Hot & Sour Soup

We don't have many all you can eat buffet options in Ventura County. This is one place in Ventura where my parents & I actually like going to for some basic ayce Chinese & Japanese food. The price isn't that bad either & comes with regular drinks. They offer seafood, sushi & have Mongolian grill type food. Chill place here. You pay when you walk in. Seat yourself, then grub till your pants are so tight that you can't breathe, jk lol... Just don't expect any table side service here. But, they sure are good about clearing your dirty dishes. Just grab a clean plate each time you go & get food.

I am mainly commenting on Beijing's togo option. Which is great if you have someone in your group who is a very picky or selective eater. I was able to get 2 boxes, and filled them with primarily their sushi maki rolls. I also picked up small amount of other items like green beans. Lunch is 6.99/ lb; dinner 8.99/lb. Sushi ended up being less than what you may get at decent grocery and tastes much fresher. This is my hack for this buffet! I wouldn't waste your weight with soups, etc. Beijing overall is on the smaller side for Chinese ayce buffets, but I think that makes it more manageable and easier to upkeep. I would like to return for full buffet dining, especially to try Mongolian grill station. The decor is modern and seems to be clean. The service I think is very functional but not friendly/ warm but that is expected at Chinese buffets. There are so few buffets left in our area, so def. recommendation!

You know a lot of things come to mind when it comes to buffets. This definitely isn't a Las Vegas upscale buffet. What it does offer is a very clean and maintained establishment, something that stands out to me from prior experiences from other buffets in the local area. You can see for yourself when you help yourself to the variety of foods. I really enjoy the Mongolian bbq station, it is simple and tasty. My favorite item available is the oysters. I know what some of you are thinking, but honestly these were fresh. This was my second time eating here and they are fresh and good to eat. I definitely recommend trying this place. It's the best buffet in the county in my opinion.

I went here for the first time a couple days ago and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought they had a good selection especially for someone who doesn't eat seafood. The food tasted fresh and good quality. The rice was buttery and well seasoned. The service was fine no complaints. The dessert selection was very small. The price was reasonable

I have seen a lot of mixed reviews of this buffet place. You will either like it or you won't but no in between. Speaking from my experience I enjoyed the buffet with my family. On the weekends they do charge dinner rates even for lunch. They do not have lots of options compared to other buffets but they do have enough options to satisfy. I do like that their prices come with drinks included and I also like the way they formatted the restaurant. It seems simple but classic and fits the restaurant. The food was good and have options from fried food to rolls to soups. They could expand their dessert section and add some toppings for the ice cream but that would be my only improvement. It does get busy especially on the weekends so keep that in mind as well.

This was our third visit since it opened and it is still a good Chinese buffet, especially for its price and location. We arrived around 6:30 pm on a Saturday evening to a full parking lot, but there were plenty of tables inside and we were seated quickly. The Mongolian BBQ moved very quickly and the chef was able to cook 4-5 separate plates at a time. The sushi and sashimi were cold and fresh. The crab was average at best, since the shells were tough to crack. The corn in the crawfish boil was sweet and on point. The hot and sour soup was surprisingly delicious, so good I had a second bowl. The desserts were okay, at least their ice cream machine was running. The restaurant seemed clean for a busy night and all plates and utensils were clean, too. I saw staff wiping the areas around the food very frequently. You really can't go wrong with $25.99 for all you can eat surf and turf. Tip: try to get your steaks cooked with some pink by asking the chef and tipping him. Get some A1 steak sauce near the ketchup pump.

A typical Asian buffet. Service was okay. Food and prices are reasonable. Usually crowded on weekends so plan your visit.

