Hosted my son's first birthday here with about 50 guests and we were impressed with the level of cleanliness, service and food delivery. Staff was super helpful, even with blowing up balloons. We purchased pizzas from the food court, as well as chicken, soft drinks, nachos, etc. The food was cooked fresh, tasted amazing and the staff allowed us to reserve the long tables for the birthday. Pretty good prices for everything as well! Definitely recommend this place to anyone in the Modesto area with kiddos! A lot of fun games, inside and outside. My brother and I recently stumbled upon Funworks and were intrigued enough to go inside and ask what they offered. We spoke with a Lead supervisor named Ivan- This person knows how to manage not only the madness of what felt like millions of children but the adult customers as well. He was patient on a fundamental level and answered every question I had with detail and care. I could not express my gratitude enough. He was cheerful, pleasant, competent, and most importantly, decent. The rest of the team we interacted with exceeded my expectations and more. Everyone from the Go Cart staff to the batting cages was a professional. How very rare in such a high-volume environment as this. What a well-formed and well-led team. When booking a reservation make sure they give you a receipt with all your information on it upon booking. I booked my sons birthday party here and I double checked with her that the date was correct and the girl confirmed only to find out come the day of my sons birthday party - I had no reservation for my date. Fun place for kids , I brought my niece to play golf . And she enjoyed the course , the go karts are not fast at all it was kind of boring for a ten year old and me the boat bumpers were closed . The HD theater was ok . Too many people running around the arcade with no mask and my niece didn't feel comfortable playing the games . read more

Came on a Sunday in August and there were no people. No lines, good fun, but sad employees. We came here to celebrate my nephews bday party. Since there aren't many options in Stockton, we made the drive here mainly for the go karts. Entertainment: We came for the go karts and there was probably 20 people in line for the adult line. This equates to a 30 minute wait since two rounds of people went ahead of us. Not a bad wait at all and the weather wasn't too hot. It was nice to just sit in the covered area on the metal railing. When it was our turn my nephew, my brother and my sister in law and niece got in our carts. The track has a few cool turns and uphills and downhills, but it's definitely no K1 Speed. We then went to try the 3D ride. If you are not sitting in the center, don't bother. The 3D only works for those sitting in the center. I didn't sit in the middle and I was dizzy. Service: I couldn't stop staring at how sad the employees looked. They seemed so inattentive and bored, it was really distracting. I guess I shouldn't expect much from teenagers just working for the summer, but a few smiles here and there go a long way. read more

2/2/19 - My son decided to take his little boy out for his birthday, he turned 5. It.was a small gathering, but we all had fun!!! I had never heard of this place, my son has been there before. We were late going because the weather was not on our side, so we were not able to participate in any outside activities. But it was okay, the most important thing is he had fun. Surprisingly, the pizza was delicious !!! And I guess because of the weather it wasn't crowded. It was well lighted and I didn't see any litter on the floor or on the tables near their well staffed cafe. Plenty parking!!! Always a great time here! I'm not sure how they do it but their pizza is amazing! The garlic chicken is so good! Even the standard cheese pizza is better than most cheese pizzas I've had! They reheat well for leftovers the next day too. The churro donut is also better than it should be haha. As far as funworks goes in terms of attractions..they have a lot! Mini golf, batting cages, go karts, bowling, lots of classic and modern arcade games, a Photo Booth, a 3D theater. It's great! Your kids will have so much fun! They also have a treehouse play structure for little ones. Over the years we've made a lot of memories here. I also realized their claw machines are actually functioning! It's never fun to play games at any arcade places where you know you won't win..but here the machines are always serviced well and they work great and you can actually win a ticket roll or plushie. I also appreciate the candy claw machine which is a play until you win machine. The prize counter has lots of options too. Even a ps5 if you save up for it. We've always left with some cool prizes. Went yesterday to celebrate my son's 6th birthday he randomly picked it. I'm so happy he did. The staff here was beyond helpful and really friendly. They were happy to help us with all our wishes. They really made my sons birthday FUN AND ENJOYABLE! We were a mess trying to figure out what packages to purchase and they were patient and helpful. Paid over $100 for the "unlimited" 4 hour Sunday pass for my family (which btw is not unlimited, apparently unlimited means 6 rides here) & only to ride the go carts twice, wait times were atrocious and of course passes are nonrefundable and non transferable so we can't even come back on a less busy day. Bumper cars were "closed for charging" the entire time. I think the whole system needs a revamp, total waste of money. read more

This is a fun place! We were able to social distance from other groups and play Putt Putt. Fun times! I had an issue with a machine inside and the staff was very helpful. One suggestion would be to have garbage cans somewhere along the course. Best place to take your kids. We come here ALL the time. They have a dirt track to race RC cars, bating cages, bumper boats to get soaked in during summer hot days, golfing, our favorite Go-Karts. And inside they have an indoor playground, XD theater, arcade, bowling, bunker cars and food! We absolutely love this place. Although we have a large family it can get pricey. I do wish they offer day passes or something similar but with covid they stopped I believe. They even offer birthday packages. This place is great for all ages. Nice size establishment with great employees and lots of kind families and kids. Very much a local spot. Batting cages were all fully equipped and an employee was always available to help. The arcade had all games working and could only benefit from having more space. It has a pin ball machine which is great for the older crowd. They have an air hockey table and a miniature bowling alley. Didn't try the food, but after a days worth of playing in the tunnels and miniature golfing anything is good. read more

