Parking is a bit of a tricky situation, but if you park over at Barnes and Noble or JC Penny, you can walk over pretty easily. I came with my youngest, and he's a dumpling FIEND. Been known to destroy at least four plates of dumplings in a sitting, so it's totally worth the AYCE approach. I usually don't get my money's worth in these types of spots because they often won't let you take any additional leftovers home. So I've become pretty careful about my orders. What this place had going for it -- the portions were MUCH larger than I expected from my prior experiences at AYCE places. The sushi roll I expected maybe 4-6 smallish pieces, and I got 8 pretty large pieces. The nigiri was okay - not the best quality fish, but it was edible and fresh. The round of appetizers we got was hit or miss -- the tempura was DELICIOUS. The wontons were eh. And the dumplings were okay -- my only beef with that was...the beef! There are no pork dumplings on the menu, which is weird since gyoza is traditionally pork based. The beef ones were okay though - both steamed and fried (we tried both). In all, we got out of there with about a $50 tab for one adult and one kid -- and the waitress was kind enough to let us take some of the food home since I was surprised by the sizes of the servings. Overall, I'd put this at a solid 3 1/2 stars.

For starters we like the sushi appetizer (fresh and yummy), spring rolls, crab rangoons, and gyoza! All hit the spot - flavorful and perfect sized. With the size of the rolls, we normally just get two apps to share and one roll each. As someone who doesn't like a ton of raw fish, I get the Saisaki Special Roll. It has lobster salad, shrimp tempura and avacado. I love the eel and spicy mayo dipping sauce that gives it a great sweet and spicy combo. He gets the Sakura roll and loves it - fresh and unique. For drinks, I love the white sangria - sweet and refreshing.

My husband's ordering pepper steak me and my sister are ordering general tso chicken. I also ordered a spicy kani salad and we ordered pork dumplings and hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup was not too bad. I felt like it could've used a little more seasoning, but they give you a generous, proportion . Had the spicy kani salad and I thought that was pretty good. It tasted very fresh and had a good crunch. The pepper steak was seasoned well very nice portion looked really good. Fried rice tasted really good. No complaints on the fried rice. The General tso chicken was excellent very crunchy and a very nice portion. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We were seated right away and given time to look over the menu before the Hibachi Chef arrived. I love how hibachi restaurants sit you with other people because we were seated next to a very nice couple celebrating a birthday. Once we placed our orders, the Chef came to our table and started the grill. Andreas, our Chef, did a great job entertaining us all while preparing our food. He was funny and very personable. I decided on the Steak & Chicken Combo which included Fried Rice and Vegetables. I also was able to enjoy my friend's Shrimp as well. The food was amazing! The steak was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful and the shrimp was tender and fresh. Overall, the food and the service were a 10/10! If I'm ever in the area, I'd definitely return! I highly recommend stopping by if you're craving hibachi, you will not be disappointed!

Located right next to the Hampton Roads Coliseum, it's the perfect spot if you're in the area for an event. I went with two of my girls, and we had such a great time from start to finish. Our chef was so much fun -- exactly what you want from a hibachi experience. He kept us entertained the whole time, and the energy at the table just made the night even better. I ordered the filet with hibachi rice, and everything was cooked perfectly. The steak was tender, flavorful, and the rice was just as good as I remembered (honestly, that hibachi rice always hits ). Portions were generous too -- I ended up taking half my meal home, and it reheated really well the next day, which was a huge plus. Between the fun atmosphere, great service, and really solid food, this is definitely a spot I would go back to -- especially if I'm in the Coliseum area again. Honestly, I just wish I had a place like this closer to home because it was that good.

It's mostly been hibachi dinners, but also mix in Happy Hour visits and last year, a visit for Newport News Restaurant Week. Let's see how this one turned out. When we walked inside, they had a nice crowd for lunch. Again, it was a holiday. We were able to be seated quickly and did take some time looking at the menu. Staff was busy and the waitress did take a minute to come to our table, but it really wasn't a rush on our day off. For my meal, I selected gyoza for appetizers and their stir-fried bento box with beef as the protein with hot spice. Everything that was cooked very well. The gyoza was full of flavor along with enough dipping sauce to help with each taste. The bento box was really good. There was enough protein and veggies included and the hot spice wasn't that spicy on the palate at all. A nice lunch that kept us full. Hayashi did deliver for the day. You know we'll be back :)

Our waiters came out and took our orders and the chefs arrived. I sat on the outside, so each chef had to push their cart right up against the back of my chair with all the raw ingredients as they came in and out. The chef was nice enough and the food was very good. The steak was tender and the shrimp were very tasty. One very big turn off was cleaning the grill afterwards as we are eating. The chef poured the water on the grill and steam was just bathing our guests as they ate. The smell wasn't pleasant and it was just not good. I understand the need to clean it while hot but it wasn't a good memory. Between the two tables (16 people) we were there about an hour and a half, easily spending $1000. You could tell they wanted us out and began to put plates down on the grill and come back to the table every 30 seconds to awkwardly collect a spoon. It was dumb. Anyway, food was good, very expensive but not anything we need to do again soon.
