I ordered the lunch special to go, which included two shrimp Topuria rolls and miso soup. The order was ready in about 20 minutes--quick and efficient service. There's plenty of parking available, and I was greeted warmly by the staff as soon as I walked in. The sushi was excellent! I'm usually pretty particular about my sushi, but this really hit the mark. The miso soup was a nice touch, and the prices were surprisingly affordable--especially compared to what I'm used to in Northern Virginia. I got lunch hibachi combo($14) and a Thai tea ($4). The Thai tea was a bit bland and felt watered down. The hibachi was alright, everything could've been seasoned with salt and power instead of being drenched in a sweet teriyaki sauce. The steak was cooked to a good medium. Staff and service were also just ok. Due to the general area, there isn't that many other option to go to, but they do have a big menu of items to choose from Chinese, Japanese , and Thai. As a Carrollton resident, I can say I'm pretty grateful that this restaurant is a close 8 minute drive from me. I wouldn't say it is a particularly authentic Japanese or Thai restaurant, but it's definitely a good Asian fusion place. It's a great mix of Chinese/Japanese and Thai. I find it great on days I want to mix it up or am in the mood for something different. The restaurant is always clean and spacious and the staff friendly. We never have to wait too long for our entrees to come out and I know my picky eater of a son will always eat his meal. It has become one of the places we keep in rotation for family dinners out. read more

I thought this place was really good. The lo mein is fantastic, fried rice is good. I wasn't too fond of the general tso chicken too heavy on the soy sauce on multiple occasions. Sushi is good as well. I just had to go searching for what is inside the sushi sometimes because I don't eat certain things. But maybe if they updated that, it would be a little easier on the customer when making a decision on sushi. read more

Let's face it, this may not be your first choice for sushi in Newport New or Virginia Beach, but it's pretty decent for Smithfield and we have had some genuinely good dishes here. Sometimes restaurants that are "blends" of Japanese and Thai (and a potential mix of Chinese slipped in there, too) don't work well so you might choose your dishes carefully. The sushi chef was good and actually sent out a refreshing appetizer to us "on the house". We ordered the "Out of Bounds" sushi roll plate which was very good (salmon, yellowtail, with an eel and spicy miso sauce) and then added an order of the spicy crunchy yellowtail roll handmade rolls. The seaweed salad was "fine" but not as good as Sushi AKA in Suffolk. Previously I have ordered the Bento lunch special there which is a good deal. Our waitress was super nice and attended us well. Someone told me that they really liked their fried rice dishes. My 2 cents...I'll go back. read more

Not sure why all the hate. Had a perfectly good meal with good service. Nice and quiet ambiance. The waitress needed a bit of work but otherwise it was a good experience. Some of the best sushi in the area! I absolutely love their California Roll and their Bento Boxes here. The bento boxes are perfectly sized and give you a nice taste of everything. My personal favorite bento box is the one with Beef and Broccoli, but you can choose a wide variety of different meats to get in your bento box. Their egg drop soup is to die for!! I ordered a mild vegetable coconut curry and specified that it not be spicy. The lady taking my order said I should get the Green Curry. What I got was raw broccoli floating in a watery green liquid that was too spicy/hot to eat. $11 down the drain. Avoid this place! read more

Tried this about two weeks ago. My man dish Lo Mein was just ok, my appetizer was calamari which was so rubbery I just dumped it. Really was one of the worst I have had. My daughter and her boyfriend had the Pad Thai Their food was too sweet and neither one finished their meals. They had Crab Rangoon for their appetizers and again really bad. I'm pretty picky when it comes to Thai food, and while this isn't the best I have ever had, it's the best I have had in a long time. The staff is very friendly, the food is good, and the atmosphere is enjoyable. The sushi was really good, but the Chicken Pad Thai just lacked ever so slightly. I'll still be ordering it though, because Chicken Pad Thai is my favorite dish. Enjoyed my visit to Tokyo Thai food was good. I love miso soup it was testy nice and hot especially since I had to travel back to my hotel. My husband loves General Tao and. He said this was pretty good compared to the other restaurants in our area. So continue to work on your food and we will give you another chance. I am quite picky when it comes to eating food, especially ethnic food. The first time I came here I opted for the Generals Chicken, which was only chicken and rice. ($10) It was delicious and tasted fresh but the $10 price tag was a bit steep for a cup of food. The next time I visited I decided to be adventerous with my taste buds and opt for the Generals Chicken Bento Box, which was $10 as well, but it came with soup, fruit, chicken, rice, and california rolls. It came out to be a much better deal. The miso soup was very good, brought out before the box. There is less chicken than the first entree I received the visit before but I was still very full. I do not eat seafood what so ever and I still ate the california rolls, which were quite tasty with the sauces provided. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated. Smithfield does not have many 'real' restaurants. The dining experience was nice, the servers speak well and are extremely friendly. I would come back. read more

This place is great. I've tried it many times but some of my favs are the crab Rangoon, thai summer rolls, and the shrimp udon. The shrimp were large, not overcooked and the thick chewy udon noodles were delicious. Summer rolls were full of fresh veggies and came with a peanut dipping sauce. And lastly I'm just a sucker for crab Rangoon and these were great. They offer online ordering for takeout. Their service is fast. Priced right. No negatives. read more

Tried this place a couple of times when I was in the area for work. First time, went the Curry route. It was done fairly well, good flavors, and the protein wasn't over cooked. Second time with a large group - there were comments like "well, the sushi rice i'ld give a c+". They also had troubles with the drinks and service...we had called more than 24 hrs ahead of time to let then know that 15 people would attend, but it didn't seem like they were staffed for it I had a seafood dish in a light sauce. The lobster tail and shrimp were WAY over cooked and rubbery. The scallops were the only seafood that was properly cooked. read more
