I needed a smog test for my diesel Sorinter conversation that hadn't been done in years, so I was apprehensive about the whole process. The guys at this Smog Check Plus were super helpful though, friendly and communicative. Unfortunately the van didn't pass first time because the drive cycle computer needed a reset, but they gave me good instructions on how to do that, and it passed fine on the retest. I would ding them half a star for transmitting the results to DMV using the temporary operating permit rather than the license plate number, if I were feeling petty. read more

Don't come here if you don't want your car to smell like cigarettes. I've come here for years with no problems, but I left today after a simple smog inspection with my car reeking of cigarettes. I called the shop, asking for some form of compensation, whether that would be a refund on the original smog or covering the cost of getting my car detailed to get the smell out. The manager was disrespectful, unhelpful, made excuses, and even laughed at one of my questions. He talked in circles, telling me I could check the cameras for proof. I told him that was not proof because he cannot confirm whether that employee smokes at home on his way to work or if people within his household smoke. This was also around 9 in the morning roughly around the time of shop opening, so he most definitely could've smoked on his way to work. Either way, my car went in not smelling like cigarettes, then left smelling like cigarettes. He was very defensive and combative, so I ultimately filed a complaint with BAR for interior property contamination/damage. All of this could've been solved with a simple acknowledgment and $48 refund. Take your business elsewhere... John's Automotive on Bascom is much better, I should've gone there to begin with. read more
