Had my birthday dinner here a week ago and think this is a great place for big parties! For groups of over 9, you do have to place a deposit in person (for me it was $30/person) that's applied to your total bill later. The restaurant staff was very accommodating of our group, including us adding 2 additional people to our group the day of. I believe there is a party room for large groups, but we were able to be seated at a large half booth/half table. Upon my arrival the staff took my cake and candles and stored it safely in the back. Drinks here were pretty good. I enjoyed a Spicy Mono (my favorite) and a Bora Bee (large and strong). Everyone else in my group enjoyed their espresso martinis, beers and various cocktails. We all shared a large amount of food, but I'll just mention what I got to try. Spicy Tuna: Good, to be expected Kani Salad: Really yummy and light Bluefin Tuna Tartare: Delicious but I wish it was larger Salmon Tapas: One of my favorites Crispy Rice Sushi: Good and a good amount of tuna Crab & Spinach Dip: Really good Scallop Truffle Canapés: If in remembering correctly, surprisingly good Sunset Boulevard: I would definitely order this again! Unique in a good way because of the soy wrapping. Dragon Roll: Yummy! Sea Urchin (Uni): This was my final thing I ate and I was the only person who ate it. It did it not taste fresh at all to me, and it was $38 for 3 small pieces. I'd recommend either not getting this, or getting it with rice as it was weird just by itself. I would say the food was pricey for the quality of sushi, but it is Williamsburg and for the kind of dinner we were having...it made sense we were paying for everything that came along with a birthday dinner. The place itself lends itself to groups aesthetic wise because they play fun music, have a cute light up hallway for photo ops and have ambient lighting. In addition to the, the staff was clearly accustomed to these kinds of parties, as they arranged and lit all 29 (!!!) candles for the cake and after bringing it out for us to blow out, took it back to slice and serve it. I really appreciated our servers for doing this and overall the hospitality. One downside that really wasn't anyone's fault, but weird is a group of what appeared to be high schoolers celebrating some kind of homecoming we're taking up the bathroom having a photo shoot and I guess were pretty hammered because someone in that group threw up all over one of the bathrooms (speaking of, the restaurant has spacious restrooms). Will never return here again. From the moment we sat down, our waitress made us feel rushed. Our appetizer came out first, and while we were still waiting for the rest of our food, she kept walking by our table making side comments that made us feel like she wanted us to leave as quickly as possible. Came here on a Sunday after a relaxing day at Bathhouse to celebrate my friends bday. Not too far from the train. Happy-hour is from 4-7pm. Also serving lunch and dinner. Nice decor. Huge space. Full bar. Attentive staff. My friend and I we sat at the bar for the Happy-hour. Our bartender Isaac was wonderful; great customer service and engaging. I liked his energy. We ordered a couple things: I had the Wagyu Nori Taco which was crispy and good but small. The truffel fries were fried well and good. The Spicy salmon and Eel avocado roll were also good. My friend ordered the Corn ribs, which was flavored nicely and very interesting. She also had the crispy rice sushi; very good as well. And the Fish Taco she said, was good. Upon entering the restaurant- it is beautifully decorated with Christmas decor and grand lights The two seater tables will not be sufficient/tight fit if you order apps + entrees. At the suggestion of my coworker, we came here for a weekday lunch, planning to take full advantage of their pre-fixe lunch menu. For $25, you got to select a soup, salad, entree - either from the kitchen or the sushi bar, and dessert. It was an obvious choice, so we decided to get different entrees so we can sample what the other had. We were seated right away upon entering. Fushimi has always been known to have excellent service, and this location is of no exception. We were seated by the windows, and scanned the QR code on the table to review the menu. I like the QR code scanning - it saves on wasting paper and I can take as long as I like in deciding! I started with the seafood bisque soup, which was very tasty and rich. Little scallops danced in each bite, and the creamy soup really opened my taste-buds for what was to come. I got the kani salad, which I am a total sucker for. The portions are a bit bigger than what you would be getting for an omakase, so note this is for a great portioned lunch. My "sex on the beach" roll was delicious! Everything was super fresh and tasty - I didn't even share! The single scoop of green tea ice cream was the perfect palette cleaner after our meal - doesn't get any better! This was, unfortunately, the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. The waitstaff repeatedly hovered over our table while we were eating and even removed items