If you paid $20 for tokens you got a great deal. The food and water was expensive but we brought in our own bottle of water and they didn't complain. The kids had an amazing time. This was my first time here. Horrible, horrible service. Waited about 10 minutes for someone to come to the counter to help us....almost just got the golf clubs and balls myself and went out to play! Pricing is not really displayed, just the large packages. Once we were playing, the courses are very old, landscaping is non existent, with the exception of a lot of weeds. While we were playing golf there was a guy using a leaf blower all around the course....we could even hear each other talk! Tried to get something to drink at the snack bar....was told the register there was not working so I had to go back to wait 5 minutes to be helped at the other register! All in all a very expensive time, so not worth the money for the experience or ambiance. Won't be back. Will try another place! read more

We've only played inside because they're little young for some of the outside stuff, but they always have a blast in the arcade area and the treehouse play area. The only time we come here is for Cub Scouts Popcorn Kickoff and each time has been great. The kids have a great time playing bowling, the lazer beam game, virtual roller coaster and the 3D video experience. My one complaint is that the kids maze in the back is not monitored, and often it was crowded or full of rowdy kids who were knocking down some of the smaller kids. I understand that the parents should also be monitoring their kids but it would have been helpful to have someone regulate the amount of kids actually in there. They did a great job with food this year; I liked that portioned out food so that we got a fair chance to get enough pizza & hot dogs for the family. read more

Although it seems like theres a lot to do, most attractions cost extra. Spent $100 for myself and two kids and we were done in 3 hours, and had done all the rides multiple times. The huge play place inside, the treehouse, has an age limit. Which makes no sense. If anything, maybe a weight or height limit would be more appropriate. My niece wasnt allowed to re-enter after she had already been on the attraction earlier that day. All because she's one year removed from the age limit. We were here to celebrate her brothers birthday and funworks did not deliver the exciting day we were expecting, and OVERpaid for. Oh. And our souvenir cup got stolen while we were on the bumper cars..... probably wont be coming here again. read more

I've been coming here for many years to race at Modesto radio control raceway inside Fun Works. Fun Works is a great place for kids and families, parties, mini golf, arcade, bumper cars and boats, indoor playground, etc. the staff are very nice and attentive, the place is always clean especially for the amount of people who come here. There is one employee in particular named Tamara. She probably works harder than anyone there and always has a smile and a kind way about her. Thank you Fun Works! read more

It was a nice pastime. My kids enjoyed themselves. The staff seems to need better training on all saftey checks when boarding children onto the rides. My 5 year old got on the bumper cars and the employee did a half of a second glance towards my sons lap. I noticed right away it was far too lose. My son knows how to buckle his own belt but not how to tighten it. At any amusement park or fairgrounds I've always seen the staff tug on everyone's belt, even adults, to ensure saftey. She started the ride without properly securing my son. I mentioned it to her before the cars actually started spinning so she rushed to tighten it. She almost tripped because the ride started as she was trying to back away, she made it in time and didn't injure herself thankfully. Hopefully this kind of carelessness doesn't endanger anyone or end up in a lawsuit for Funworks. The food also isn't too great. Pizza is tolerable, funnel cake fries were decent but the super nachos were gross. They literally use pizza toppings for them. ‍ I've never had Italian sausage on my nachos, it was weird and not tasty at all. Would not recommend the super nachos. The in and out privliages are nice with the wristbands though. If we do go again, we know now to eat elsewhere. read more

I took my daughter here today to have fun about 2 hours after they opened. I took her over to the toddler play area where the door was UNLOCKED and there was no sign saying it was closed. This was well after opening time. I took our shoes off and she was playing. An employee came over and said "this area is closed I just need to uhm clean and yeah.." the area looked very clean, then she said "did you even check in?" She was kind of rude overall. I didn't argue and took my daughter out and then over the next ten minutes several families and children went to the same play area and NOTHING was said. Funworks continues to be a family favorite for birthdays and a good time. Wristlets for extra activities such as gokarts or bumper karts are affordable especially with Groupon deals. Games are well kept and affordable. My kids and I always have a blast when we visit. We do hope this business continues to run as we hope to return again and again in the future. Pretty pricey wished there were more deals going on here but usually always same prices. Go karts are my beyond favorite the track is the best way better then boomers go kart track that's for sure and $9 ain't bad to go around the track. Poorly staffed!!! Managers/owners should really review the business concept and stop trying saving money by under staffing in order to maximize profit. This approach has already proven not to be effective. My wife, kid and I went there last Saturday just after their opening hours. There was only one guy at the reception trying his best to help everyone. He did a very good job under the circumstances. Once we paid for the tickets, we decided to go carting first. Their carting isn't really for those who like to compete as they programmed the cars to stop in case if there was any kind of bumping. Obviously, people would bump to each other anyway and everyone else who weren't doing nothing wrong, would be penalized as all carts wouldn't move. Then, we wanted to go to the bumping boats, but there weren't anybody there to help us. We waited a good 15 minutes and nobody came to help us. There wasn't any sign letting people know if it had different opening hours or anything. We looked at the carting area from where we were, and we saw at least 5 staff members just chatting and having a good time, while we were waiting to be helped. My wife had to go to them and ask if there would be someone to go and open the bumping boats area. The time was approximately 12pm and finally the opened the bumping boats area. Not worthy! Don't waste your time and money at this place. I would rate a zero if I could. read more

