There are a lot of people saying they didn't like this place and I think it is simply that they expect too much from this type of place, like they think they are in Vegas or they are comparing buffet food against stand alone restaurants, which makes no sense. We called prior to going there and they explained the prices were $7.99 for adults. We arrived and they instructed us to pay upon leaving. Upon leaving we were charged $10.99 per adult and they added the gratuity without informing us. Thank goodness we can add which stopped us from over tipping. I went for lunch and found everything very good. Although it was a little hard to find because of the dumb signage on Channel Island Blvd. Prices were fantastic and the selection of foods were more than plenty. They had several big screen TVs so we could watch the Olympics from our table. Servers were very nice young women who cleared dishes quickly. The quality of the food is between decent and poor. The appearance and ambiance is not welcoming. The service is truly terrible, I decided not to tip our waitress because she didn't pick up our empty plates until before we left and didn't refill our drinks until we asked. I also noticed that they added the gratuity with out informing me, I didn't mind because I knew I was not going back. As soon as I walked in and noticed the giant fake chandelier in the dining area, I knew things were going to be alright. It was run by Asians. That's an international sign for those of you who don't know. If that didn't give it away, the grungy interior and the awkward staring of Asian employees definitely solidified that. It has an awesome variety of stuff with around B- quality, kinda like my high school report cards which ironically were not ok for an Asian. You'll for sure find a few items you really like (String beans, steamed pork buns, fried shrimp incorrectly listed as 'Onion Rings' lol), some things you're like "wtf what is this doing at an Asian buffet" (Jello, cheese pizza, burritos... jk on that last one), and a few unsettling things (A tiny hair on your plate, some dirty silverware, but c'mon you didn't come for the service/cleanliness, get over yourself). I'm still flabbergasted that an Asian place didn't serve steamed rice, but maybe that's on the secret menu? Oh and don't go for the sushi. It wasn't very good, but then again Chinese hands weren't made to wrap rice around stuff. I'd say it was worth the price of admission ($13 including tax for dinner). Overall this buffet can't be beat for the price, Food is good and selection is plenty. You have mongolian style buffet, sushi bar and plenty seafood. The reason I am giving 3 stars is that they do not refill the crab legs and oyster bins unless you ask. I shared with manger that my observation after eating dinner here 5 times that everything is refilled quickly except the crab legs and oysters unless you ask and wait 10-15 minutes for them to refill. Very good seafood, vegetables, Sushi and chicken dishes - there's a cook for stir-fry dishes you assemble from there fresh ingredients and the service is okay. The Staff was great ! Very friendly. When you walk in, you get hit by this massive funky smell that makes you want to run out but if you manage to survive this horrid smell, you will be met with even more disappointment. All the seafood feels like it's old(frozen and reheated), the dim sum taste like a hot dog, spicy chicken isn't even remotely spicy, their breaded fish and shrimp tastes like a breaded condom, and personally I couldn't finish my entire plate without having to defecate my butt butter. This place is very good. It has a lot of different things from a regular, every day chinese buffet. There is tons of seafood. Steamed fish, fried fish, fried shrimp, bacon wrapped shrimp, spicy shrimp, whole shrimp cold and hot, mussels, oysters, crab in clam shells, and CRAB LEGS. There are also a lot of other dishes like orange chicken, honey chicken, chicken on skewer, broccoli beef, egg rolls, pot stickers, chicken wings, quesadillas,spanikopita, garlic bread, a full salad bar with whole shrimp and squid, and a desert bar. Too numerous to name actually. I forgot to mention the sushi and the Mongolian BBQ. SERIOUSLY! Oh, and while I don't know the exact price, our ticket was $26 for two and one drink. Went with my cousin and a couple of friends, the food was really good but the one thing that bugged all of us was how we felt really discriminated on how the workers just kept looking at only us, I feel like it was because of the way we were dressed "affiliated if you will", I've gone there many times with my family and we always pay up front when we are finished, not this time. There were a decent amount of people eating. The chicken looked okay until we took a bite of what tasted like mosquito repellent. The place was dimly lit and had a "funky" smell. The waitress was nice but when asked she said she wouldn't eat at fugi buffet. It was much like what I would believe hell would be like.
