This was my first time at Kero Sushi. Went for lunch and they have a decent lunch/bento box menu. I decided to get 3 rolls for $12.95: Shrimp Tempura, Sweet Potato, and Philly Roll. It also came with soup or salad. The flavor was tasty. I wasn't a fan of the Philly roll, but the other 2 were really good! 4 STARS! Enough menu options for me to try them again (except the Philly roll).

This place was packed!! And now I know why. I ordered to go and you can tell the food was fresh, made to order and packaged carefully. I got the volcano roll, shumai and shrimp/veggie tempura appetizer. Everything was so good! The wait for my order was longer than expected given how busy they were, but the food was worth it. I will be back!

We ordered a sushi boat to try different types. The sushi was okay, but I have had better sushi in the area for a lower price. The appetizer, tempura shrimp, was decent. The ambience is good, and we were seated tucked away in the back. The service is like any other establishment, but not great. Overall, from my experience, there is a better sushi place in the area with better service.

First time here and it was very yummy! Service was nice and polite as well as prompt! For food we had the following and all was very good: Volcano roll, soup, salad, vegetable tempura and fried rice. The only thing I would not get again was the steak and shrimp hibachi. The steak and shrimp were a little tasteless and overcooked. Also the yum yum sauce was not that great. My husband also had a sake that was good. Can't wait to go back and try some more sushi!

My new favorite sushi spot. I was impressed by all the rolls we ordered, will definitely be back.

Came in for dinner on a Thursday evening. Seated after a few minutes and we took a while looking over the menu, there was a lot to look at. We finally decided on the fried pork dumplings, a volcano roll, and a dancing tuna roll. The dinner came with a salad or soup and I had the salad and was totally unimpressed. Iceberg lettuce with ginger sauce. Anyway, the pork dumplings were very good and the sauce they were served with was delicious. The volcano roll was crunchy and very tasty. The dancing tuna roll was good except for the tuna. It was very mushy and had the consistency of mush. The rest of the roll was great though. Our waitress was nice and very quick to take our order and let us look at the menu. We will try it again.

6/5!!! Very friendly staff, clean restaurant, delicious food, good prices. What more can you ask for? Everyone takes pride in what they do here and it shows. Thanks for the great lunch!

Keep sushi is delightful and fresh, with very good customer service. The California and shrimp tempura rolls were great and I love that they added eel sauce (I believe) to the top. I enjoyed the flavor way more than I would have guessed.

This is my favorite spot for sushi as of now. The fish is always fresh and they really take care in the way they present it. The sushi boat for two or three is worth it at $49.95 because you're getting a ton of sushi- and it's fresh and good quality fish vs. some of the AYCE places where the quality suffers. The service here is always great, sometimes it can get extremely busy though. The restaurant is decorated nicely, it's been the same for years. If you want some quality fish try Kero!

This is always our favorite place to go for sushi. They are always friendly and super inviting. We love coming here for date nights or with the whole family. Compared to other places their quality is top notch.

My wife, friends, and I decided to meet up for sushi after a baby shower nearby in Yorktown. There were 7 people in our party and we were seated immediately on this Sunday afternoon. The staff quickly got our drinks and orders within the first 15 min. They were helpful with ordering and salad/soup came out soon after our order. I asked for the Spicy King Roll and Miso soup. I was happy with the taste and quality of the sushi as well as the presentation.

Unfortunately, over time the experience has slowly declined. Food quality: The seafood just isn't prepared with the same care it once was. Flavors feel less fresh, and the overall execution has slipped. Service: Staff used to be attentive and welcoming, but now service feels inconsistent and less polished. Presentation: Even the way dishes are plated has gone downhill, which takes away from the enjoyment of the meal. Highlights: Oyster nights are still fun, and I do enjoy trying new varieties when they're available. That tradition keeps me coming back occasionally. Consistency & value: As someone who has lived in Newport News for over 20 years and been a regular here, I look for consistency and good value. Sadly, Harpoon Larry's no longer delivers on those fronts. Overall, while Harpoon Larry's still has its moments, especially on oyster nights, it's hard to recommend it as a regular go-to spot anymore.

Given there are no restaurants in the Peninsula where lobster rolls are made, this one has been a welcome edition to the area. For Newport News Restaurant Week, Sophia and I headed here to check them out. Let's see if the hype was worth it. We drove to the food truck which was not far from where we live. They had a few people who were in line or waited in their cars for orders. Both of us got there and paid for our orders. It took nearly 30 minutes for both to be ready but it went by quick. Everyone was very busy taking orders, prepping food and cooking. Truly a well-oiled machine. After they were done, we both went home and enjoyed a nice meal. For my order, I selected a medium size lobster mac and cheese. Very good stuff. The plate was full of lobster that was well seasoned. I appreciate it when you have protein that's of equal amount as pasta, which was well done and full of enough cream sauce. Sophia had a large Connecticut lobster roll and fries which she enjoyed. The service was exceptional, the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and timed each course perfectly, allowing us to truly enjoy the evening without ever feeling rushed. The atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for a much-needed night out. All seven courses were smaller, tapas-sized portions. While the plates were small, they were perfectly timed, and we were surprisingly full by the end of the meal. Here is a breakdown of our journey, ranked in order of our preference: Grilled Octopus - The absolute highlight. This was the best and most flavorful of all the courses. The stew was seasoned so well it left us talking about it throughout the entire evening. Crab Cake - I enjoyed the flavor of these, though the texture was a little softer than I personally prefer. The presentation was a bit lacking--it looked like the cake was just plopped in the center with the puree splashed on the sides--but overall, it was a good dish. (Starter) - It was good, but honestly, I already forgot exactly what it was. It was okay as a starter, but clearly not as memorable as the octopus. Flourless Chocolate Cake - What's not to like? It was a nice, small piece of decadent cake with ice cream on top. A reliable finish. Smokey Salmon - This arrived with a "show," served under a glass dome engulfed in smoke. While the presentation was very cool, the flavor was unfortunately bland; nothing about the taste really stood out. Wagyu Beef - This was the course I was most looking forward to, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. While the meat was a perfect medium-rare, it was quite bland and desperately needed seasoning. Seared Scallops - The scallops were cooked well, though the rest of the dish didn't quite hit the mark for me. Fin Seafood provided a decent night out for a couple who haven't been out together in a while. The staff made us feel incredibly welcome and ensured we enjoyed our early Mother's Day celebration. However, if we return, I'll likely skip the full tasting menu, save some money, and just order that incredible grilled octopus.
