I sent Jim an email and asked the basics questions and was able to schedule a time to talk to him over the phone. I told him my story and my requirements around acquiring a car. Jim is easy to talk to, down to earth, not pushy, and he went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable about the car. We drove up to Morgan Hill and meet him in the early morning. He greeted us with a smile and gave us space to crawl over the car and tossed us the keys and told us to take it around the block and to come get him if we had any questions. We made up our minds and the process to purchase started. Normally buying a car makes me want to tear my eyes out. But the hardest part of this process was making the decision to buy a 30-year-old car with no SS or Z28 badge on the grill... Please save yourself any trouble and do not buy a vehicle from Full Throttle and Jim Erickson. Some background: I purchased a car from Full Throttle that hasn't been able to pass a smog test since the original purchase date because the ECU monitors arent clearing. Upon attempting to return the car (CA law says you cant sell a car without it being smog legal) Jim Erickson and his mechanics gave me misinformation about needing to reset my drive cycle first. Upon doing so for thousands of miles, I realized resetting my uncleared monitors just wasnt happening. I took it to a real professional and upon doing so, found out that the issue is the car doesnt have its original downpipe, it is not legally configured and he refuses to take the car back or even after he misplaced the parts around the shop. Now he refuses to even cover the cost to get this car back to stock so I cant even get it smogged. This car cant be legally registered as a result. Jim Erickson didnt provide the necessary parts to have this car made legal nor did he feel any sense of urgency or responsibility to get this settled on his end. He keeps recommending illegal underground shops to do the work, which I have no idea what the work even entails. DO NOT TRUST JIM AND HIS MECHANICS. He threw me aside, avoided my calls and was very unprofessional. I DO NOT recommend. This was an awful experience that overall seemed very shady from the beginning. His constant argument is that "I Knew the vehicles condition" which is still against the law and literally an admission of guilt that this vehicle was not smoggable. NOWHERE in the original description did it say this car will not pass a smog, we had no bill of sale. I have already alerted the DMV, B.A.R of consumer affairs and am currently pursuing legal action. SAVE YOUR MONEY. TL; DR: Avoid this shop for all auto / consignment sales unless you want thousands in legal fees. Update to owners response: Jim, You never disclosed that this car couldnt pass smog and further you didnt provide the stock parts to allow it to pass. You completely put that responsibility on the buyer which is absolutely illegal in CA. This is the point I've been trying to get across to you since I purchased the vehicle. I messaged and called you dozens of times with no response so please don't write that narrative. You threw me aside and were very unprofessional about the exchange after the car couldnt pass smog. read more

Do not use these guys you will see on google they had their own shop manager put a review. All reviews are from people they know. Aaron Sutton(posted a positive review on google and is their shop manager), Jasper RUBENSTEIN and Ashot ramshankaredyyy are all frauds. They took my car charged me a bunch of money and then returned the car in pieces. Trust me avoid this shop at all costs and don't be fooled by their fake rating. Horrible company to work with. We ordered coil overs front and back for our vehicle and only to receive an email a few days later stating that we had to pay and additional $400.00+ more to receive both front and back. The website clearly stated that they were a full set (front and back) and I even received a confirmation email with pictures! It took over a week to reach someone in the customer service department and I talked to the supervisor James and he stated that they did not have to stand behind their advertised prices and that in section 4 of the Terms and Services that they had to right to change prices at any time. He said I HAD to pay the additional funds otherwise they wouldn't complete the order or just send the front end. I am taking my business elsewhere, to a company who stands behind their adds and products and I would suggest anyone considering to purchase through Throtl, not to. I was pursuing a classic mustang and a real contender appeared at Full Throttle recently. The website itself has a solid variety of images and description for available cars but anyone doing their research will always have questions. Jim fielded several emails full of specific questions I had on the car in question. All his replies came in a timely fashion and more importantly were accurate and honest. When you can't see a car in person and you live far away (as I do) this sort of service is invaluable. It was also brought to my attention that Full Throttle offers airport pickup from the San Jose Airport to take you to their showroom directly. No having to rent a car or take a taxi, which just adds another tedious step if you're from out of town and want to check our your dream car. Ultimately, I chose another mustang- a choice based strictly off the vehicle and not the company. Still, in efforts to keep things entirely accurate, and though I am sure Full Throttle earns there 5/5 stars, I chose 4/5 simply because I didn't have a chance to complete the entire process and drive away with a car. If you find the car you're looking for at Full Throttle, go for it. They'll treat you right. read more

Long story short, Jimmy sold my parents old Porsche for them after they thought they couldn't sell it because they wouldn't get an offer they felt was acceptable.