It's pretty standard play location that's suited for all Ages. Simple attractions: Go kart-with 3 lanes to differ the speeds, height requirement, and ages. Bumper cars- height requirement Water boats- height and age requirement. Note if you ride these and are not fully dry you may be asked to wait to ride other rides. XD 3D theater- they have a less intense ride style of these chairs on the arcade. But if you have a smaller child they can shut off the chair so they can enjoy the 3D show. Put put golf- two course standard feel. Noticeable change they added VR gaming Menu needs more visual my opinion only. read more

Funworks was a-ok. We tried out the arcade, boat ride, and go-carts. The highlight of the trip was that the Modesto RC (remote control cars) club had a get together in the corner of the park. They were having official races with an MC. It was fun to just chill and watch the cars go flying and flipping. They even sell the cars if you want one for yourself. The arcade could be cleaner and have better airflow. It seems a bit stuffy in there. They had a cute bowling game we enjoyed. The boat ride was longer and more fun than expected. We had a good time on the go-carts, but waiting in line for the go-carts sucks because you get stuck in an area with a roof which traps in all the exhaust. It's seriously smelly and is bad for your health. If the carts were electric then that would be awesome, but I think there's a different place in the area that has those. They employees have blank stares, but are generally nice when you ask them questions. read more

We took our daughter here since it was her birthday and wanted to pee wee golf. Decent price and golf course seems to be maintained and clean. We always enjoy going to funworks. The best deal is going during the week so you can use the daily specials. We went Wednesday & got wrist bands & did the upgrade. The kids enjoyed the food. I have seen it's always clean for the most part. If everyone cleaned up after themselves it would remain clean. We went today to play putt putt golf & found that they were closed to the public. As the disappointment set in on my little ones face a worker came up to our car with passes to be used on another day. Way to go Funworks I love that it's always about the kids & not the money. In all honesty, it's been years since I've been to Funworks, so I'm not sure if that gives me the right to write a review. But I'm going to anyway, for 2 reasons: 1) from my drive-bys and from reading other reviews, it looks like not much has changed about it, and 2) I feel like I need to come to this place's defense by mentioning a point that I'm not sure anyone else has. Growing up, I came to this place ALL. THE. TIME. And as much as I'm a sucker for tradition, the truth is, as an adult it takes a little more to hold my interest than it did when I was a child. When I go miniature golfing now, I admit, it's somewhere else. But man, I loved it here when I was a kid. Maybe it was because I didn't know anything else (miniature golf places were a bit scarcer in this area then), but I couldn't get enough. A big part of this was because a couple of the holes are so damn easy. On these holes, the ball is directed in such a way that at least half the time, you're probably going to get a hole-in-one. And that's exactly what makes Funworks a great place for very young children. Basically, a couple of these holes are the miniature golf equivalent of bowling with those gutter bumpers. A little kid doesn't care that they're bowling with bumpers, they just feel great that they knocked the pins down. And I have memories of getting holes-in-one as a little kid and feeling like a million bucks. Who wouldn't want their kid to have that feeling? So if you have younger kids who haven't already been exposed to more attention-grabbing miniature golf places, this just might be a great starter course for them. read more

Attended a birthday party here. Sure it might be fun and I have had fun here before but that was outside-indoors is another reality. It is Disgustingly dirty. Im not a germaphobe or a clean freak by all means but there was 3 inches of dust on the outside of the play structure next to tables where we ate. Not to mention the 5 inch long dust bunny hanging off the side of it. Also I leaned up against a railing and my sweater stuck to it. A suggestion would be to have a janitor throughout the day and hand sanitizer available throughout the facility. Also a heads up.. bathroom stalls are built for kids -if you are the slightest bit overweight you will struggle closing the stall door and possibly fall in the toilet. read more

We came out early Saturday morning from an hour drive(mountains) and I wanted to take my almost 18 year old Autistic son for his first drive! I approach the guys and explained my situation! They were so cool about it! They buckled him in his on kart in front of mine, showed him the green for go & red for stop peddles, and explained to me they'd start his first lap on super slow! If I gave them a thumbs up they'd bump it up a speed! Also they have a kill switch just Incase(all remotely). Never seen that boy smile so much!! We will be back! Now the whole family wants to go! As a single mom, theres not many places i can bring my kids to, thats fun for all groups and affordable. My son (5) had a baseball game on Monday and after we brought him to the batting cages. I spent well over $50 for my kids to batt. That day the bating cages kept breaking and i kept having to go tell them. It was a PAIN!!! We ended the night with 2 rounds of go carts! Then we came on thursday that same week and i spent about $160 on games, and attractions. The kids had a pretty great time. They road the gocarts, everything was great! We are now here on friday, the day after. I have spent $85 on attractions. All the staff remembers us, its great. But now that there is different staff at the go carts, they are saying my 16 year old cannot drive my 5 year old bcuz she doesnt have a liscence. Mind you she has been driving him two days prior to this visit. I dont allow for my 16 year old to get her liscence bcuz one i cannot afford it and two, her dad and i think she shud wait another year bcuz we secretly want to be able to purchase her a new car. Now, my kid is crying so hard bcuz he doesnt understand how come he cant ride with his sister today. I called the GM and instead of accomadating me AFTER showing her ALL my reciepts from the entire week, and explaining to her, she didnt give my son access to the go carts with his 16 YEAR OLD sister !!!! She gave me 20 stinkin tokens... mind yu each game cost 4-6 tokens... I AM FURIOUS!!!! & 100% DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE OF FUN WORKS!!! I told her to please bring up in their meetings how the rules are not being carried out by each staff memeber from the beginning!!! Spent 7$ on mini golf here with a group of friends. It was 11 at night and there were kids on the water. No parents around .. Also the holes were not worth it. So we kept out balls from the last hole, because the last hole takes the balls, and went another nine holes before we left. Everything else looked way too expensive.
