Came for the fishball noodles, stayed for the fresh rice noodles instead. The noodles for the fishball noodles were on the harder side and could've used more sauce, but the rice noodles were pretty thin and soft, and surprisingly good amount of meat.

Simple rice rolls at this hole in the wall shop! It's cash only and it took about ten minutes to get the food. Tip is to get the pork rice rolls with all the sauce! My only wish is that there was more meat in the roll. It was a good price though so can't complain much. It's a good snack!

The shop is quite small, so you might walk right past it without realizing it's there. To find it more easily, just remember it's right next to Dunkin' and has a blue sign. The service is super nice and friendly, but it's a takeout-only spot, so keep in mind that you'll need to find a place to eat--unless you can't wait and just eat right there! We walked all the way to Tangram Mall to sit down, but by then, the food was already cold. When the server asks if you want sauce, make sure to get everything. If you like heat, ask for extra Sriracha; if you prefer something nutty and saucy, ask for more peanut butter sauce. I also grabbed a tea egg for just $1--an absolute steal and very tasty! It leans more sweet than savory, which reminded me of tea egg sweet soup. It's definitely worth the money and worth a try if you're already in Flushing.

Large Sized Curry Fish Ball Rice Rolls with Sweet Bean Sauce + Sesame Seeds + Peanut Sauce (no Sriracha though)

This small no-frills, hole-in-the-wall window booth has been around for years and years. Don't exactly know how many years if you ask me though. Just know that it has been around since forever. Almost everyone living in Flushing would know about Fu Yuan, just pull any local aside off the street to ask. Additionally, many food vloggers on IG/TikTok + YouTube have highlighted this spot as one of the Top 10 Cheap Eats to stop by for food crawls in Flushing. Few stores away from Tiger Sugar on Main Street. There're no seats anywhere, so you better stand while eating or just go to the nearest park & enjoy your treat. Great as a snack on its own or a quick breakfast/lunch/dinner item. They offer delivery service too. Before anything else, they'll only take cash as payment. Don't say I didn't warn you about this! Just look for the royal blue storefront and you shall get curry fish balls + congee + steamed rice rolls for lunch! Chinese auntie by the window booth politely takes all the customers' orders. Wait time to receive the food is about 15-20 mins as everything is freshly made to order. Sometimes, there's even a line of people during rush hours but mostly everyone just politely waits for his/her turn. And, who can say no to piping hot scrumptiousness? Definitely a very affordable and budget-friendly spot whenever you want to grab something quick + easy + not time consuming to eat while taking public transportation. It's a hidden gem and easy-to-miss spot if you're not looking carefully. Everything on the menu is under $10 plus there're even vegan options available. The rice rolls come in three different sizes: small, medium or large with various pricing. My personal favorites are the shrimp rice rolls and curry fish ball rice rolls with peanut sauce + sweet bean sauce + sesame seeds mixed in together. If you don't want something specific added or can't eat not even a little spiciness like sriracha, just make it clear & say so when ordering. The savory congees are flavorful and heartwarming on cold winter days. Definitely fills me up even if I think I might've a big appetite. Ordered the large-sized Curry Fish Ball Rice Rolls which is $8. This is my breakfast + lunch + dinner. Ends up to be an entire quart when it's finally my turn for pickup. Quickly walked home to start digging in. Love sinking my teeth into the Hong Kong styled curry fish balls one by one with a plastic fork. Something that's simple yet so comforting at the same time. Its curry sauce is thick and rich. The mixed-in sauces don't taste too heavy or too salty with the rice rolls but actually complement everything so well together like the distinctive flavor of century eggs in congees. Would definitely recommend Fu Yuan's tasty food to everyone who's reading this review right now!

Shrimp rice noodle roll

This place often has many people ordering. Many young people and non-Chinese too. Came to try it out. The food is budget-friendly. The auntie behind the counter is very friendly and provides utensils when someone requested more. Very clean and organized too. The shrimp rice noodle rolls are tasty. Very authentic and cheap. A good place to grab some small food on the go. Would constantly come back here for more.

This place is super popular on Tiktok so we thought we would stop by! Fresh rice rolls, porridge, and fish balls looked so delicious. We ended up getting 2 rice rolls and curry fish balls. Prices were cheap as well. The fresh shrimp rice roll was our favorite! We also got dried shrimp rice roll which was also really good but a close second. Curry fish balls were also great. Rice rolls were soft and shrimp was juicy. It reminded me of eating street food back in Hong Kong since it was so fresh and cheap. I would stop by here again if I come back!

