The classes are very small and each human and dog get loads of attention. My class leader, Heather, was filled with knowledge, patience, humor, apathy and love. You can tell she truly loves her job and loves dogs. I learned so much and my dog and I have a stronger bond.

We enrolled our teenage puppy in the basic obedience class. We had so much fun. Our puppy is doing great as we continue the training outside of the classes and even implementing the techniques on our older 4 dogs. They use positive reinforcement and help have helped us work through our puppy's distracto brain:) Highly recommend!

Absolutely love this place!!! Jasmine is an amazing dog trainer and made us feel so welcome. We highly recommend them for any and all training needs.

Our trainer Monica was amazing. My dog Sunny and I worked with her to help Sunny's reactive behavior. I learned so much about what causes Sunny's behaviors and how to help her anxiety when around other dogs. Sunny and I still work on all of the things we learned with Monica and are thankful for the time we spent with her.

As we wrap up the training process at Fur and Feather Works for our black lab mix, we just want to say how happy we are that "Benji Package" (manners class, walkabout training, and rapid-recall training) ended up working for our dog whom we rescued from a shelter at about 6 months of age. Their style of loving, affirming training was different than the discipline style training we had previously recieved from others (which works well for some dogs), but their loving, patient, affirming treat-based style turned out to be even more effective for our dog because he was already a shy and insecure, but humble and trainable, guy. The best part of the experience was the positive socialization our fearful, introverted, and sometimes passive/aggressive dog received throughout the training process. He has gone from a dog that would bark and lunge at any person or dog he did not know, mostly due to his fears and insecurities, to a dog that is now the calmest dog at the park where we walk him. We highly recommend Fur and Feather Works and want to say "thanks!" for helping our precious boy (Dash) to become more confident and comfortable around other dogs and people!

We were very close to giving up on Mitzy, our half French Bulldog half Chihuahua when someone recommended Monica O. Our dog did not get socialized properly as a result of being born and raised during the pandemic. She is fearful, anxious around people and dogs. We had been through group and individual training and Mitzy attended a doggy boot camp with no improvement. We spent 6 sessions with Monica. By using only positive reinforcement techniques and eliminating all aversive tools and techniques recommended by previous trainers, we began to see improvement after two sessions! Monica has provided us with videos to watch, handouts to read and practiced techniques with us in individual sessions. We still have a ways to go but now have the appropriate tools and skills to get there.

Fiona's attention stays on me while we enjoy some calm minutes at the coffee shop.

The Fur and Featherworks training is starting to stick. Fiona and I have been practicing human and dog street and business encounters. A visit to Home Depot over the weekend resulted in having to owe Home Depot no money and we won't be hearing from their lawyers. The photo is at the coffee shop near my office. Fiona knows where the dog treats are kept and about 90% of the time she can sit calmly and do nothing but wag as customers come in and go out. We go early when there are few cars out front. Noon would probably be a different story, but we'll get there. Your training abilities are remarkable.

Winston started out a bit apprehensive, but was playing with the herd by the end of the two course sequence.

I adopted a young border collie mix from the Humane society of Reno…read more I learned he had been adopted and returned twice before. I thought had bad can he be. Well, I found out. He escaped from my closed in patio 8 times. Walking him was a test of patients, every little thing distracted him. Other dogs were a major problem; seems he was mentally challenged by them. Holding him back took everything I had. I am disabled and walking can be a challenge for me. I had to do something if I was going to keep him. I called multiple dog training facilities, the Only one to call me back was Stephen from Real K9 Solutions. He took Shadow for 3 weeks. When the dog came back, I was able walk him with a loose leash. He no longer attempted to escape. On walks other dogs were still a challenge, but nowhere near what it was. I can walk him today and have him sit when other dogs are near, something I would never have been able to do prior to his training. Today I have decided to keep Shadow. In fact, he is quietly laying net to me. If not for Stephen and Real K9 Solutions it would have been return number 3 for Shadow. I can't recommend Stephen and Real K9 Solutions highly enough.

