First time there, great experience other than getting my salad WITH my meal. 2nd time there, service was bad, got my salad AFTER I finished my meal! Today I requested my salad before my meal, barely got it before. She dropped our meal off and never saw her again. She was more concerned about writing the daily special perfectly on the board. We both needed drink refills, but she never came by again despite us leaving our empty glasses at the edge of the table to be seen. Will not back and will tell others to steer clear. read more

The best breakfast in belton, i had the chicken fried steak breakfast and it was one of the best I've had. My daughters pancakes were big and fluffy and she really liked them. My wife had the ham and egg sandwich and says its better then any fast food sandwich. read more

I heard good things about this place. All the waitresses seem like there on top of things. I ordered the Fry's breakfast. I was very specific about how I wanted my eggs. I hate runny whites. I jokingly told the waitress that it grossed me out. Well they came out super running to the point that the whites were clear. Nasty. :-) I showers it to her. She apologized and offered to replace them. I declined. I don't like to send food back. She said that was the 2nd complaint and that she would let the kitchen know. The person with me had the classic cheeseburger and it looked really good. read more

We have been here a few times and have enjoyed it. I don't have much to say about the place I remember the guy bussing tables was our best interaction with the staff. Super nice. read more

Came here to eat because food is good but parking lot can fit only like 10-15 cars and no where to park so we left

There's better places to go eat around town but if you'd never had fry's you should try it. I will probably not go back givin it is a little pricey for the quality of food but hey maybe you'll like it. My bun was burnt so that was very disappointing. To be honest it was more than disappointing, my heart was broken. I will probably never return but hey maybe they had a bad day. read more

This is hands down the best breakfast in this area. I got the everyday breakfast, eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and toast. Super great food and great service. Will definitely be back! read more

New to town and I gave this place three chances; results progressively worse each time. Food is often cold, service very sporadic, and they never seem to get the order right. I'm sure they are nice people, but FFS trying to enter an order correctly on their cell phones (yup, that's how they roll) is asking for mistakes. At least offer to remedy the mistake...nope, that didn't happen either. read more

Had their chipotle burger and asked for it well done, they served me a sloppy bloody burger!! I wanted to throw up after i took a bite out of it i just paid and left and went to b town burger instead. read more

This is our go to place for breakfast, but lunch is just as tasty! Food is delicious, staff is friendly, and we never wait to long. Small little homely restaurant read more

Food is phenomenal. I don't think I have had anything here I don't like. Service can be spotty. One time it will be great, next time just average. Don't let that keep you from trying Frys. Crepes are delicious!!! read more

Exactly what I wanted for breakfast. I got the combo meal which was eggs, bacon, sausage, string style hash browns, and two buttermilk pancakes. Coffee was delicious. Food arrived timely and perfectly cooked. I would be eating there every weekend if it were located in Austin. I don't know what the experience would be if it was busy though. read more

Waiting 30 minutes for waffles and eggs is ridiculous!! 3 other tables were served with 3 people first not busy at all!!

We've been coming to Fry's since we moved here five years ago. They changed management a year or two ago and things just aren't the same. You can't substitute anything, you can't get regular toast (who wants thick TEXAS toast with their breakfast??). I wanted to add a pancake and our waitress said "my boss is here so I probably can't even get that done"....I had to point out that they had individual pancakes on the menu. Is the "boss" that horrible? Needless to say, we've decided to find a new breakfast spot read more

This is a great breakfast stop! If you're looking for All American traditional grub then look no further. We tried several items from the breakfast menu: biscuits & gravy, eggs, bacon, and even the crispy chicken Caesar salad. Everything we tried was great and we even liked the coffee, we will definitely stop here next time we are in the area! read more

I really wanted to like this place. I love a good old school diner with classic American fare after church on Sunday. On the up side the food was really good. The floor is dirty. They seem to be understaffed which may account for the lack of cleanliness and the horrific service. Our server came for our drink order. I asked for water. She left and brought back water for everyone at the table without bothering to ask what anyone else wanted. Strange experience. It took her forever to come back for our food order after delivering a table full of waters. When she did come for the food order she typed it in on her phone which is just weird to have a cell phone out when you're working. She had a really hard time understanding what we ordered and we each had to repeat our order 2-3 times very slowly. The food took a reasonable amount of time to come out but I asked for water refills twice before we actually got a refill. We had to hunt her down for the check after promptly asking for the check as soon as we received the food. Went to pay and the man at the front tells me how much to pay without bothering with a check. The whole experience was odd and seemed very disorganized. Waiting tables just isn't rocket science and it required way more effort on my part than I'm willing to put forth a second time. It's a shame because I really liked the food. read more

After 3 visits hoping for better, it actually got worse. The service is horrible. The wait staff may or may not notice your arrival and even then, they completely ignore you after you get your food. (I hope your order was right, and you didn't want a refill on drinks.) The salad has never come before the meal and even came after on one trip. The food is decent, but its not worth the hassle of the bad service. The restaurant may look clean, however, you will smell like grease when you leave. Pros: Ok diner type food with a lot of variety. Entire menu served all day ($1 more for breakfast at lunch and vice versa) Cons: Bad service Late salad wretched smell after leaving Bad service read more

We had breakfast there & it was busy, but service was great & food was exactly what i wanted, sometimes difficult for my picky palate! Maybe i'm behind the times, but this was first time i'd had my order taken & entered on a phone using an app- pretty cool!! We will be going again soon! read more

I had a great American breakfast. Wait staff was friendly and attentuve. I had an egg white ham and cheese omlet, it came with crisp hash brown potatoes. I'm going back. read more

Enormous portions and great food. Service was mediocre, but not terrible. We will definitely go back.

