Highly recommend dining here for delicious food at a low price. They bring you soup as soon as you sit down. The reason for a star deduction is they brought our entrees right after receiving the salad and egg roll appetizer. I would have preferred time to eat the salad ($2) and egg rolls ($2 for 2)before receiving my entree. I replaced my rice with extra veggies to my chicken hibachi($8) for $1 and then a side of fried rice for $2.50. Such a deal! I should have not ordered the rice and just ate from my friend's rice because it's a large portion. The food is fresh and they use high quality ingredients. They leave a bottle of white yum yum sauce at your table! It's so good. Plenty of parking in the attached lot. We saw many people getting take out. It's a no thrills ambiance but amazing food and affordable.

Hot tea with empty soup bowl. Yum

Server came over promptly and greeted us with bowls of Japanese style onion soup! Very good with an unexpected hint of sweetness. Hot tea is Lipton served in a big mug lends the restaurant to an almost home-y feel.

    Ew

My carrots, rice, chicken, broccoli, and noodles all taste like rats. How do you fuck up rice? Unfortunately Fuji Yama was my last resort because Brevard closes town on Sunday.

The portions are generous, the servers are nice, and the food is good for the price (which is also super low)

It's Bourbon Thyme is a fantastic cocktail that paired really well with every item we ate too. We started with the wedge salad, which had. A lovely ginger dressing. The Tuna Tataki is a must, really nice rolled slices or raw tuna with the peppers and the ponzu sauce, truly amazing. The shishito peppers were wonderful and nicely charred with a great dipping sauce. The seabass may have been the tastiest item, the butter sauce and roasted lemon sauce was exceptional. We finished up with the carrots and bbq ribs, which were crispy on the outside but tender as you bit into the rib meat. Service was stellar as expected for any Michelin rated restaurant. I'm def coming back here soon, the bar looks nice and they have nice Ramen bowls and other items I want to try.

The sliced Hanachi in in ponzu with Serrano peppers was creamy, fresh, with a bit of heat..amazing. Almost everything we had was over the top delicious except for the Pork Belly stick. It was dry and overcooked. The cocktail menu is equally unique and my gin 'So Fresh So Green' was divine..gin, green pea ginger, lemon and scallion tincture. Fresh, bright, and earthy all in one. Perfection!!!

The shumai and dumplings are alright, too. Be sure to get additions for the ramen, cause those eggs are so good, so's the rest. My only gripe is the chicken katsu doesn't come with rice or sauce, but I don't really think it needs it, I just personally like the rice to get a little saucy. It's fine, really.

A half dozen takeout bags were lined up for pickup, yet despite the rush our order was taken promptly and dinner arrived just as quickly. The Chashu Don came as a generous bowl of warm rice topped with chopped pork in a sweet sauce. A touch on the sweet side, but flavorful and plentiful. Mrs. K. chose the vegetable ramen, which we both enjoyed. The broth was rich and satisfying, paired with gluten-free noodles and plenty of toppings. The house tofu was a bit unusual, but overall the dish was excellent. Service understandably lagged in the busy atmosphere. No one checked back at our table, our drinks went unrefilled, and I had to flag someone down for the check. Small lapses, but they slightly dulled the shine of what was otherwise a wonderful meal. Waiter was spot on - tended to us quickly to get our drinks. He came and took our order and food came out fairly quickly. The vegetable tempura was great - not greasy and this one had broccoli and eggplant (I dont like eggplants but I am sure someone will.appreciate this). Fried rice - even though it was kids, it was fantastic. It was not oil soaked and the flavor was so clean. Even my picky husband said it taste so good! Rice was not mushy.. it was, excellent! The Chow Hor Fun? I wont lie... I disnt have high hopes as a restaurant in the Carolinas. Boy was I wrong! The noodles were al dente, beautiful mix of all the veggies and protein. Sauce was a little sweet for my taste, so I was able to request for some chilli sauce and was all good. Also, not greasy. I was happy. My husband got the tuna sushi nigiri, tuna roll, salmon nigiri and white tuna. It was really good! Everything was bright and did not smell fishy. Last note - portions are freakin HUGE! Like i ate a third and took the rest' and the container was full. My daighters "kids" fried rice was packed to the brim. Expect left overs, u less your a competitive eater. The price, value and quality, this was def a 5 star - our first and only in our vacation here. Highly recommend - speaking as a Chinese vacationing in the carolinas that was getting desperate for any semblance of chinese food

While I do wish to acknowledge that Watami Sushi And Noodles does have the absolute legal right to deny anyone service; the staff of Watami Sushi And Noodles does not have the legal right to discriminate against anyone and violate anyone's Civil Rights on the basis of race, religion, and/or creed. Around 1:15 p.m. on  Wednesday, May 13, 2026, I entered Watami Sushi And Noodles on 33 South Main Street, Waynesville, North Carolina with the only goal of having lunch. When the hostess saw me, she had a look of absolute shock terror on her face and instead of greeting me with a "Hello" or "Welcome," she immediately tried to get me to just get take out only.  Only after repeatedly stating several times that I didn't want to order take out and that I wanted to dine there, she waved to a host/server who took one look at me and loudly said "OH" before seating me at a small table in the middle of the establishment.  Please note, there were other diners there. None of the staff was friendly or welcoming and rebuffed my attempts at conversation.  The waitress had an angry expression and tone with me, but not with other patrons in the restaurant. I ordered Chicken Teriyaki with a Green Salad and a side of Miso Soup.  Both the Miso Soup and Chicken Teriyaki were lukewarm, boarding on cold.  The Green Salad was crisp and fresh.  I didn't get a chance to finish to soup or the salad because it was taken away post haste once my lunch order had arrived. Now why did the staff of Watami Sushi And Noodles act they way they did when I entered their establishment. Well, this is just my opinion, based on their actions:  they didn't welcome or want an observant Jew who was wearing a yamicha, along with business casual clothes, in their establishment. ZERO STARS.

My boyfriend ordered the miso ramen and said the broth lacked flavor, the pork was way too chewy, and even the corn wasn't good. I got the Ito Ramen Deluxe, but it was overly smoky, the noodles were rubbery, and the pork was also too chewy. I couldn't even finish it. The only thing I actually enjoyed was the seasoned egg. The gyoza was decent, but it honestly tasted like it might be store-bought. The service didn't help either. Our server, Abby, wasn't very pleasant, and the drink options were extremely limited. Overall, I left feeling very disappointed. For the price, I could make better ramen at home for way cheaper.

But the ramen tasted a bit weaker than last time. I thought the broth tasted much milder...not spicy enough. Luckily, I asked for Chili Oil on the side...and that definitely helped. My husband felt the same...Good, but not as good as last time. Also, the service much weaker. Our waitress was very aloof, and just did not look our way, not check on us...except just once? We had to literally flag her down. For these reasons, I've got to drop some stars this time.