High quality, low price rice rolls, beef stew, curry fish balls. Beef stew with rice roll (cheung fun) 10/10 The rice roll is perfect and soft, and the beef is super soft, and covered in amazing savory sauce. Crispy shrimp roll 9/10 This is a large dry shrimp roll but it absorbs sauce so dip it into any of the sauces or the beef stew for some incredible flavor Crispy char siu sauce rice roll 8/10 Dense and large rice roll with some crispy texture in the middle. The meat is thin and tender. Bbq pork with chives rice roll 8/10 Lots of flavor with pieces of BBQ pork and thin rice roll Watercress rice roll 7/10 Thin rice roll with lots of watercress but not a ton of flavor. Curry fish ball w/ rice roll (cheung fun) 7/10 The curry flavor is weak and the fish balls are basic

So tasty!

Absolutely amazing. You get such a large portion for a small price and they were flavorful and fresh. It was a little bit of a short wait, but well worth the time. Easy to order and pay.

Beef Rice Roll

The sauce was good. We ordered the beef one rice roll. The stall is small and easy to miss. There's not a dining space, though. But worth to try.

The rice noodles are smooth and delicate. There's a reason why this place is IG famous. The ladies taking the order were nice. It's just a kitchen window so you order and take out. There's nowhere to sit.

Top Shrimp Roll Bottom Beef Roll

Small place in Flushing that sold rice noodles, beef soup and soy milk. We went here to try the rice rolls. We got one beef and one shrimp. Three people manning the booth with limited space. It took some time for the order. I appreciate that they asked if I wanted the sauce separately. I prefer it separate. Most places put a lot on it and I prefer to taste the food not just the soy sauce. It was good. Tender rice rolls. Not a lot of filling but it's still fine. It comes in small, medium and large sizes. This was a medium on both for $5 each. I would go back to try their soups.

The best curry fish ball/rice noodles I have had outside of Hong Kong. The texture is so pillowy soft and the flavors are perfect -- the hoisin, peanut, soy sauce blend so harmoniously. The cheung fun alone is very solid but wish it had a higher meat ratio. The fish ball/noodle combo dish is where this place absolutely excels. Quick service and even though there is generally a line it goes by fast.

Rolled rice roll and fish balls (Large Size)

This quaint place located outside the flushing train station is a gem. They are open rlly early for breakfast and they offer a lot of choices. Also, they were super kind and quickly made our food. There's no seating here so we found another place to eat and the food was delicious. The large size is 8 dollars and it is so filling it could serve 2-3 ppl. Between me and my bf, we couldn't even finish it so we saved it for later. Tips: I would recommend asking for more hot sauce since peanut sauce and hoisin is heavier and the hot sauce's acidity cuts through.

Fishballs with extra peanut sauce.

Can I sit down to eat here?

It's a fancy food stand with just an ordering window and no seating at all

Is this place closed? I went yesterday and the space was empty

Located underneath the subway lines and is just a grill on the sidewalk, they have a little table/seating area and has a unique menu. I ordered the Tlayuda, which is like an Oaxacan pizza(?). Set on top of a large and crispy tortilla, it's coated with beans, cheese, tomatoes, avocado and an assortment of different meats like grilled steak, ground pork, and grilled pork. It was really tasty and I loved the crisp tortilla underneath. Definitely a dish to share because it's huuuuuge. Cash only!

I had read about Oaxacan tlayudas, large crisp tortillas coated with a layer of mashed black beans and sprinkled with savory toppings, while trip planning, and I was intrigued. I noticed the Sr. San Pablo cart advertising tlayudas when I was at Corona Plaza a few weeks ago, and prioritized a return visit. Since then, I've tried a steak taco and the combination meats tlayuda, and both were delicious. The steak taco had juicy and well-seasoned meat, a flavorful tortilla, and amazing spicy sauce. The tlayuda was large enough for 2-3 people to share. In addition to the large base tortilla and bean spread, the combination variety had chorizo, steak, and seasoned pork (the best) for the meats, stringy Oaxacan cheese, tomato, and avocado. There were red and green salsas and escabeche pickles available for garnishes. I would have liked a little lime to add some sparkle to all of the savory flavors. There are 4 small stools and a covered table next to the cart to sit and eat, but I can't imagine it'd be a fun experience in bad weather. Definitely check this place out.
