The place is cute, food wasn't bad, but the pricing was so unprofessional. We ordered about $60 bucks total of food, but our bill was $85 roughly. We asked for explanation, and they said the prices increased due to a sign on the door (that's been there for 6 months apparently). So at this point, the price could've been anything they want (see photo). So all in all, they made up prices, said the menus are old, and didn't really seem to have a clear price point on anything. Fullerton Restaurant is a diner located on the northwest corner of Fullerton and Western. The interior has the look and feel of a diner, with a bunch of booths and a small counter with stools setup. There is a back room that is apparently reserved for larger dining groups that would not fit at a standard booth. My love and I dined here on a recent Saturday afternoon. There was a decent number of customers, but we were happy that no other customers were really close to us during our mealtime. The service was prompt and courteous. The menu is thick with lots of food options, many of which you would expect at a diner. I ordered a reuben sandwich and my love went with a bacon burger. For a slight upcharge (looked like a dollar to $1.50 depending on the menu item) you can make your meal deluxe by adding on a cup of soup and a side of fries which is a pretty decent deal. The reuben was tasty, but the star of the plate was the creamy side of thousand island dressing that I used to dip everything, including the steak fries. Since this is a diner-kinda place, I was leaning towards ordering breakfast. I mean, generally you can't go wrong with b-fast food at a diner, right? But I saw a chicken Caesar salad on the menu, and somehow got it into my head that's what I wanted. I was prepared for a kinda sad salad. After all... it's a diner. Maybe some iceberg lettuce, maybe one slice of tomato, right? Well surprise, surprise, it was actually a humongous salad (possibly enough for 2 people!) with slices of 2 full tomatoes, a giant mound of romaine, (not only iceberg), pretty darn tasty (and decent textured) crispy chicken, fried croutons, and creamy Caesar dressing. I was pleasantly surprised, extraordinarily full, and I agree with some other folks -- knowing we wouldn't have to wait as long to be seated as Cozy Corner was a plus. Although I have a friend who swears their cheeseburgers are the best here, I usually stick to breakfast. They are just greasy enough to help kill off the remnants of any hangover you may have acquired the night before. I especially like the hash browns here. Fairly inexpensive and well done and they are always happy to prepare orders for takeout. Service is much faster at the counter than at tables. They keep your coffee mug refilled all the time and offer refills on soda. Standard diner food, but they recently have added dinner hours and some Korean options (the owners are Korean) that I have yet to try. In all honesty, this is really a 2-3 star place, but I'm giving them 4 because they have a nice staff, are family owned and cheap - every neighborhood should have one of these. read more

Had lunch here recently, and was unfortunately disappointed with this place. It's ironic my experience was so similar to Jillian's, getting pecan pancakes here that I didn't care for. However they prepare pancakes here(not sure if it's the way the pancake batter is made here or what), the ones served here fell apart too much for my standards. And this is coming from someone who's been to other diners that've done excellent jobs of preparing pancakes. At least the prices are very fair, and the server I had here was decent. I'd be open to giving this place another chance, but would probably hit up Golden Nugget the next time I wanted to hit a diner in this area instead, despite it being pricier. If you were a fan of the old Johnny's Grill that was in Logan Square for over 30 years, you will love The Fullerton Restaurant. Great food at great prices. Their skirt steak breakfast is the best I've had outside of having it at home ;) I'm a sucker for a good biscuits and gravy and theirs is perfect. The staff are friendly and it has an old time feel to it. I recommend this spot to everyone I know looking for a good little spot for breakfast or lunch. It's a diner and nothing else. The decor hasnt changed in 25 years. The waitresses were awesome and friendly and came to my attention right away when the second half of my grilled cheese was missing most of the cheese. i think it was processed cheese though so ewwwww..this is a reason why they only get 3 stars but what do you expect at a little diner? I really loved that we were given a carafe of iced tea. They must have seen my boyfriend coming because he always gets about 3 refills so the carafe really saves them a few trips to the table. p.s. $4.99 special for grilled cheese and a cup of soup.
