Best auto shop experience I ever had. Just brought my car back from the shop. My experience with this shop is all good. Starting with a phone inquiry, their response was friendly and professional. Yes, they are busy, but they are very accommodating to my schedule too. Before I took my car in, I had an idea what my engine service light means through my car code scanner. But I'm not a mechanic and I don't know how accurate my scanner is and how much I can trust it. I took the car to George. His son Joe took care of me. Very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and understanding. He called me later when they had time to check my car out and told me the problem my car is having which is totally in-line with the scanner. (They did not know I had scanned the code already). They found a leak in a hose that would explain the failure code. They recommended to replace it and see if the code would go away, and to make sure no other problems were hidden behind that. They did not find additional problem. So, they only charged me for replacing the hose and a dirty air filter. The conclusion is: they know what they are doing and they did not try to sell me something that I don't need. They are honest, experienced, and knowledgeable. I believe this is a family business. Their passions and experience about auto repair is clearly evidenced. Yes, they charge 3% credit card fee. So, if you want to save a little, bring cash. To me, I am super happy that I found a auto shop for life ! read more

I brought my BMW X5 in because a red warning light came on. The shop told me it was just a routine maintenance reminder and simply reset the light without doing a proper diagnosis, charging me $200. Right after I got the car back, the AC stopped working. I had my son bring it back, and this time they said the coolant level was very low and charged me another $453 to refill it. It seems clear the original warning was related to low coolant, which they failed to catch during the first visit. Instead, I ended up paying over $600 for what should have been identified from the start. $653 just to refill coolant is over charging. I raised my concerns but never received any follow-up. Very disappointed with the lack of proper diagnosis, poor communication, and high pricing. I won't be returning. read more

I moved from Las Vegas back to the Bay Area and moved to Morgan Hill. I didn't want to commute to San Jose so I was searching for a local Auto shop where I could get my flat tire serviced. I found George's Auto Service on yelp with all great reviews. I called and they were able to help fix my flat. I also needed to get a smog due because I needed to register my vehicle back in California. I called and made an appointment. The woman over the phone was very pleasant. Got my smog done. Came here a few times and then eventually got a new vehicle. read more

The $2400 I was quoted for a Catalytic Converter turned into $3200 because I was told I had a leak, but I would not be charged a penny for them fixing it. I was also told the 3% credit card charge, which is illegal in California, would be waived. I left messages with no return phone calls. read more

They said they could not patch my tire because they were busy and had to leave at 5 or they get in trouble. Yet not too busy to be chatting? I gotta tell ya.... I had a small issue, but it was big enough that I needed help on a Saturday. Screw got lodged in my tire, I put some pressure into it and it lost half overnight. So not a puncture that could wait. Tried calling several places Saturday morning that were supposedly open in the area and no one answered, except for one of George's sons. GPS failed me, go down another 100ft on Joleen and you'll see it. Roll in, pleasantly greeted by the son that answered the phone and I have totally forgotten his name now, gah! But, car goes up and repair underway, not a plug but a patch! THANK YOU! I've had plugs done before and hate them... Walk around the lot a bit and the cars... OMFG THE CARS! I couldn't believe my eyes with some of the classics and quality they were doing. Giddy as a little kid I just keep waking and getting to talk to the guys at the shop and meeting George, this place is legit! It's so rare to find awesome local shops like this and I'm telling you now, when I get my dads 79 Vette out here from AZ, I know where I'm taking it for a little transmission work! What started out as great service turned into a headache. I needed a smog done quickly to register my new car. I had my newborn in the car and needed the work done fast. They were kind and hospitable, they completed it within an hour. However... as soon as I pulled out of the shop my left front tire started marking "pressure low," that's odd I thought, since I had driven from SJ with no issue. I pulled over about a block away and noticed a nail/ screw sticking out. I made a quick u turn went back and showed them. The tire guy was on lunch and the repair took an additional hour to complete. I thought they would take care of it since it happened there... but instead I got charged an additional $55 for the repair. The smog was $68. So in total I spent $123, not a god day. read more

