The food here is fantastic it came out here hot very quickly steak was tender , flavorful and it was plenty of it. Vegetables were also cooked very well and added to the meal. Service was excellent as I got seated I was asked what I wanted to drink and it was brought right out and when I was ready to order a server was right there to take it. The cost was great very very reasonably priced and this will be a place that I will go back to over and over again. read more

Hard to complain about a place where dinner for two is $26 and you go home with leftovers. Menu is simple (meat + rice + veggies) but tasty.

The food is very outstanding. The service is always good. The food is always steaming hot. I lived in brevard for twenty five plus years. We just recently moved back to the astro area and we traveled to boulevard at least three times a month to go.Eat fuji almas from asheville.I would highly recommend this restaurant. It's been there as long as I can remember since the nineties. Great owners and the friendliness, there is just phenomenal. read more

Massive portions! Mouth enjoyed every bite even after stomach was ready to burst. Atmosphere is a dining hall style not a quirky nooks and crannies booth type establishment. Did not deter one iota from the very excellent meals served. read more

Watch out for the cashier when you check out!!! She hit the 20% tip button. But I didn't realize till she turned the card machine around for me to put my card in. The total was a big $16. I thought to myself why am I paying $16? Is it a fee because I used my card? That's what I was thinking. But then I remembered that the 20% tip was highlighted. I didn't really think anything about it because I didn't hit the 20% tip. So I hit the back button & sure enough she had hit 20% for a tip. I left the tip on the table. So watch out!!! read more

Two stars bc it is not the worst I have had. But the server had ok flip flops and the dirtiest feet ever. Food was less exciting than mall express japanese. Fried rice was so bland. So much sugary sauce on everything. I somt like to judge a book by its cover.....this one you can though. I should have known better. read more

Highly recommend dining here for delicious food at a low price. They bring you soup as soon as you sit down. The reason for a star deduction is they brought our entrees right after receiving the salad and egg roll appetizer. I would have preferred time to eat the salad ($2) and egg rolls ($2 for 2)before receiving my entree. I replaced my rice with extra veggies to my chicken hibachi($8) for $1 and then a side of fried rice for $2.50. Such a deal! I should have not ordered the rice and just ate from my friend's rice because it's a large portion. The food is fresh and they use high quality ingredients. They leave a bottle of white yum yum sauce at your table! It's so good. Plenty of parking in the attached lot. We saw many people getting take out. It's a no thrills ambiance but amazing food and affordable. read more

Server came over promptly and greeted us with bowls of Japanese style onion soup! Very good with an unexpected hint of sweetness. Hot tea is Lipton served in a big mug lends the restaurant to an almost home-y feel. read more

Casual hibachi, great portions and good food for the cheap prices. About the best i could ask for coming off a backpacking trip.

Worst experience ever at a restaurant. Food is mediocre at best and the staff were incompetent and incredibly rude. And furthermore they overcharged our credit card and refused to refund it. I filed a police report because this is THEFT! read more

Great little while in the wall restaurant! I have driven by several times amd never thought to stop and try It. Today my son invited to eat there and I was great! We were seated right away and the service was great. Food was amazing! I got shrimp and noodles, my husband and son got hibachi chicken! However,My favorite was the sweet carrots!! I don't I'll definitely be returning! Plus it didn't cost an arm and leg! We spent maybe 40$ total read more

After reading the Yelp reviews I decided to pop in and try this place. I have to say, I've never seen a better value in a meal. I ordered to Hibachi steak and got a heaping plate full of food for an amazing price. The meat was not the most flavorful, but what a great plate for the money. Overall, the food was very good. Service was amazingly fast. Got free onion soup, which was quite good. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to for decent food that is not fast food. Not much ambiance, but you're not coming here for ambiance. It is just great value. read more

You get what ya pay for. Was it the best food I've had, no. Was it cheap and filled me up after a long day working on the house, you-betcha.

Fuji Yama was a pleasant surprise. The external building is a bit dated, but the people are friendly and the food has certainly been plentiful. read more

The food was excellent along with the service. Purchased additional meals to share with relatives and they really enjoyed the food.

We were looking for a dinner after a day of walking/hiking downtown and in Piegan National Forest. We had noticed this place was pretty crowded the previous 2 evenings and decided to give them a try. The hubby got hibachi steak and chicken while I ordered the hibachi chicken bd shrimp. The onion soup was very tasty. Our food came quickly and we were shocked at how much food there was on our plates. Everything was well seasoned and delicious. Each of our dinners were $12. A great deal for some fresh food! read more

I would not call this hibachi. The atmosphere feels like a mall cafeteria. Meals are pretty inexpensive and big portions but it just wasn't very good. I would not return. read more

This place is great for a cheap, affordable, and delicious meal. I am really surprised by the negative or 1 star reviews. You guys act like you have never been to a local cheap Japanese rearaurant before and act like you are trying to compare it to a Japanese steakhouse. Its like trying to compare Sagebrush to a Ruth Chris's. Some of yal need to come down off your high horse and give this place the credit it deserves. I paid $7 for a teriyaki chicken meal which is just as cheap as eating at McDonalds but the food is fresher and tastier and actually serves real vegetables. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and there are booths as far as the eye can see. No its not some downtown hoity toity hotspot but they don't advertise themselves as such either and by golly it hits the spot. There really isn't really that many restaurant options in Brevard and I enjoyed my meal and just find it crazy that people are willing to snub their nose at this place. Its a perfectly fine place to eat. Did I mention it was cheap? read more

This place is amazing and has awesome food and the amount of food you get for the price is definitely well worth it! They offer take out if your in a hurry or don't have time to eat in and again if you go there you will not be disappointed with the amount and quality of food you get! I can't say how service is cause I did take out but I'll definitely be back for more yummy food in the future!!! read more

Food was ok. Service was not the best. Egg rolls didn't have any flavor. For the most part everything was ok.