without acknowledging us, which felt incredibly intrusive and disrespectful. At one point, our server changed, and the service somehow became even more uncomfortable--staff stood right next to our table in an abrasive, pressuring way. I've dined here before and never experienced anything this overbearing, which made it even more disappointing. My family and I typically enjoy taking our time and trying a variety of dishes, especially when we're spending a significant amount, but we felt rushed throughout the entire meal. This level of service is unacceptable, and it completely took away from the dining experience. I won't be returning or recommending this restaurant. Was first introduced to this place because we had our end-of-the-year staff party here (Drinks aren't that strong). Then a few of us decided to come back here a few more times because the bar food was delish! Another time we decided to "dine in" not at the bar, but then we quickly moved to the bar because the food selection was better. The Baja fish tacos were good but more of like 3/5 stars good. It lacks a bit of flavor, and presentation wise- looks like a child could put it together. The wings though, while the photos don't make it look that great, were actually pretty decent! Solid 4 out of 5, but this is from someone who absolutely loves wings and judges them with high standards! I loved the peppery taste of them, and they were crispy and juicy. Also they brought us the check before we got our entree... we waited about 40 mins for our food and then they brought out my friends food 20 mins before mine. Elaine was our main server and she was super accommodating. I ordered the shrimp teriyaki and a Philadelphia roll. I noticed that one of the shrimp had the waste still inside. I was pretty full from the Philadelphia roll, which was really good, so I didn't mind taking it home. I discard that piece of shrimp but when I ate everything the next morning it was delicious. I didn't pack the teriyaki sauce but it was still good. My friend took some photos in the waiting area and they came out great. The bathrooms were clean and big. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside. I wouldn't have thought that just from the outside. Great place for a date too. I would return. Sadly was served old fish. In our first round of sushi orders each one was no bueno. The worst was the toro roll. Unlike the others slathered in sauces and filled with filler ingredients the toro roll has no filler ingredients just raw fish. Because of this we were actually able to taste the fish. When we waited to inform our server we were promptly fed the line of "it's fresh and bought today" businesses love to shove down customers gullets as if we have no tastebuds and are beyond incompetent as to what fresh raw fish should look like. What's concerning regarding that skit is if they did buy this old fish for a deal it is disgusting and unhealthy to serve it raw. They could have cooked it into a soup or a broth to kill any potential bacteria that may have been growing. Atlas the situation was remediated several minutes later with an agreement to switch it to another roll. At this point I didn't want anymore raw food but the table got another order of "eel". I say "eel" because it (dragon roll) had no meat and barely a sliver of skin was put in (it was mainly rice and old cucumber, for each order). What was shocking in the replacement roll was to learn they had fresh products. The aguacate (avo) was not in its rotting stage (see photo) the cucumbers weren't limp and spewing puddles of water but crisp. On a singular positive note, the cooked food was still on point especially the meat. Perfectly cooked fall apart tenderness paired with an amazing thick sauce and creamy yet crispy mashed potatoes concoctions. Overall fushimi has its good days and bad but this was a horribly horrendous meal. From the bouncy calamari (past the over cooked chewy stage) to the pure vinegar salad dressing and sauce dips. It does appear they struggle to provide quality raw food when it's more packed (imo from all the times I visit less people equals better meals). Which is beyond confusing. Although maybe it's a perfect time to offload old products. read more

This was an unexpected dining but i was pleased and satisfied at the quality of drinks and food. Me and my guest were seated quickly. The waiter gave us a choice of regular or sparkling. I recommend going for the sparkling Voss water. It was delicious and changed my mind on that brand. The only problem i came across was when i asked about certain food options the waiter wasn't very knowledgeable to help influence my decision on what to get. I started off with a shrimp bisque soup that was very good along with the fried mash. My main course was the Parmesan crusted chicken that tasted even better the next day if you have some to take home. Drink of choice was the fushimi sunset. 2-3 of those will set the tone. They do a prefix lunch M-F and have Brunch on Saturday and Sundays . The sunset Blvd roll was ! Spicy tuna , salmon and yellowtail , avocado and crispy noodle..