I blew out my tire driving back to SF from San Luis Obispo and found George's shop on Yelp. Given the unlucky situation on the way home from a road trip, I drove straight there as my tire was leaking air and the countdown has started... Unfortunately, upon inspection my tire was too damaged to get patched up and needed replacing. Although they couldn't replace it the day-of because they didn't have the non-standard 19" tires I needed, Johnny was super helpful and patient and spent much more time than needed for a simple tire replacement. I was super picky with my tires on my 2011 BMW 335i and even ordered some tires outside of the normal supplier they work with and since I have to come back from SF to pick up my car, they were willing to hold it for the week until I could come back. About 2 years ago I was referred here by my neighborhood Facebook page. I was blown away by this place, it's a family ran business, George is still there everyday with his son hard at work. Not only have they been fair with me and completely honest, but they explain everything to me, they tell me if there's a recall that's been placed on my vehicle, and I feel like every time I go in there I've known them for years. They're some of the most kindhearted people I've ever met. I saw a few 1 star reviews which shocked me, because they're 100% on their game. I've called 4-5 times to schedule a clutch replacement appointment and each time I'm having to leave a number for a call back. I have yet to receive any call back. If the job is not worth your time or too difficult, then please let the customer know. I can't say much about the quality of work but I can tell you that the customer service aspect is lacking. read more

Took my 1997 Mercedes in for a tune up oil change. He was looking at my invoice when he realized they put the wrong oil in it. Didn't hurt the car, but he was aware. This was in sept. Just left there (01/04/2017) and he wasn't going to charge me, due to their mistake. Well I thought that's cool but... I asked to be charged just the materiels , oil and filter. I was passing through on my way to Southern California when my car started to sputter and my emissions light went on. I pulled over, Yelped, and found George who ran diagnostics tests for a solid 30 minutes. George could tell I was a little anxious about the light since we had another 3 hours to go on the road, but he took the time to explain and reassure me that it was most likely my computer recalibrating. Watching George say goodbye to his son, listening to him speak proudly of his 4 sons, and his wife, the love of his life -- I knew George was a good man. A person whom I could trust despite my nerves with car trouble in general. He didn't charge me for his time. For George, it was a simple random act of kindness. So I hit the road with my daughter in tow, a warm heart and a desire to pay it forward to someone else. That was a nice thing you did George. Been here a few times now and the 5 star reviews are right on the money. I always wait for a bit to post just in case something happens, but it has been a few months and everything he worked on is still working great. I randomly stopped by once on whim and he came out and took a look at my truck. He diagnosed it the same as another shop that couldn't do the work for a couple of weeks. I couldn't wait that long with the axle and all. He was about a bit more expensive on that one, but he insisted that he was worth it and did a great job fixing the problem. Not to mention he said I could drop it off the next day and have it by the next morning. Also, I had another problem... Stopped by and BS'ed for a minute and he took a look and set me up to drop it off again. Even my nervous lil toddler likes this guy. Here's the breakdown: 1. Great for drop-ins, but obviously don't expect it. 2. Nice guy that will hang out and chat for a bit about other options for your car. 3. Insists on American made quality parts (rare these days) 4. He or one of his guys will seemingly drop everything to get a quick eyeball on what the problem is. 5. Has no problem telling you how it is. All around nice shop, nice people (even when ya stop by with a stupid question). I think the bad reviews are people who just have no people skills, like being a normal polite person with reasonable expectations. I am pretty sure I will get my suspension done over there pretty soon. read more

My experience with George was great. I needed an old suspension bushing pressed out of Austin Healey leaf spring. I stopped by another shop in Morgan Hill and they wouldn't touch it. I walked into George's shop where there were multiple cars in every bay, packed to the ceiling, everyone hard at work. George and his son Joe stopped what they were doing and asked me what I needed. They pulled the codes off the computer, slapped on a new gas cap and within 15 minutes (without an appointment) and $50, my problem is solved AND I've got a new mechanic team for all my vehicles. This is my car warranty runs out with the auto dealer I'll be coming here for service all the time the dealer recommended $1500 worth of work and when I brought it to George because I didn't trust the dealers recommendation the truth came out and I spent less money that address the issue instead of spending money and wasting it on the dealers recommendation as all the other recommendation say - trust George read more
