Fujiya is my go to spot in Camarillo for reasonably priced Japanese food. I usually only order off the regular menu so can't say much about the AYCE since I'm not a big eater and I prefer more variety over quantity. Although I do enjoy sushi and sashimi, I find that my favorites from Fujiya are mostly the cooked food, such as the green mussels, salmon Kama, yellowtail Kama, and the agedashi tofu. There is just so much flavor in these dishes that it really overshadows the raw items such. One exception would be the poki salad, there's something about the sauce/dressing that I really like and once I started eating it I didn't stop until it was all gone. Their sashimi salad is also very yummy and you get quite a bit for the price. Service is always great, from the lady that is always there, to the younger servers, I've never had any issues and always felt welcomed.

COCKROACHES ! July 16th, they had their permit suspended due to ongoing violations. Stated on their inspection "Observed at least 5 live cockroaches, 3 fresh egg sacks, and more than 40 dead cockroaches in the kitchen area" if you love cockroaches sushi go here or else stay away !! This has been an ongoing problem , get these people shut down and stop going

Since it's the only all you can eat sushi spot in the area, I continue to return when I'm with some friends and we're craving a large amount of sushi. However, if you're looking for anything but to stuff yourself full of sushi, I would not recommend. The sushi is very mediocre and not very good if you're looking for some tasty non-AYCE sushi. The service is friendly, but the inside ambiance feels very dated.

Good quality with everything I had. I do see the issue with too much rice on the sishi and hand rolls. I understand what they mean by the sushi rice being a little dry.... But hands down worth the price offered, and I feel like you receive far more than what you pay for. This isint the place for Los Angeles connisuers looking to judge every cut, this is a great place for solid fresh fish at a great AYCE price. Staff was very nice amd attentive

Camarillo classic, always a solid hitter, good vibes, old school vibes and they offer the all you can eat but this time we did not do that, The garlic bomb was bomb.com Only thing is they switched out their siracha bottle sauce for packets that did not taste the same Service was a little forgetful but very nice

We had an extremely disappointing experience at this AYCE restaurant. We go to get sushi fairly often and was in town to grab a quick dinner. Only made it through one round of AYCE. Sushi of fish to rice ratio was terrible. There was so much rice with small amount of fish. The rice was extremely dry. When confronting the waitress and owner about it, she was upset with us. Her reaction was not a pleasant and tried to put it on us that this is how the proportions are everywhere. We tried to communicate with her and showed her what the sushi looked like, however, she didn't want to reason, gave us an attitude, and insisted in us ordering a 2nd round. Very upsetting experience. Would not recommend going to this restaurant. They don't care about their customers here. If we can put a 0 Star don't recommend, we would.

We've been coming to Fujiya for all you can eat sushi for years. They have a great diverse menu and we love the quality of the fish. Great place to come for special occasions, with friends, etc. The service has always been great and personable, though there can be a small wait on holidays (we went on Valentine's Day one year but expected the wait). The price of all you can eat has steadily risen, now it's around $36 per person, but still the only one in Camarillo. We end up spending around $90 for two people all you can eat plus drinks and tip. The location is small and cute, you can see the sushi makers behind the bar. The bathroom could use an update.

We went here last night. It was pretty good. We didn't do the all you can eat. The main roll I got was okay. Not great but not awful. Their sea urchin was pretty good but maybe a bit too much rice for my taste. All in all pretty good.

We went with 4 regulars who love this place. We were a party of 7 and our server was super helpful when it came to splitting the check. Everyone in the group did all you can eat so it was simple for them to break it down. The pros: would I go back? Absolutely, and that's probably the most important part. The fish was fresh and all you can eat pricing is an insane deal if you go when you're hungry. The servers were friendly, the music was good and not too loud. Everyone loved their food. I really appreciate the ordering sheet lets you order in rounds. The cons: the bathroom was rough. The servers disappeared for long stretches of time. We ran out of water and soda multiple times. To be fair the place was busy and it was a Saturday evening, but it felt like they needed more staff.

The Y2K roll is simply a CA roll topped with salmon, eel sauce, and spicy mayo, which might seem super simple, but the quality of the fish, paired with the two sauces, makes an absolutely amazing flavor bomb. All of the workers here are extremely welcoming. Our server, Toshi, was very attentive, refilling all of our drinks with no hesitation or wait. Masa-san is also the hardest-working chef out there; huge props to him. The chefs here treat their to-go orders just as importantly as they do their dine-in orders. From Oxnard to Camarillo to Thousand Oaks, if you're a sushi lover, you have to give this restaurant a shot. You will not be disappointed!