Drove into town from the dessert this evening and wanted Chinese. Checked out a few reviews and…read moreonly 2 places popped up that had at least 4 stars. After looking at menus and comparing we decided on Peking. Sure glad we did too! I have to say if you are ever in Ventura please give this place a try! First thing I noticed is this place is simple yet has a quality about it. I would bring a date here, rather maybe a second or third date. It's nice inside. Wait staff was amazing. Now to the good stuff! I ordered chicken chow fun and partner had Mushu pork and for the appetizer we ordered the paper wrapped chicken. The chicken hit the table first wrapped in tin foil. That didn't deter us at all. This was served with duck sauce and spicy mustard. The mustard was amazing but i love spice! Both were good but the mustard opened up my nasal passages and made me go wow!! Awesome! The two main dishes hit the table and we dug in. Both were great! Let me tell you how hard it is to find a good Chinese place that isn't swimming in soy and oil! This place seasoned correctly and was not greasy at all!! I will tell you this; if you like fast Chinese food like Panda Express and that is what you think of Chinese food then stay there. Here you'll get properly seasoned fair. Over all I recommend and when back in Ventura will visit again for sure! The pictures don't do this place justice.

Everything is flavorful without the greasiness. I like that they don't over season or drown their food in sauce so it seems healthier too. Welcoming staff and attentive service. They serve dim sum on the weekends so will have to come back to try that.

Old school Chinese restaurant…read more Booths, reasonably priced lunch specials that include soup, rice and a fortune cookie. Also, super hot tea in a pot to share, the Chinese year calendar placemats, big round tables for large parties (5+) and a backroom for even larger parties. Yolanda's downtown put in a separate little backroom when they remodeled, but hardly any other restaurants seem to have them anymore. Love the vibe, but if the food sucked we wouldn't go. And we go, we go a lot, we are regulars. FRESHEST vegetables, soft velveted chicken pieces, not hard tasteless rubber chicken, and served HOT, freshly made and quick. On the lunch special menu, I recommend the chicken with string beans that comes with a full flavored brown sauce or the milder chicken with vegetables with a colorless clear glaze, both with vegetables so fresh and perfectly cooked, they can restart a healthy habit eating week. Hub is a fan of the hot and sour soup that comes with the lunch specials. He says it's the best he's had, and he eats out almost everyday all over. Also he likes the hot mustard they have. I guess there's a difference and he says there's is authentic and the best. I get the egg flower, which is plainer and just what I want if tucking in for some hot cozy soup before chicken, rice and vegetables, both served piping hot. They used to serve an egg roll with the lunch special, but no more and the fried rice used to have vegetable squares in it, but now only soy sauce it seems, in case you haven't been here in a while and don't know. Last, the orange chicken is really good and used to be my usual lunch special, but it got knocked off that pedestal by the chicken and vegetables, which along with the chicken and string beans, is craveable.

I sat for a little bit while the server was clearing the table next to mine to seat another party. I wasn't given a menu until that party was seated and given their menu. Almost immediately after the older lady approached to take my order but since I hadn't had time to look it over I asked for a minute, but I did order hot tea. After a few minutes I was ready to order. At that time the older lady still haven't brought me the tea. The server went to take the order of the table next to me, even though they were seated later than me, and then came to take my order. There were two times the server used my table to put things down that she couldn't hold on to when serving the table behind me. One was the water pitcher (I didn't have any water) and the second time was an empty bowl. She would grab it afterwards but didn't say anything at all both times. I thought that was a bit odd. Prices have gone up. They no longer give the fried wanton crisp with the lunch special. Fried rice was mainly rice, although I did find two little specks of egg. The soup also didn't seem to have as much ingredients as before either. Another thing I noticed was the tip percentages listed on the receipt was after tax. Although the food still tasted good, I will only stick to doing takeout from here.

Portions are generous, but not "shareable" big for lunch. Great curry flavors. Not too spicy tho. It's a little in the expensive side - but that's the tax for being so conveniently close to everything. TOFU PANANG - Good. Not spicy at all. More rice would've been nice. CHICKEN PUMPKIN CURRY - Very Good. Tender pumpkin/squash pieces. SERVICE There were many to go and delivery orders today. We were given menus and the server (only one today) had to disappear to prep all of the dine out orders. We ordered, then they were gone again until drinks and food came together. INTERIORS I couldn't help notice all of the greasy cobwebs on the high ceilings and on some of the art. It's been here for a while - people like it, but you notice.
