Watch out for the cashier when you check out!!! She hit the 20% tip button. But I didn't realize till she turned the card machine around for me to put my card in. The total was a big $16. I thought to myself why am I paying $16? Is it a fee because I used my card? That's what I was thinking. But then I remembered that the 20% tip was highlighted. I didn't really think anything about it because I didn't hit the 20% tip. So I hit the back button & sure enough she had hit 20% for a tip. I left the tip on the table. So watch out!!! read more

Highly recommend dining here for delicious food at a low price. They bring you soup as soon as you sit down. The reason for a star deduction is they brought our entrees right after receiving the salad and egg roll appetizer. I would have preferred time to eat the salad ($2) and egg rolls ($2 for 2)before receiving my entree. I replaced my rice with extra veggies to my chicken hibachi($8) for $1 and then a side of fried rice for $2.50. Such a deal! I should have not ordered the rice and just ate from my friend's rice because it's a large portion. The food is fresh and they use high quality ingredients. They leave a bottle of white yum yum sauce at your table! It's so good. Plenty of parking in the attached lot. We saw many people getting take out. I ordered to Hibachi steak and got a heaping plate full of food for an amazing price. The meat was not the most flavorful, but what a great plate for the money. Overall, the food was very good. Service was amazingly fast. Got free onion soup, which was quite good. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to for decent food that is not fast food. This place is great for a cheap, affordable, and delicious meal. I am really surprised by the negative or 1 star reviews. For the price being less than $10 per person you get a huge amount of authentic hibachi for an amazing price. At a regular Japanese steakhouse it would be at least $25+ a person for the same amount of food. They serve a great soup with every meal and the egg rolls are cheap and delicious. The shrimp sauce is what makes the meal! Every time I'm in town, I visit Fuji Yama. It's not a fancy Japanese steakhouse- if you come here expecting that, you'll be disappointed. But it's a fantastic, super-fast place to get inexpensive, I'm sure not-healthy, delicious food. We always get the same thing - hibachi steak, rare - although sometimes with some extra vegetable sides. It comes with rice, meat, carrots, and mushrooms. It's so good! You have to eat it all together with the shrimp sauce. I've tried replicating that shrimp sauce many times, and have never been able to get it right. Fuji Yama is a sit in restaurant that seems to cater more to carry out customers, which in a town like Brevard seems to fit well for those who want to bring food with them while heading to one of the many great local parks. Portion sizes are huge and family style dining is very easy in this laid back environment, though the interior is somewhat dated the food is still amazing. I'll be back again. read more

I've haven't eaten here since 2010 and I can honestly say it's still amazing. It's affordable and it's only teriyaki. It's not greasy. It's not extremely salty or unseasoned. The food is always consistent. They give out a free onion soup with mushrooms with each entree. And the sweet tea is made fresh everyday. Omg and their signature sauce is amazing! I always get two. I love Fuji Yama because they give you so much food. We usually do take out and they have it ready in five minutes. They get a bad rap from some of the locals but it is always very clean and I honestly think it's got something to do with the fact that they are Asian and don't speak great English. Plenty of racist rednecks here in Brevard. My only complaint is that their credit card machine takes for friggin' ever to print the your receipt. Always remember to ask for soup when you order takeout. They give it to you automatically when you dine in but don't unless you ask when you come in for takeout. read more

The food may not be authentic, but it's sure delicious and plentiful. It's very plentiful. For about $7, they gave me like two pounds of take out, one 12 ounce cup of soup and an ice tea. Dang. I wanted to eat it all, but I didn't have the room in the gas tank. The chicken teriyaki I ordered came with carrots, broccoli and rice. I ordered it and had it in my hand less than five minutes later. The soup (actually more like broth) was good. It was chicken based, and the green onions and mushrooms floating on the surface were a nice touch, adding texture. The carrots are most like cooked carrots, sweetened and not at all crispy. The broccoli still had a bit of crunch left in it, and it was flavored with teriyaki. The bed of rice was perfectly cooked. The chicken was cut into tender medallions, flavored with the teriyaki sauce. The sauce wasn't too overpowering. I reiterate--it's probably not authentic food. The dining room is Spartan. They don't have WiFi. But who cares? Here's a tip for purists: if you want authentic Japanese, go to Japan. If you want a good deal, come here. Again, if you want real Japanese food, buy a plane ticket, swim the Pacific, or travel to a larger city. For freaking Brevard, and for the quantity that you get, enjoy this place for the $7 price tag. I give it five stars--you get a large portion of tasty food (which is much more nutritious than frozen or fastfood) quickly delivered at a low price. read more

Their plates of food here are very generous! Plus you get a free little bowl of steamy onion soup right when you take your seat. The hibachi, teriyaki, etc. are fine on their own, but it's really the shrimp sauce that makes it tasty. The fried meat rolls here were very unexpectedly delicious. Super yummy taste and the rolls are golden but not greasy. Even better with the sweet-and-sour sauce it comes with. Service could probably do better with customer interaction, in terms of checking to see if everything's all good, but they can be very nice still. The con's about this place is that it doesn't look or feel the cleanest. Also, the chefs and waitresses are very loud when they're talking to each other in the open kitchen, which can get a little uncomfortable. And lastly, the food, although it can taste good, doesn't seem to have terribly good quality. It just has the look of not real food. All in all its a pretty decent place. The woman in the dining room immediately demanded to know how many people we had and when we kindly requested a large booth she rudely informed us they were mopping the floor. We felt like we were a nuisance and not welcome at all. The non-US-nationals are usually exceptionally welcoming but the one US-national woman was the one that was very rude and unwelcoming.
