My husband and I ate one lunch here. The host/server promptly seated us, took our order, and brought our foods, drinks, and bill. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Soft Shell Crab Bun - 4 stars - Two steamed buns were filled with fried whole soft-shell crab. The sauces tasted spicy. Tempura Vegetables - 4.5 stars - Onions, broccoli, asparagus, taro, red pepper, and eggplant were battered and fried well. Taiyaki with Ice Cream - 4 stars - The taiyaki was oilier that taiyaki that I have had in Japan, but it tasted good. The receipt said "Matcha" for the ice cream, and that is what I ordered, but the server brought vanilla ice cream instead. Chicken Yakitori - 5 stars - The chunks of chicken were juicy and delicious. This place is so cute. The food was delicious and the staff were super nice. I got the spicy miso ramen, and ordered some takoyaki as well. The ramen was good, and the chasu pork was super tender and hit the spot. The takoyaki was yummy and dressed beautifully, but I found the octopus chunks to be a little big and chewy. Other than that no complaints. The Gyoza was delicious as well and had a nice touch of heat to it. And the sparkling Yuzu was the perfect way to end the meal. I really loved the atmosphere here and definitely want to come back to try some of the cocktails and teas. Im super glad Fujiya came to Robinson because we desperately needed a place like this. We came for lunch right as they opened on a Friday. I was surprised to see how many non-ramen options they had. From curry to katsu, to fried rice, everyone in the group got something they liked. I really enjoyed my tonkotsu ramen. It was so good I really can't see myself getting anything other than ramen here. The broth was rich, the meat was tender, the soft boiled egg was just right, and the noodles had the perfect texture. What else can one ask for in ramen? A unique dining experience in an area that does not offer a lot of them. From the food to the presentation and from the decorations to the theming, you do not feel as if you are in a restaurant in Robinson. The food was incredibly good. My wife ordered the Spicy Yuzu Ramen and ate the entire bowl. The portions were generous and the presentation was nice. My daughter ate her entire bowl of Udon noodles. I got the pork belly and chicken Yakitori and they were delicious, grilled exactly as I expected. We also tried the sea salt Edamame, and it was very tasty as well with the right amount of salt. Service is where this location takes a slight step back, at least for now. Despite ordering for just three people, our food took an hour because there was a disconnect between our waiter and the kitchen that caused our table number to get mixed up. Due to the delay, we did get the Edamame free of charge, and they also took my Yakitori off the bill as well. Additionally, our waiter got creative to bill my daughter's Udon noodles, as standalone noodles are not on the menu. I think the prices here are very reasonable in 2026. Nothing is overly expensive and there is enough variety at different price points that you can either spend a lot or spend a little and still get something. This is an intimate and ornate space with a full bar and good food! We started with the gyoza, edamame, shrimp tempura, and cucumber salad. The gyoza were fantastic and super flavorful! Edamame was cooked perfectly. I thought the cucumber salad needed an acid or sweetness, it was very one note. The shrimp tempura were good, but the menu indicated 4 pieces and we only got 2... The sauce for the tempura and gyoza could've also used a sweetness or acid as well. I got the spicy miso ramen, the noodles were perfectly cooked, but I felt the soup itself could've been hotter. A friend and I checked out the new Robinson location for Fujiya Ramen an absolutely loved that they brought the restaurants shady side vibes to Robinson. Tiffany, the owner came out and greeted us and told us some background about the Ramen and how it's a 15 hour process. Everything from the drinks to the food were spot on. We started with the softshell crab bun and the pork and chive gyoza. For entrées, we both got a Ramen my friend got me some Ramen and I got the spicy miso Ramen. I absolutely love the spicy miso Ramen. I don't think it was too overwhelming. It was the perfect amount of spice for dessert. We got the taiyaki with matcha ice cream and mango mochi. Excellent experience at a very convenient location - we have loved their Shadyside location for years. We were out & about last weekend, making a stop at Rockler to pick up some items, and one of the kids said they wanted Fujiya ramen - I was looking up the best way into Shadyside when I happened to see this location on the map! I am happy to report that everything we loved about their other location is here! The staff were excellent - super polite and attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. The ambiance was great - they made the decor fit the food and we were very comfortable here. Overall, a wonderful lunch (chicken and tonkotsu ramens, gyoza, and a famine to wash it all down. Love this place. The Shadyside shop was our go-to ramen spot during the pandemic. They have figured out how to serve hot ramen to go. This is their new location in North Fayette, much closer to my home and work. We love the tonkotsu (pronounced tōn-kōtsu, with two long o's) ramen. The broth is rich and silky. The noodles are bouncy as they should be. We always get the yakitori. They use specialized Japanese charcoal to cook these skewers. They are brushed with a light soy glaze. They are perfection. Our favorite are the chicken and green onion; but don't skip the chicken skin. Fujiya was already one of the top, if not the best, ramen spot in Pittsburgh. Now you can get it without having to fight traffic into the city. This place is awesome! Visit them soon. Once word gets out, they will be packed. If you're looking for authentic Japanese cuisine this isn't it. It's a version of it, but not that great. The rice is loose and the ramen is not superb. The chicken katsu is very crispy but the accompanying sauce is lacking. The best part is the sake selection. Staff was cordial but too busy socializing to focus. read more
