fresh food made to order with such portions, it's well worth it. I wish would they could get more exposure, because their location isn't on a main road. They really deserve it. I'm a customer for life! read more

Unfortunately I ordered from here last night 3/25 And while the delivery driver was very kind, and seemed to not get tipped a lot which I'm going tp assume because buisness isn't that great if the food is like it was tonight. I ordered pork fried rice, shrimp fried rice, beef teriyaki, & crabrangoon ......The pork fried rice was awful, it didn't even smell like PFR. The SFR even worse! I asked for the beef teriyaki to be "well done" and it was still pink looking. I was so turned off I called them back and said I don't want this food and the rude waitress "ASHLEY" AND i called and said, "Hi I really don't want this food it smells bad like rotten and the beef teriyaki is very rare like almost bleeding rare"...She said, "Ok do you have a trash"?...Me:"I'm sorry what"?...Ashley:"maybe we aren't the right ones for you throw it away"! Me: "I want my money back" ASHLEY: "I can't do that I'm not authorized"! silence.....Me:" Ummm ok so can you put ur manager in the phone. I didn't think I had to ask". So the manager (Who is awful by the way) Gets on the phone and said I could have a refund if I bring it back. I got delivery so therefore to u should have ur delivery driver bring it back. But I feel bad for him because he had barley any tips tonight he said and i gave him an 9$ tip because he was awesome. So I went down there manager didn't say sorry not once acted like there was soemthing wrong with me, and was just rude. Fusion kitchen is definitely one of Taunton's hidden gems. The Pad Thai and Curry Chicken are the best I've had. Their sushi portions are large and always fresh. Worth the drive no matter where you live. We are fortunate enough to to live nearby. We refuse to eat anyone else's sushi. I am a sushi snob and Fusion is hands down the best. Try the Water Stream and Pink Lady Maki, they are amazing, unique and delicious. Presentation is professional and alluring. The owner is extremely accommodating and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and catered to. We enjoy Fusion's Chinese food, however, the sushi is just so delicious, we rarely order Chinese anymore. read more

Terrible low-quality, unhealthy, microwaved food that left me feeling sick. Went here to try the sushi, only to find out that apparently you have to call ahead to check if the sushi chef is working. So I ordered a Thai soup, mussels, and pad Thai. The soup was loaded with sugar and the shrimp was stale and distasteful. I ate one mussel before spitting it out. The mussels were oversized, had an odorous fishy smell, and were so chewy they were inedible. The waitress admitted the mussels were just reheated. And like the pad Thai, there was no steam coming out of them! Everything was heated in a microwave. Totally unacceptable. Who goes to a restaurant to spend their money on radiated food? As far as the service, my friend ordered a beef stir fry and was served chicken, which was sent back. My other friend complained about how bad the mai tai was. I felt so gross leaving this place. The smell in the restaurant when we walked in was less than appetizing but we decided to give it a try because we had a Restaurant.com certificate. The waitress took at least 20 minutes to come over to us only after getting after the owner. The waitress did not have a good attitude. The wait for the less than sub par appetizer which looked like and tasted like it came from BJ's took well over 45 minutes to arrive. When we finally got dinner and only one of us was served, the meat was burnt, looked and smelled disgusting. The restaurant ran out of sushi rice and the whole thing was such a fiasco, we left shortly after the dinner was served. It was too gross to eat. Don't ever go there. My daughter and I dined at Fusion Kitchen today. I will keep this short and sweet - THE FOOD WAS MEDIOCRE AT BEST. I paid $14.95 for shrimp terriyaki that had absolutely no flavor. My daughter ordered a combination plate that also had no flavor. We tried a sushi dish (Spider Maki) and it was average. There are times when I want something "healthy" and fast, two foods that don't usually go together but today I thought of a Bento Box. From my early years in southern CA, I've had such boxes with just the right amount of quality food that I could enjoy repeatedly. In Middleboro were I work, there are very few choices for food quality so I was kind of happy yet suspicious of a Japanese restaurant in the sticks. Unfortunately my fears were warranted. The atmosphere wasn't bad but felt dated while the chill in the air, literally was from a lack of heat. Everyone, all thee of us, were wearing coats. I understand saving money but at the expensive of your customers, this is never a good idea. Next it took the waitress several minutes to reveal herself and I know why, her attitude was as cool at the air. With a dispassion for her job, she took my take-out order and I waited, for over 25 minutes. After asking about the wayward order, she kind of apologized and said it would be right up. Another 10 minutes later and I have something that resembles a Bento box. After getting back to the office, the potentially once happy life that could have been in my food had long since left. Everything look dull dried out, and unappetizing. From the chicken, rick, and pot stickers, the quality was no where to be found. While waiting, the display of sushi was dismal. I can't think of anything positive about this place so I'll end here saying, you can avoid this restaurant and never feel like your missing out on anything. read more

The last time we waited 45 min for the appetizer ands that's all we got because or was another 20 sitting there waiting for our meal. There were only maybe 5 other customers sitting down and two people came for pick up orders during the time we waited. The rice was very bland. I had the shrimp bento and the shrimp wasn't cooked well. The prices are also very high. Most places you can get a spicy tuna roll for $5-6, but here it cost $9. Market Basket has better sushi. Very uneven. Soups for the two of us were served at widely disparate times. Both (miso soup and seafood hot and sour) were tasty, but both also served way too hot to eat without waiting a long time to cool. Salmon sashimi was generous but appeared not have been refrigerated well. Pink Lady specialty sushi roll was very well done, flavorful with crisp veggies and a nice panko crunch. My wife pronounced her beef teriyaki noodle dish inedible, the beef rubbery and seeming to have been microwaved to heat it, and the sauce bland and not very teriyaki. Waitress attention was minimal. The proprietress asked how our food was after we had finished (the waitress never did), and was gracious enough to reduce the bill when my wife complained about her entree. read more

We tried Fusion Kitchen after reading other Yelp reviews. The positive reviewers have it right. Speed of preparation in sushi rolls is not a selling point for this restaurant - but when they taste this good, who cares! Also appreciated being able to see the preparation on a large flat panel while we comfortably munched on a baby rack rib appetizer. We went with the intention of testing a variety of food to see if we could actually find a good go-to place in our area for Asian food. Tried a couple rolls, the baby back ribs and a moo shu pork. The summary, - we found our spot. read more