Steve came in and instantly made an impact. Every single session we could see our puppy Willow getting better and better. He has a way with Dogs where they truly want to listen to him. We went onto do 3 levels of classes with him. Classes were hands down the best investment we made for him, and he went on to live a wonderful fear-free life. I attribute his high quality of life to his basic training classes and the time we put in when he was a puppy. He learned from a very young age how to settle and be calm in lots of different situations. He learned to trust our directions which kept him safe. Puppy social is in my opinion one of the best classes to put a young puppy in. They get to meet other dogs and people in a safe environment, and the puppies teach each other soft bite and learn how to be social. We recently brought a new puppy into our lives. I love the structure of Pjs classes where your puppy is with the same dogs for the 6-week duration. The happy little puppies can all see each other during the class at Pjs, no barriers (unless required to reduce stress of the pet). I like the scaffolding approach that PJs classes offer. You build the dogs' confidence and skills up in a logical way for them to learn. Plus, the puppies are all watching each other learn the same things. It's adorable. Our new puppy has done several levels of classes at Pjs' beautiful new facility in Sparks and HE LOVES IT. He just completed his AKC Canine Good Citizen, we can now consider therapy work down the road with him. He is so excited to get in the door for any play group I take him to and to his classes. We absolutely loved Rally O with Susie, she is amazing. We have referred Susie to friends with some rescues for consultations and they have been super happy. We will complete all the classes PJ dog training offers, because our dog just loves to learn, he really likes to use his brain. He exudes happiness when we get to class. Thank you, PJ and Susie, for helping us raise a happy confident dog yet again and offering such great classes. Highly recommend Pjs, they have so much experience and are CCPTD certified. They also give you time at the beginning of any class for a quick discussion on any "challenge areas". You learn so much to help you understand your dog's behavior. All classes use positive reinforcement. You learn to build a trusting relationship with your furry family members from a place of respect and love. The facility is always so clean, and they take excellent care in making sure your puppies are safe and not exposed to any bugs. We have never had any problems. 10 stars from us!!

Camp Bow Wow of South Reno is incredibly unprofessional. I would strongly recommend looking…read moreelsewhere for daycare and boarding. We went in for a tour which was provided by the owner. During the tour we discussed that our dog would be 7 months old during his stay (DOB Aug 19th 2025, making him 7 months old and 16 days at the start of the boarding on April 4th 2026). Their policy is that dogs over 7 months old must be fixed, so since we were right at that point, we wanted to see if he needed to be fixed. WE WERE TOLD HE DID NOT NEED TO BE FIXED DURING OUR TOUR WITH THE OWNER. Once he passed the evaluation, we made our reservation with the assistant manager and again confirmed that everything was acceptable with his age and intact state. AGAIN, WE WERE TOLD EVERYTHING WAS ACCEPTABLE AND ALLOWED TO MAKE THE RESERVATION. WE WERE ALSO TOLD THAT THE MANAGER HAD SIGNED OFF SINCE IT WAS ON THE CUSP OF THE AGE REQUIREMENT. After drop off, he was suddenly isolated for most of his stay with no communication via app, text, or phone, despite us opting into all alerts. We only discovered this by viewing the cameras. We saw him once on the camera, in a play pen, alone. No staff interacting with him, no dogs, nothing. He was pacing the side of the pen clearly upset. Heartbreaking. At pickup I asked what was going on with our dog. The manager replied that there were no issues. I asked again why he was separated and got the same answer. I asked a third time and pointed to the monitor in the lobby and asked why he was isolated and stated that he was clearly upset (at this point he was alone in a play pen pacing, which was currently on the monitors in the lobby). She looked at her computer and told me it was because he's not neutered and over the age requirement since he was over 8 months. I was in disbelief, especially since he was in fact 7 months old. We had checked and double checked that this would not be an issue and were reassured it would not be. After telling me there wasn't an issue, she then tried to say they were unaware of his age when they made the reservation, another blatant lie. The manager claimed our dog was over 8 months old and said they had to follow the "7-month rule" (even though he was) or they could get in "big trouble". I said this appeared to be an internal policy since other facilities had difference age requirements, including one in Spanish Springs which was 12 months. The manager then proceeded to tell me that that facility uses cattle prods on the dogs in their care, so good luck taking our dog there...the unprofessional nature of this manager was astounding. At this point I asked for partial refund since daycare (included in the boarding fee) was not provided. The manager said she had to call the owner. She came back and said that the owner said because he was over 8 months old it was our fault and we signed a waver. I expressed my displeasure with that response, and she said she'd go call again. The manager never came back and instead sent the assistant manager to collect the fee. I asked where the discount was and she said that I wasn't paying for daycare just boarding...? While I was paying the assistant manager kept saying they didn't isolate our dog and took great care of him. Ironically, during this discussion another staff member walked in and interjected herself into the conversation and said that we received a phone call when they decided to separate our dog (yet another lie). The assistant manager looked at the staff member and told her to stop talking. I tried to inquire about this supposed phone call and our dog being 'separated' and the assistant manager told me to be the bigger person and just leave. The treatment our dog received was unacceptable. The staff are unprofessional and dishonest. I strongly recommend going anywhere else. I wish I had taken the other negative reviews more seriously.
