Unprofessional, charged full grooming cost for a bath. I wish I never asked her to come to my home to bathe my dog.

Today was the first day that I used The Mutt Puddle and I was extremely pleased with everything…read morefrom their response time, able to get my Koda in, the front desk and how Mariah took care of my sweetie. She did such a wonderful job with bathing and cutting Koda. I was extremely pleased and will definitely be going back. PS. **WARNING** READ MY REVIEW!!! I took my 5-pound Maltese to The Mutt Puddle for a grooming…read moreappointment. They couldn't follow a simple Maltese style, this wasn't our first grooming with them, I decided hair can grow out, no big deal. When we got home, I discovered a small puncture wound under her chin and abrasions across her belly. I immediately contacted David, the owner of Mutt Puddle, and expected a genuine concern for my dog and an effort to make things right. Instead, I received a lengthy email focused on a "miscommunication" regarding the grooming but no concern for my injured baby. Heartless attitude! I wasn't looking for a fight or making an unreasonable inquiry. To me, the solution was simple: acknowledge that my dog was injured, show some concern, and offer any kind of refund as a gesture of doing good business. This experience was extremely upsetting for our family. Our Maltese, Tina, is very tiny, well behaved, and very vulnerable. Now I worry how this experience wiill affect her with another groomer. Today I was notified that Mutt Puddle removed my Yelp review (prior to this one). I decided to re-write this, a lot less details, and take back my voice. This was a first hand experience, my dog, her injuries, my communication with the salon, and their response. I wasn't repeating something I heard from someone else. A negative review may be uncomfortable, but when something goes wrong, I believe a business should address the customer with a solution rather than work really hard at making the negative reviews disappear. My WARNING is simple: Before trusting this grooming salon with your dog, read their negative reviews everywhere you can. Positive reviews are easy to write, negative reviews tell you more about their business ethics. I learned the hard way that they hide behind policies created to protect them, including harm & death while in their care. Read their policies, then decide if something like this happens to you, would you be okay if they handled your situation like they did mine? Although all pet salons like Mutt Puddle are not regulated by the state of Texas nor require a license.. take the time to find a salon that does hire groomers who invest in their tools and earn certifications in their trade. Believe me, you'll notice the difference in attention to grooming details, passion, and customers service!

If I am only grading the grooming job - it would be a 4, however, I've never been treated so rudely…read moreby a groomer. After waiting 6 weeks for my appointment to come, they asked the week of my appointment if it could be moved up from 1p.m. to 8:30 a.m. - sure thing I just moved my day around. My pup and I were excited to meet our new groomer, sadly didn't feel our groomer was too thrilled to meet us. We greeted her at our front door, groomer made a face at my dog barking and her first words were, "what are we doing with this one"....not a single greeting or cared to ask my dog's name. The groomer continued being condescending, I had to stop her and tell her, "it seems like you are having a bad day and you don't have to groom my dog, we can cancel". She quickly changed her attitude. What a disappointing first experience! My dog was able to get groomed. The cut was actually great. Definitely higher end of price point for a 10lb Maltipoo - $170 with tip. If you choose to book them, don't expect Shannon to express any joy when coming to pick up your pup. First and last time using them.

Megan is great about communicating if she'll be late, early, etc. Having her come to the house makes me feel so at ease compared with taking them to a groomer.

I've been going to Lucky dog groomers for years. They had a ownership change a couple of years ago…read moreand lost the receptionist who we all really adored goodbye Miss Lisa. Over the last couple years. The service has gone downhill here. They are constantly getting new groomers and you don't have a consistent experience. At the time you get somebody who doesn't know what they're doing and the other half of the time it looks great but it's just not consistent. Now I went and visited with the owner there and got up charged for silly things that I've never been charged before before despite going there every month for probably five years. Myself and many other customers are looking for a new place to go. You probably should too.

I'm very disappointed with the service and communication at Lucky Dog Grooming. This is the second…read moretime I've had a 7:00 AM appointment, and both times I was misled by the manager. On this occasion, I was told the delay was due to flooding and traffic, but it was only light rain--and it quickly became clear these were just excuses. When a groomer finally arrived at 8:00 AM, I asked if they were scheduled for 7 or 8, and they told me they always start at 8. So why was I booked for 7 AM? To make matters worse, when I asked if my dog would be taken next, the manager initially said yes, but after a conversation between the groomers, she changed her story and claimed they had 8 AM appointments ahead of mine--even though my appointment was at 7 AM. It was frustrating and confusing. I had to request to the customer directly if it was ok if my 7am appointment could go first. There was also a dog in a crate in the back crying for over an hour--yet another example of poor care and lack of consideration. As I waited I saw 4 more dogs get dropped off all for appointments that already had multiple dogs waiting for the two groomers. Honesty and communication are essential in any business, but especially one where people are trusting you with their pets. The manager not only gave misleading information but also consistently fails to respond to messages or communicate clearly--except when it comes to offering excuses that aren't true. I won't be returning.
