It is what it is. Fuji Buffet. It's conveniently located next to the new LA Fitness and Smart and Final Extra. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. They are busy and are properly managed. The kitchen crew does a good job. They keep the food area clean and replenish with hot dishes. I have tasted 1/4 of the items. I like the quality and freshness of the ingredients. The cooks are tasting the food. There is quality control here. There is something here for everyone. The past few months the parking lot has been packed and there are lines out the door. I had find out whats going on. I suggest having an early lunch 11am $8.99. Get there before the crowd. Or arrive for an early dinner 4pm $11.99. It is one of the best values in Oxnard. We came for the Sunday buffet which is a bit more expensive than the other days of the week and we absolutely loved it. There was a wide selection with chicken, fish and sushi dishes.. but no crab legs. There is a lot to choose from for a price of 17.99. You have to be realistic for what you're gonna get, this isn't a Vegas buffet. The service was quick and she always had our table cleared. The restaurant was extremely packed and loud. Worse expirence Ever!!! Worse cashier!!!! Lets start off by when we got there. Lines were crazy long. No directions on where was the food line and where to pay. First time there with my family. Cashier started yelling at us in front of a whole line of people, becase she said "we cut the line". She wasnt even helping anyone if the other people had been there. My boyfriend when to ask and she charged him for our family. If she knew a line was going wgy did ahe cgarge him in the first place. After this there was no way I would stay and eat there. I paid for my buffet as the register is located near the front. A lady tries to seat me in a table arrangement that looked like left over tables pushed to the side. Then a second guy comes over and ask if I had paid. I should have known not to walk in this ghetto of a chinese buffet. The only food item I liked was the crawfish. Others all tasted like heat lamp. This is our 2nd time at the Fuji Buffet within last 30 days; I did not write Review for last time, but after I read the latest one star reviews, I think I should write my experiences here to let others judge for themselves. First of all, it's not easy for small businesses to stay open during COVID, so many rules and regulations from County, with food prices going up, possible limited employees, etc, they had to make changes in order to survive. Yes, they removed some dishes, closed one food station, buy there were still plenty foods to choose from. We love seafoods, there were plenty of them, such as Fried Big Shrimps, Fried fish fillets, steamed fillets, Salmon, Clams, veggie w Shrimps, just to name a few. Hot foods were hot and tasty; and food trays were replenished rather quickly. When we were there, customer flows were constant, and whole restaurant was pretty full. If food was lousy, why so many people eating here? Plus, $14.59/pp for AYCE Dinner Buffet and Senior and Military get $1.00 off. I think is pretty good deals. I did see server asking next table customers for receipt, bcz receipt was not on the table. I think this is NORMAL practice; what if Cashier let her F&F eating for free? Just a hypothetical question. We put our receipt on the table when we sit down, no one bother us for it. Went for dinner after a concert at Channel Islands Harbor . The food was good plenty to choose from. One thing I liked is they had hand sanitizer on the table as you exit the area where you get your food. Since you are picking up your food with the same stuff the person and persons before them had their grubby hands on it was nice to be able to use it before eating . One thing that turned me off is every person working there was still wearing a FACE DIAPER. read more

um where do i start? i used to love this place but not anymore. will never come back again after going here for the past 5 YEARS. Due to Covid, this restaurant won't bring you all the good food that they used to make but will charge extra per person. Do not waste money here since they won't bring out food even when they have an hour left of opening hours but WILL accept customer @last minute. They gave me a refund due to them not able to bring out food for me and my family when we came, they even said "the kitchen is closed" after 5 mins of us going in for dinner and paying them $60.... Our waitress would have 5 stars, she was so friendly and kind. 3 stars, why? -food was constantly needing to be refilled(there were at least 3-5 empty trays every time I got up for food. -the chairs are super annoying. I didn't see a name tag but its the girl with bleach hair and another guy with a bowl haircut and wears glasses are very rude... the guy was rude to my father he asked to clean the table he said you have to wait. ok waited he he grab the receipt in a rude way and toss the straws.. seriously and you want to get a tip... hell no not with that attitude. The food at the restaurant was great. No complaints about it.... But they need to start hiring buffet monitoring staff members who can speak ENGLISH for better customer service. My daughter and I were starving for lunch. Saw this place on our way to military base and decided to pop in and give it a try, since it would be quick. We regret that decision! The food was disgusting. We tried so many different items and we were disappointed in all of them. Very limited options for an all u can eat. The few things they did have available lacked flavor. Another thing I notice was, the person who was making the sushi in the back was not wearing any gloves when he was making it. The food is great here. Everyone's experience is always different but the last 3 times I've came here has been pretty great during dinner. Also it's a buffet not a 4/5 star restaurant lol so if you're expecting for it to be like that you'll be disappointed. Fuji is one of the best Japanese arround, comparable to the Todai in Marina Del Rey; no need to go there anymore because Fuji is just too convenient from our place in Silverlake. Best time to go is dinner or weekends due to expanded menu items. Frankly, the sashimi is always great, wonderful sushi variety, soups, desserts, you name it, even ribs, fried chicken, pizza. The crayfish cajun style is awesome. The reason why dinner and weekends are best is because turnover is great, meaning food is continually being replenished and not sitting there getting stale. this place is a must, we go there at least twice a month. Me and my hittas were starving our balls off after copping some drip, and my monkey ass cousin suggests we go to this buffet we'd go when we were kids. At first I was excited because I used to enjoy this place when I was small but in reality I was bigger(fatter)back then so my fat ass would eat anything. Then we wait around thirty of the longest minutes of my life to get seated but we noticed that plants of booths weren't being used but they just weren't seating us there. We finally get seated and I order the horchata like the beaner I am and thought to my self "hmm horchata at an Asian restaurant, Interesting" so I get that and I realize it's the shitty one from the cartons you can get at Walmart, so far I'm not impressed. Then we get to the food and we see that the sushi bar and grill was closed and we were really disappointed since damn near everything was fried, and I mean everything besides the rock hard melon we had. The food was terrible, all chicken was fried and soaked your mouth in grease. Pizza was worse than my schools pizza and butterfly shrimp, my god that shrimp was greasier than a chicanos hair in the early 90's. But to be fair the gyoza was pretty good and the fries were a 7.3/10 they were pretty good too. Now for desert, I was ready to fill my self up with ice cream since the food was buns, and they ain't have nothing. They had jello which was super hard and the consistency of a gummy bear, the melon was as hard as an ice cube, and the cookies were store bought but were still trash, they managed to fuck up something they didn't even make. There are a lot of people saying they didn't like this place and I think it is simply that they expect too much from this type of place, like they think they are in Vegas or they are comparing buffet food against stand alone restaurants, which makes no sense. I went for lunch and found everything very good. Although it was a little hard to find because of the dumb signage on Channel Island Blvd. Prices were fantastic and the selection of foods were more than plenty. They had several big screen TVs so we could watch the Olympics from our table. Servers were very nice young women who cleared dishes quickly.
