Mushroom soup dumpling, scallion oil noodle
Helene C.

Since it's Chinese New Year, I felt like going for dumplings. I decided to try this place knowing they have vegetarian dishes. It's a Shanghainese chain. I ordered: Scallion oil noodles: Shanghai style soy sauce noodle. and Mushroom soup dumpling which comes in small or large size (6 or 10 pcs). The dumplings stick to the paper and they leak easily when you pick from the steamer. Sadly, they didn't have the soup inside. Still I was happy they had vegetarian dishes on the menu.

Great service, fast and attentive. The food was delicious! We enjoyed everything that we ordered!

Unassuming place on Maisonneuve street, close to Concordia metro. Thanks Fu Chun for the instagram contest and for the 50$, which enabled me to try different delicious dishes like the classic pork dumpling, fried pork and shrimp dumpling, wonton and the shanghai noodles. The dumplings and wontons were filled with alot of meat, takes 2-3 bites to eat!

Dumplings are great!

The hand pulled noodles here are so good. My partner and I got the small bowls (braised beef and lamb noodle soups), but the portions are HUGE. Highly recommend going for noodle style 6 (thickest, more chewy) or 4. We also got the pork and cabbage dumplings, which are super juicy. This meal was very filling; we could've done without the dumplings, but they're too good to pass up. Service was ok since only one person was handling most FOH procedures. Atmosphere was also fine. It was just really warm, even with the multiple fans running (open doors, no AC), but it was to be expected with the pots of noodles cooking in the front. Since everything is so tasty and affordable, we'll try to make a stop every time we visit :) (Having trouble uploading photos - check Google review) BRAISED BEEF SOUP NOODLE (S) - $13.99 CAD LAMB SOUP NOODLE (S) - $14.99 CAD PORK AND CABBAGE DUMPLINGS (15) - $11.99 CAD

The service was good. They took our order and brought out our food. A bowl of rice is not included with entrees. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, beef chow fun, and pan fried dumplings. Sweet and sour chicken was ok, the sauce was good, I just would've liked a tad less breading on the chicken. The noodles were what I expected with beef, bean sprouts and green onions. Pan fried dumplings were good and a nice side.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Simple eatery in Chinatown. Very…read moreefficient service. Tasty food. Cash only. The Long Version: My husband and I had dinner here and it was great. We got the deep fried pork wontons ($5), crispy shrimps ($17.95) and house noodles with beef ($15.95). The fried wontons were really crispy. The wonton wrappers were all blistery. My only complaint is that the amount of ground pork in each wonton was very little, but I guess considering the price, I guess it's to be expected. Luckily the house noodles with beef had a good amount of beef in it. The beef was lean and tender. The noodles were a good texture and there was also broccoli, Bok Choy, onions, cabbage and carrots in it. This was my favourite of the 3 dishes we had. The shrimps were tasty too, but I felt less bang for our buck since the portion was small. The shrimps were crispy and there was diced onions and bell peppers mixed in. There were chili flakes too, so it was a bit spicy. Service was really efficient. Our food came out in record time. They also gave us 2 refillable bottles of water and as soon as we emptied one, they swapped it out for a full one. As soon as we finished a dish, they removed the empty dish from the table. The restaurant is really small, so the servers had an easy view of all the tables. It was almost comical how efficient they were, lol. This place is popular. They seem to have a lot of regulars. Decor is casual. We had a great meal and would return. Review #72 (2025)

The space is cozy and very efficient, and despite the line, it moves fairly quickly. The open kitchen is right at the front, where you can watch a guy stretching fresh noodles by the window, which is fun to see. Once seated, ordering is super simple. They ask you three things: bowl size, noodle thickness, and spice level. We ordered three medium bowls and one large, and let me tell you, the large was ginormous. Portions are extremely generous. The noodles were perfectly cooked al dente, and the soup was light yet flavorful, not overly salty, which I really appreciated. Each bowl also came with a decent amount of thinly sliced beef shank, a whole marinated egg, and generous amount of scallions and cilantro. We also ordered the combo sets so we can try their appetizers too. My favorite was the spicy tofu strips. The chewy texture and bold flavor were excellent. My second favorite was the spicy cucumbers, which were slightly crunchy and salty, with garlic and chili peppers adding great depth. I usually prefer larger cucumber pieces for extra crunch, but these were still very enjoyable. The edamame with pickled greens was just okay compared to the others. Overall, my family and I really enjoyed this place and would definitely come back the next time we're in Montréal.

The restaurant is just across Rue Sherbrooke from the main entrance to McGill in a block of fancy offices. The space is the size of your first apartment. There are maybe eight tables but the space is shared so all seats are filled all the time from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. And the line goes out the door; don't be discouraged. The line moves quickly. The "host" hands you a menu and takes your order while you're waiting in line. And your food arrives almost as soon as you sit down. And it's tasty. I had "oil noodles" plus spicy cucumbers. My wife had noodles with beef in broth plus spicy shredded tofu. All four dishes were excellent. Seriously. There's a burly guy in the front window making the noodles, which includes loud slams as he stretches and pulls the dough. Did I mention that they must be selling at least as many take out orders as in house. Caution: what you get is actually one long noodle, maybe a meter long, so prepared to slurp and bite off the noodle. We both used napkins (serviettes to you Canadians) tucked in like bibs.

My favorite dish so far is the oil spilled noodles with beef. Super delicious chili oil noodles with a generous portion of beef. I've ordered it twice and I don't know if I'll be able to not order the next time. Last time I also ordered the stir fried sliced pork belly which was delicious and flavorful. Everything spicy was hot enough to notice, but not too spicy. The spicy beef noodle soup was good, but I'll probably try a different one next time. The first time I ordered we also got the non-spicy beef noodle soup which I actually liked a little better. Very simple broth (good for when you're sick) but still nicely done. Pan fried dumplings are perfectly cooked and have a good meat to wrapper ratio. My husband doesn't normally like pan fried because they dry out sometimes but he loves these. Cucumber salad also solid. Food comes well cooked and fast. Looking forward to ordering again in these cold upcoming months!

Something about hand pulled noodles always hit differently than other noodles. The spiced noodles had excellent flavour and every noodle was coated in the tomato sauce/chili oil. I didn't know you can adjust the spice level so it was a bit spicy for me, but tolerable. The beef noodle soup on the other hand was a lot lighter in flavour, soup was almost bland. Overall, great bowl of noodles with fair price to portion and definitely satisfies the cravings.

One important thing to note: this place is cash‑only, and there's an ATM right at the entrance. That was literally the first thing the employee told us when we walked in, which felt a bit off‑putting. The dumplings themselves were great, and we ordered beers to go with the meal. However, the payment experience was not good. He quoted the total as 70 CAD and told us that was 62 USD since we said we had USD. When we calculated it ourselves, it came out to 49 USD. After we pointed that out, he claimed the "foreign transaction fees go up and down with inflation," which didn't make sense. It felt like we were almost being overcharged. So we ended up getting CAD from the ATM machine outside and paid him, however, we didn't appreciate his dishonesty and felt like he was trying to scam us.