A Disappointing Experience at Masa Sushi -- Especially for Guests With Food Allergies…read more We have visited Masa Sushi frequently because, when our orders are prepared correctly, the food is genuinely delicious. Unfortunately, the service has become consistently disappointing, and after our most recent experience, I feel compelled to share a serious concern--particularly for anyone dining with food allergies. I have a serious gluten and dairy allergy, and every time I visit, I make a point of clearly communicating my allergies when ordering. Unfortunately, the server consistently seems unable or unwilling to acknowledge these concerns. He often simply stares at me without responding, and there appears to be a significant language barrier that makes communicating important dietary restrictions extremely difficult. His body language can also come across as visibly frustrated or irritated when I ask questions about my food. During my most recent visit, I ordered a Chirashi bowl and specifically requested no Kani (imitation crab) because Kani can contain wheat and therefore poses a serious risk for someone with a gluten allergy. I made this request specifically because previous Chirashi bowls at this restaurant have arrived with Kani despite my request to have it removed. When I explained that I could not have the Kani, the server told me, "There is none in it." I was confused because my previous Chirashi bowls had contained it. Unfortunately, when my food arrived, the Kani was there again. I immediately called the server over, pointed directly to the Kani, and told him, "I can't eat this." He took the plate back to the sushi bar. Instead of preparing a new dish or addressing the potential cross-contact issue, the Kani was simply removed from the existing dish, and the same plate was returned to me. I asked, "You didn't replace it with anything?" The server did not answer and quickly walked away. This was particularly concerning because when someone has a serious food allergy, simply removing the offending ingredient from a completed dish is not necessarily an adequate solution. The Kani had already been in contact with the other food on the plate. At a minimum, I would have expected the restaurant to take the allergy seriously, communicate with me about how the dish was being remade, and provide a safe replacement rather than simply picking the ingredient off and returning the same food. The service in general is also extremely slow and consistently feels disconnected. This doesn't seem to depend on how busy the restaurant is; even when there are only a few tables, the service often feels flustered, inattentive, and at times rude. It's unfortunate because the food itself really is good. We've returned many times because we genuinely enjoy it when everything is prepared correctly. However, delicious food isn't enough to justify repeatedly dealing with this level of service--especially when a customer's serious food allergy is involved. For anyone with a significant food allergy, I would strongly recommend exercising caution and making sure the restaurant can clearly understand and safely accommodate your dietary restrictions before ordering. In my case, after this experience, I no longer feel comfortable dining at Masa Sushi despite genuinely enjoying the food. Great food, but the service and handling of serious allergy concerns need significant improvement.

I will preface this by saying I lived in Osaka and know what real sushi is. I generally feel like the quality in California has gone downhill. That being said, I had been to sumo a few times before and it was always good but not great. Went on a Monday night, which I was appreciative that a sushi spot was even open on a Monday. However, I quickly regretted that decision. First off, the California roll came with way too much crab and zero cucumber. When a dish is pretty much always made a certain way everywhere. If you're not going to make it that way, you should probably indicate that on your menu. It's like ordering a burger off a menu and then having it show up with no bun. I asked about the cucumber and I was told that they don't put cucumber in their California roll, but "we put it on the side" so then she brought me cucumber, but it was not the cucumber you would normally put in a roll, it was pickled salad (?!!). Then came my coral Spider roll... First, it was not the coral spider roll. I think it may have been the regular spider roll, but still not as described on the menu if it were. It came with sweet crab salad, avocado, very tiny amount of tempura softshell crab,, and then what didn't really seem to be spicy tuna but hard to tell since it was smothered in two different sauces one of which being very sweet unagi sauce. When I flagged the waitress over to explain this is absolutely not what I ordered. She swore up and down that's how they normally make it. I showed her on the menu that that is absolutely not the roll. She told me that is how they always make it and then asked if I just wanted it taken off the bill. I explained that I would really like the roll that I ordered, which was supposed to be just softshell crab, avocado, cucumber with spicy tuna on top. I'm not sure what the point of having a menu is where you list a bunch of ingredients if you were going to leave out a whole bunch of information and serve something not as described. I waited no joke 35 minutes on a Monday when it wasn't very busy and had my child with me. It was late and had been a very long day for both of us and decided to just leave because there was no waitstaff in sight and it had been so long. I finally got up and went to the front desk to just pay and leave, and then the waitress finally brought the roll. She looked confused when she didn't see us there and I waived her over to tell her I would take it to go if she could package it. After getting it home, I found it was pretty much unpalatable. First of all, again NO. CUCUMBER! 2nd, the spicy tuna on top wasn't really spicy and didn't really seem like tuna. All around the whole thing lacked flavor and texture. It was just mushy and flavorless. I thought they were just having an off night but given that they insisted that this is how they normally make their rolls, I'm all set.

When I hear the word Ramen, I think of the cheap stuff I used to eat in college. But today I went to Hoshi Ramen in Newbury Park after friends raved about it. The place is definitely small and they can probably sit about 20 people, but with food is good they're going to need to expand their tables. I started off with the steamed pork buns. The texture of the bun was excellent, and the pork belly was perfect with the amount of green onions and lettuce, along with a spicy mayo that had a little kick at the end! I probably should've stopped there because those things were filling, but no. I had to order the Shrimp Tempura Udon! When I saw the bowl, I said, "this is going to be a lot, and I'm probably not gonna finish it!" the tempura was cooked perfectly, and although many restaurants overcook shrimp, which makes it taste like rubber, these people nailed it. Great tempura and the shrimp was soft and tender. The Udon noodles were cooked perfectly with great texture and the broth was not seen and runny, but was hardy and filling. It was a perfect blend of flavors and I wish I had a bigger appetite, although my mom always told me that my eyes were bigger than my stomach!" Although I didn't finish the entire Udon bowl, I am definitely glad that I followed my friends recommendations because the food here is tremendous and I'm sure their clientele is going to grow. My only critique would be that the black iced tea was $6.00 and they really kind staff gave me a to go cup so I could try to digest this incredible meal on my way home. If you haven't tried a real Ramen place before, this isn't the crap you buy in the store. This is 100% Great Ramen. You won't be disappointed.
