    Chicken basil lunch
    Caroline J.

Ugh, this place went downhill from my last visit. I don't know he if it was the dishes we ordered or what, but this was the first time I ever went home and threw out the food. My husband got the beef drunken noodles, and I got the chicken drunken noodles and the sauce was horrible. Drunken noodles is one of my favorites and have had it about of places and this was not it. Don't think I will be back with so many other good Thai places.

Tom Yum soup with chicken Thai hot

Ordered takeout and it did not disappoint. Huge fan of Thai food and the spicier the better. There is an option of spice level from low to Thai spice. The weekend does not offer lunch specials, but don't worry the dinner portions are very much worth it for leftovers. The entrees can be stretched out for a few more meals. I ordered the Tom yum soup, panang curry, and drunken noodles. I voluntarily chose the Thai hot spice level, and well my stomach was dancing happily during consumption, then cried the next day. That is the choice I made lol. The Tom yum had cut up pieces of tomato, mushrooms, green onion, and choice of protein. The broth was tangy, spicy, with hints of sweet and sour and Thai hot spice level. The chicken was thinly sliced and a great addition. No regrets there. I would order it again as this was a bowl size. The panang curry was coconut milk based filled with string beans, red julienne peppers, Thai basil, lime leaves, and protein choice of chicken. This came with a small side of rice. The string beans were fresh, and had a good snap with the first bite. Lastly was the drunken noodles. This came with flat noodles, green beans, carrots, broccoli, onions, basil, green and red sliced julienne peppers with chicken. I did wish the noodles were a bit Al dente as the texture felt slightly mushy. Everything married well together. The owner was very sweet and kind as she took my order. The inside is small and clean. There is about three tables. Will definitely come back!!!! support small businesses

This is located in the location of the old Ya's Thai Kitchen. The service was awesome!! I called in my order. They told me 20-25 minutes, and my food was ready in that time. They now have a punch card so you can get a discount/something free once you compete the card. As for the food, the Tom Kar isn't the same as I've had at other Thai restaurants. It was white in color, and I'm used to it being a creamy yellow due to the melding of the spices and coconut milk. I think this version has just coconut milk. It was okay, but I wouldn't try it again. Perhaps I'll try the Tom Yum - I love me some Thai soup. They also have Thai tea. It was a little cold for that during this visit, but next time. The crab ragoon was good. You get abut 6 pieces. I didn't care for the sauce; it was not the sweet and sour sauce I've had previously. The panang curry wasn't as thick as I'm used to, but the flavors were there. And it was probably spice level 3. I'll try a noodle or stir-fried dish next time. It's a small restaurant, but they do have approximately 7 tables for dine in.

My husband and I have been on the hunt for a good Thai place in Hampton and we've found it. The food tasted so fresh and delicious.

Vibe on a Friday for dinner was on…read morepoint and I loved that the place came alive with customers because that's a solid indication of how good it is, given the tucked away spot. Service was quick and polite, and we loved that there was more than enough options for everyone at our table, including our kiddo. What really stands out, beyond presentation, is the amazing flavor and freshness quality of the food. And of course you'll probably have leftovers! Absolute gem and we will 100% be back!

This Thai house is one of several Tida kitchens in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. On a Tuesday…read moreevening, it was not crowded, and we were one of the only three occupied tables at 6 p.m. We sat at a booth along the front windowed wall. Our table was printed with a scenic painting of a Thai woman paddling a small boat. Nice touch. Surprised that all the servers were non-Asian women, which would have added to the cultural accuracy of the business. Regardless, ours was friendly and efficient and took good care of us. We ordered Tom Kha Soup, Fried Calamari as appetizers, and Drunken Noodles (#3 spice level) with vegetables and Ginger Stir Fry with Shrimp (#2 spice level) as our entrees. The coconut milk based soup which is normally on the sweeter side, also contained lemongrass which sparked a heated response. Different, but not beyond the pale. The Calamari was a mixed bag, with several of the rings tough, rubbery and lacking freshness. The dipping sauce was good. Our mains were both much better. The Drunken was loaded with carrot, green, yellow and red pepper, tomato, celery, spring onion, yellow onion, and sprouts. The sauce was just hot enough to make my nose run and very delicious. The Ginger Stir Fry was loaded with plump shrimp, Thai basil, onion and some other colorful veggies. My sister loved it. Aside from the slip with the squid, this was a satisfying tasty Thai dinner, with good service in a pleasant ambient room. Four Phuket Stars.