Had lunch there yesterday for first time. Very unimpressed by outside appearance but have been noting lots of cars there so decided to give it a try. Much better decor inside. Promptly given menus and water after self seating. A little slow to take our order but made up for it with rapid delivery of food to table. My club sandwich was better than any I have had from the big delis . My son had chicken fried steak and said it was great His small salad was almost a meal alone. Price was very reasonable. I will go back. read more

Got an awesome surprise when stopping here when traveling from Austin to Dallas. Food was awesome and got service with a smile.. you don't get this in a larger town!! Just a hint.. order a half chicken fried steak.. they are huge!! Was awesome home cooked meal. Waitress was so sweet!! Totally recommend!! read more

When Fry's first opened, the prices, service & food was great! We ate there all of the time and recommended to everyone. However, the only reason we go there now, is because they are the only diner food in town, if you don't want pizza, fried chicken or Mexican Food they are your only option. If they had some competition, they would have to up there game. Their hamburgers & sandwiches use to come with sides, now sides, even chips, are $1.99 additional but hamburger and sandwich prices are the same if not more. What get's us the most is their no substitution policy, if you wont eat something that happens to come on the plate, it's just tough, they will leave it off, but will not substitute regardless if it is equal or lesser value. read more

This place is some of the best home cooking I've ever had. Clean, good prices and excellent service!

Mischarged based on what they wrote on the board and would not correct when it was brought to their attention. Didn't apologize. Green beans were great. Chicken fried steak was tasty but dry. Mashed potatoes and gravy were great. read more

The breakfast was great -- everything tastes fresh, and the waitress was friendly! Food arrived quickly. I'd definitely recommend to anyone in the area. read more

I came here with my family. We all ordered the sirloin tips. The waitress hardly spoke english and didn't understand basic questions (can we please get a steak knife, etc.). The salad was spring mix and no where on the menu did it say what was on it and that it was not just lettuce. Both me and my father ordered our meat medium rare but the meat was cooked well done. The onions were served essentially raw. The fries that my dad ordered were from frozen. The manager (or at least who i assume is the manager) said oh I'm sorry when we told her that the food was not right. Theres a sign that says the managers can not discount or refund food. Save your money. read more

The food here is mostly typical local diner fare for Texas. The food is good. I got one of the "signature plates" which was 2 crepes stuffed with eggs scrambled with spinach, mushrooms, onions, and jack cheese. The crepes were topped with cheese sauce. It was also supposed to be topped with diced tomatoes as well, but my serving didn't have any tomatoes. The crepes looked packaged, not made from scratch. The dish was rich and filling. The service was friendly and prompt. I went during a slow time--mid afternoon. The restaurant was very clean. Also, they have specials every day. read more

My husband and I ate at Fry's for the first time yesterday (Saturday noon) and found it a very good experience. The place was clean and looked good. We found the service to be fast and efficient. The waitress came around several times to ask about us and refill our drinks. I had the Shrimp Poboy and it was really good, big shrimp in a light batter, fries were also good. Hubby had the chicken fried steak and he also enjoyed that---I will have to try it to make sure, lol. It did come with gravy on top which is the norm but I would prefer it on the side. He also commented that the fries were good. We plan on trying the breakfast later this week as it is conveniently located across the street from our dog groomer. read more

The food was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken fried steak wish mashed potatoes, family members had chicken strips and a turkey sandwich which were all enjoyed. Service was absolutely terrible. So slow and we were never checked on while eating and never offered any refills. I don't think the waiters knew what they were doing. read more

I used to like this place when we first moved to Belton 2 years ago. Now they increased their prices a lot, changed their menu a bunch. My husband and I were craving fish fry/catfish. We went there about a month ago & it was awful!! I believe it was 13.99$ a plate with a few tiny pieces of catfish that were awful & 2 burnt hush puppies. It upset my stomach later. We also went maybe 3 months ago & it was not good that time either. Breakfast is pretty good. Over a year ago I really enjoyed the food. Now not so much. read more

food is always great, best chicken fried steak in town but service is always crumby. went for breakfast this morning and they took our drink order and brought us our drinks, our waitress then said she would be back even thou we were ready to order... we sat talking for about 20min then i noticed we still hadent ordered. someone had to leave the table and run down a waitress to get service. food came quickly after ordering but then waitress got lost again, she finally checked on use and ask if we needed anything, i had to point out to her that my drink was empty??? drink refills are a basic duty of wait staff and should be automatic, i shouldn't have to point it out. our waitress did not earn a tip thou i left one cause i hate to look like you know what. read more