Fuji Yama - Shrimp and chicken for lunch! We love this place! - Japanese Near Me - Brevard, North Carolina

The shrimp sauce is what makes the meal! Every time I'm in town, I visit Fuji Yama. It's not a fancy Japanese steakhouse- if you come here expecting that, you'll be disappointed. But it's a fantastic, super-fast place to get inexpensive, I'm sure not-healthy, delicious food. We always get the same thing - hibachi steak, rare - although sometimes with some extra vegetable sides. It comes with rice, meat, carrots, and mushrooms. It's so good! You have to eat it all together with the shrimp sauce. I've tried replicating that shrimp sauce many times, and have never been able to get it right. If you eat there you start with a tasty miso soup. One of my favorite things about Fuji Yama- I swear it tastes even better reheated later or the next day. Give it a try! read more

For the price being less than $10 per person you get a huge amount of authentic hibachi for an amazing price. At a regular Japanese steakhouse it would be at least $25+ a person for the same amount of food. They serve a great soup with every meal and the egg rolls are cheap and delicious. This place is always a must go for me when I'm in the area. read more

HUGE Portions! and great prices. This is definitely one of the best places to eat in Brevard after you spend the day hiking. I ordered the teriyaki steak that comes with rice and veggies. You can pay a few bucks extra and replace the rice with extra veggies if you want. They actually cook the steak how you want it so my rare steak turned out tender and full of flavor. This place is very casual so come as you are for a great meal! read more

Fuji Yama is a sit in restaurant that seems to cater more to carry out customers, which in a town like Brevard seems to fit well for those who want to bring food with them while heading to one of the many great local parks. Portion sizes are huge and family style dining is very easy in this laid back environment, though the interior is somewhat dated the food is still amazing. I'll be back again. read more

Great food and generous portion sizes. We got the (hibachi) shrimp & chicken plate, and the (hibachi) steak plate.

Great place to sit down and eat. Waitress was nice and friendly. Restaurant is not loud. Owners remind me of where I grew up at in Asia. Orders are enough for two people. I had them make me a combination of three (not on menu) and happily did so. Pics are below. Enjoy! read more

No complaints about the food only thing is how the inside looked. Sanitation rating is 93 and I could honestly see it as 85. If all the workers that were in the kitchen would wipe something down it would be as clean as a baby a**. Long way to go. read more

I love Fuji Yama because they give you so much food. We usually do take out and they have it ready in five minutes. They get a bad rap from some of the locals but it is always very clean and I honestly think it's got something to do with the fact that they are Asian and don't speak great English. Plenty of racist rednecks here in Brevard. My only complaint is that their credit card machine takes for friggin' ever to print the your receipt. Always remember to ask for soup when you order takeout. They give it to you automatically when you dine in but don't unless you ask when you come in for takeout. read more

I've haven't eaten here since 2010 and I can honestly say it's still amazing. It's affordable and it's only teriyaki. It's not greasy. It's not extremely salty or unseasoned. The food is always consistent. They give out a free onion soup with mushrooms with each entree. And the sweet tea is made fresh everyday. Omg and their signature sauce is amazing! I always get two. The chef/owner is a very kind gentlemen. His English is alright but you can tell he's very friendly! read more

We were ignored for 45 minutes no drinks no menues no nothing. They would look at us and just keep walking. They did it on purpose and made sure we knew they were doing it. We will remember this. read more

The food may not be authentic, but it's sure delicious and plentiful. It's very plentiful. For about $7, they gave me like two pounds of take out, one 12 ounce cup of soup and an ice tea. Dang. I wanted to eat it all, but I didn't have the room in the gas tank. The chicken teriyaki I ordered came with carrots, broccoli and rice. I ordered it and had it in my hand less than five minutes later. The soup (actually more like broth) was good. It was chicken based, and the green onions and mushrooms floating on the surface were a nice touch, adding texture. The carrots are most like cooked carrots, sweetened and not at all crispy. The broccoli still had a bit of crunch left in it, and it was flavored with teriyaki. The bed of rice was perfectly cooked. The chicken was cut into tender medallions, flavored with the teriyaki sauce. The sauce wasn't too overpowering. I reiterate--it's probably not authentic food. The dining room is Spartan. They don't have WiFi. But who cares? Here's a tip for purists: if you want authentic Japanese, go to Japan. If you want a good deal, come here. Again, if you want real Japanese food, buy a plane ticket, swim the Pacific, or travel to a larger city. For freaking Brevard, and for the quantity that you get, enjoy this place for the $7 price tag. I give it five stars--you get a large portion of tasty food (which is much more nutritious than frozen or fastfood) quickly delivered at a low price. read more

The food here is usually great. The service also. I came at 7:30, with a group of 3. We knew we had more people coming but not how many. The woman in the dining room immediately demanded to know how many people we had and when we kindly requested a large booth she rudely informed us they were mopping the floor. We felt like we were a nuisance and not welcome at all. The non-US-nationals are usually exceptionally welcoming but the one US-national woman was the one that was very rude and unwelcoming. Maybe don't come after early supper time because obviously you'd be in the way of them mopping the floor. -a disappointed and insulted customer. read more