This place was great for the price. 50% off today on the Extreme Fun Pass because of Black Friday. Not really crowded but then again maybe it was a normal crowd since we are out of towners and we are use to Speed Zone in Los Angeles. The place is great for kids. My 3 & 8 year old kids had a blast. They have a on site snack bar area if you get a little hungry. Some ppl might say the Go Karts suck however it's very well controlled when it comes to getting bullied on the track. Meaning bumbing you or your kids. They monitor it pretty good so that if theres a idiot driver out there they will get checked by slowing there kart down. We came here a couple weeks ago and it was so much fun! We did just about everything they offered here. The bumper boats were extremely fun. I haven't laughed that hard in years. You get soaked though so wear swimsuits and take towels. We did run into some issues where we had to wait for a staff member or grab someone to come start something for us, but I think it could be solved by lowering the # of people working the go cart area. The gentlemen all seem to congregate there and should be split up to make sure every area is covered. Miniature golf was super fun and it was cool that there were different routes you could do. The go carts were surprisingly really fast and super thrilling. I liked how there were different races based on age. The arcade was pretty expensive, games produced low amounts of tickets and the prizes were so-so. I would pass on the arcade portion. Save your $ and do all of the other amazing stuff. read more

It was absolutely amazing and I appreciated every single staff member very very much. I was really upset with my experience today at Funworks...half of the video games were down and not working and the inside was so muggy and cleanliness was definitely not at the top of their list. There was garbage at every table and floors were so gross looking. Even garbage outside on the golf course . My daughter dropped her ball and it bounced into the bushes and she lost it and they wouldn't give her another ball and i spent $300 at this place. Very disappointed as well as bathrooms needed cleaning. The cleanliness made me decide not to eat there and makes me not to want to go back anymore. Carpet needs shampooed and place needs a remodel. Prices were overpriced for what wasn't offered... their vending machines empty and only took cash. Batting cages need to be recalibrated balls get knocked down by netting before able to hit ball and tried another cage and balls were flying at face level and another cage balls weren't reaching the plate. Also no transactions in the food court..had to get back into a line where people were paying for attractions. Very unorganized and disgusted with overall experience. Especially with Covid being still relevant in today's society and I can't stress this enough the cleanliness of this place is not where you want to be when cleanliness should be at the top of their list. read more

I am very proud of Modesto for having funworks! I remember back in the day thinking 1970s there was Putt-Putt and Roller King out that way or, you could go to Chuck-E-Cheese there weren't very many good alternatives for birthdays arcades Etc I looked online and found that they had a pizza deal for a family of four for $25 as well as a Monday special which made the unlimited package $24 a person! We went and ate lunch, rode the go-karts which are electric and fast! Did the 3D movies which were awesome! The bumper cars would Spin and have lights and music! The pirate ship bumper boats we got soaked! And played many arcade games! The atmosphere was family-friendly, it was budget-friendly, and again as a native Modestan I'm pleased that our town has this to offer! Hannah and Yesenia helped put on a fun party for my daughter. Yesenia called a couple days before and asked about themes and to make sure my daughter's name was spelled right. Asked about how many adults and kids, told us to bring our socks to play in the treehouse. She was super helpful with everything, she even let us in 15 min.'s before opening to let us decorate before everyone came. Because our party started at 10am. One of the little things that Hannah did for us was put the pizza under the warmer because I thought that the kids would be hungry at 10:30 and no they wanted to play. So she put it under the warmer. A couple times we asked her to take it out so we could get some pieces, she was fast with getting it and putting it back when we were done. I thought the pepperoni and olive pizza was good. It was my first time going to Funworks this past weekend, and I went with a group of friends from out of town. I had expected the experience to be a fun one, but it ended up being very frustrating. We had purchased the wristbands for 6 attractions and unlimited bumper boats and golf, and just to start, the prices were very high for what it was. We had initially wanted to ride the water bumper cars, but when we approached the attraction, the employee Jacob, let us know that it was better to ride other attractions first and then come back to this one because once you are wet you would not be allowed on other rides. So we said okay thanks, and proceeded to go on other rides. We walked past the main registers and there were at least 5 employees, this is important to how the rest of the night went. We walked over to the indoor bumper cars and we waited with no employee around to start the ride. So we went back to the registers to ask someone to come start the ride, and it took a few minutes after that for anyone to show up. Afterwards, we went on to play other games and finally around 10:40pm we went to the water ride now that we were ready. When we went up to the gate, Jacob informed us that the ride was closed for the night. We told him that he was the one who said to come back later in the evening to ride, and he said well they were closed. We were confused because FunWorks doesn't close until midnight. So we went back to the register. We simply asked someone at the counter what time they close the water attraction, and they said at midnight. We informed her that the employee there had told us it was closed. She walkied them and told them to open it up and we started to head over. Meanwhile, the employees behind the counter were whispering about how they had already closed it for the night, while the one who told us to head over said to them that it shouldn't be. We headed over to the ride, and in front of us was a group of about 6 young adults who were under the influence. They even stated so as we stood in line. The employees who were managing the ride seemed upset, but we waited in line. The 6 in front of us went on double seats which left 2 more open for us, in addition to 2 that were marked as Out of Order. Conveniently, the 2 that were open BUT NOT MARKED out of order, moved but did not squirt out water. So we asked if we could ride once the first group was finished. Jacob then said that he didn't think so because he "clocks out at 11 soooo...". We stood in line regardless because there was another employee present at the attraction. During the first groups ride, the employees watched on. But, as the ride continued, one of the riders decided to hop out of their boat into another. The employees said nothing in regards to the maneuver. Finally, their ride was over and they got out. Jacob had left with the keys to the gate, so we had to wait until he came back for the other employee to open the entrance to the ride. Once he did, the employees talked for about 5 minutes while we waited. Overall, it was an extremely frustrating experience. I believe that management has to step in more and monitor their employees attitudes and make sure that there are people at every ride to allow people to actually ride what they paid for. Until that is accomplished, I would not recommend for anyone to come here. Tl;dr High prices. Lack of employees at rides, but plenty chatting. Bad attitudes. read more

We asked how long the go cart ride was and they said 3-6 min long and we asked another worker how long and they said every ride is 6 min so we went off and timed how long the go cart ride was and it was only 2 and a half min long. Also it took them 15 min for one boat ride just to get people on and off. We ordered nachos and it took 15 min for them to make sure our coupon was valid. After that we went up after ten min of a wait and asked how much longer. They said we didn't get a ticket and they looked all over and found it in a trash can. Apparently the machine broke so they had to fix it before resuming. It took at least 20 min to get our food out. Everything seemed to go down hill. My family likes Mark Leonetti as the store manager better. He loved to talk to us and make sure we all had a wonderful time there at fun works. To bad he got laid off. read more

We came on a Wednesday and used a 2 for 1 coupon we had for the extreme wristband. I am so glad I did not pay for both because it was not worth it!! The staff is very unfriendly, the place is kept dirty, and it takes way too long for you to get your food order (it doesn't taste good enough to pay for or for the 20 minute wait). It wasn't even busy and every table (which only one was being used) had food left on them and on the seats. We had to wait 10 minutes at the front desk to get the mini golf clubs (we would've waited longer if we didn't decide to just go behind the desk and get them ourselves). AND 2 of the attractions that came with the wristband weren't even open!! Save your money, go to Boomers! read more

This place is so ridiculous! The go-carts are so unorganized and it's a completely stupid system they go by age n height for the go-carts so if you want a faster one say your over 13 yr old so your child can race the same time as you! They should be going by height not both. They run two different races the faster cars and the slower speed cars except they skip the slower car multiple times so they wait in line double the time. The staff was not helpful in guiding you to the correct line or explaining why or how it works. I'd rather go to boomer next time at least it's fair and easy your either tall enough to ride alone or your not!! read more
