Omg the chicken fingers and the Cuban sandwich here. Fryers is pretty popular roadside cafe and I understand why. We got a to go order here after bowling and went with the Cuban sandwich, chicken fingers, an ice cream cone, and a side of pickles . Before I got home, I decided to try a few pickles and these homemade pickles were amazing so I had to know if the Cuban sandwich was gonna be pretty good. As a heads up the pork and the Cuban sandwich is actually barbecue pork so it's a little different than what you're usually expecting. As predicted it was. The fried chicken fingers were huge and very flavorful and fried to absolute perfection. I got the Kansas City barbecue as the dip, and I love the sweetness of that sauce. The fingers came with two sweet Hawaiian rolls which I can't comment to because the toddler stole them. So if you're driving down New Hampshire one of these days, please be sure to stop in.

Could have definitely been better. After driving past this location for years on my way to work, I had to stop. I brought a few family members for a Saturday lunch. When we first walked in, we thought we needed to wait to be seated. There were people working but we were basically ignored. Only one other family waiting for a take out order and one couple with a baby out at the tables. No one greeted us or told us what the procedure was. Not off to a good start. So we flagged someone working behind the counter and she finally told us that we have to order at the monitors on our own. Oh, great. That would have been helpful to know. Yes, there's an "order here" sign but we did not know whether that was for people doing take out. We placed our orders and waited by the front door. Again, no one told us we could just go sit down at the outside patio so we asked if we needed to wait for our food at the counter or will the food be brought to us. We sat down and enjoyed the outdoors while we waited for our food. It wasn't long. I can only comment on what I ordered. The fried chicken was touted as the best in Montgomery County. So I ordered the 1/4 chicken dark with fries and collards. The chicken was juicy on the inside but the skin was too hard. Fries were good and not soggy. A decent amount was given. Collards were okay but plain. There are other items that I would like to try now that I know how the process works. I would like this restaurant to stay because there have been other attempts and they have not stayed long. Areas for improvement: * Greet your customers when they enter. * Instruct them to use the monitors to order. * There was complimentary water but no one offered it. We thought we would have to buy a bottle while we were there. * There needs to be a chart of the spice level of the sauces. I am not conversant of all the bbq sauces out there and need help in this area. If helpful for anyone else, parking was plentiful. There is only outside seating. Not sure how the coming summer will deal with the heat. Service was extremely lacking. No one came to check on us but they also let us stay to chat for some time.

Mac 'n Cheese could be less runny by putting in the oven. Good flavor.

Appreciate having in the neighborhood. Chicken tenders are typically overcooked. Good flavor otherwise. Brussels sprouts are good, greens need something else not sure what but a bit bland for greens. Mac 'n Cheese is a bit runny, good flavor but could be thickened. Honey mustard is great! Shakes and custard are very good.

Is the chocolate snickers sundae in the room with us??

So I reviewed this Fryer's right after it opened the first time, but it looks like they removed all those reviews (because they weren't that great) when they coupled with Money Muscle. I really wanted to love this place. It's not as good as it could be. I'll save another food review for next time, though we came in an hour before closing for a sundae. There's no seating inside, though there's a bench for people to wait for their food and it was packed. I used the screen to order and then waited around for it. While my order didn't take very long, seemed like a lot of other people were waiting for their food. One of the aggravating things was that the servers would bring food over and place it on the take out shelf without calling out a name/number, so then the people inside would walk over to see if it was theirs. Okay. So I got the snickers sundae and I selected chocolate ice cream. I didn't get chocolate ice cream. I watched the server making this (thinking it wasn't mine) and it was clear that she only read the instructions on what went in the sundae, so she didn't see that I had selected chocolate for my order. While I love soft serve, the sauces weren't anything special, straight out of a tube. There was a fair amount of snickers, I'll give them that. With the chaos of the store, it's not like I was dying to stay in there and have them remake a sundae. All in all, not enthusiastic to try this place again.

Best fried chicken and ribs I've had in this state, maybe anywhere. Chicken skin was nice and crispy and seasoned well. The meat was juicy. Got some mambo sauce to dip it in. The ribs also knocked it out of the park. Highly recommended getting some Carolina sauce with them if you like some kick. I will definitely be back.

Nice spot I use to drive over often during the summer for other menu items so I decided to go for lunch today. I decided in the new year I'll try to support local businesses more for lunch. Taste The sandwich and wedges were ok. I'll admit I'm deep south southern so maybe I'm bias when it comes to barbeque. I ate all my sandwich but I didn't finish my wedges Definitely try it for yourself. Ambiance Nice, I like the new enclosed eating area. Customer Service I was greeted when I came in however it's a self service situation you put your order in on tablets and someone gives it to you when it ready. Not really a lot of interaction which isn't good or bad, sadly just typical way of business in modern times. Cost I ordered a barbeque sandwich, wedges and drink. which came to $21, in my opinion that's very pricey for a lunch sandwich (that was ok in taste). Most unfortunate it's close enough that I could be a regular lunch customer however most menu items were similar in price $12-$15 for a sandwich alone then $7 for added fries/wedges and a bottle drink isn't doable, for me. I asked a coworker and she agreed it's the cost that has her not going more often. It's a nice spot, clean, good location just pricey however It's definitely worth giving a shot.

The spicy dark fried chicken was really good, I'd give it 8/10. A lil too greasy but the flavor was strong in a good way. Not too spicy but good kick. Got a good tang to it. The skin is so crispy almost like they fried it twice. And the meat is juicy and holds the flavor from the seasoning well. The brisket was flavorful with good seasoning but not tender or juicy. The wedges also had good flavor but a lil too thick so not enough crisp. The service was quick, can order on a screen. Staff were friendly, working hard.

Saw this place on Instagram and decided to check it out. Young guy at the counter recommended the chicken sandwich. I took him up on his offer. We got the following, Fryers Fried Chicken Sandwich Cuban Panini Cornbread Collard Greens Fried Oreos The chicken sandwich was decent but could have used more flavor. The Cuban Panini was quite tasty. Collard greens were kinda bland. I could do without. The fried Oreos could be left there. Overall this isn't what I thought it would be. The outside seating area had heaters that weren't on and didn't work once turned on. This was a one and done for me.

We stopped to satisfy a massive sugar craving. I went with a sundae, and all was good. They definitely hook you up with A LOT of toppings; I kind of wish there was more ice cream rather than the massive amount of toppings. Unfortunately, we arrived maybe about 20 minutes before closing so I think the staff was bit preoccupied with cleaning for closing. I'm not saying that we were rushed or that the staff was rude, but you could tell the staff was ready to finish cleaning and to get out of Dodge. Since we visited for a quick dessert, I hope to visit again to try some of the food. The folks that were eating outside looked VERY content with their food.

What's not to like about Fryer's Roadside?? The absolute BEST fried chicken, ribs and especially cornbread north of South Carolina! But you can get your sauces from Kansas City, or North Carolina too!!

They're located on Georgia right next to Denizens, and It's kind of in the cut and hard to see (well it was for me). If you're coming in from East-West Highway (pro tip: don't if you're driving, the parking there is restricted and they tow) you have to walk down stairs between the 1830 building and Denizens to find it. They allow one party in the building at a time. My boys and I went in and the young man immediately asked if we were just using the restroom or also getting ice cream-- I doubt they have public restrooms but I was on a trot after 3 hours out-- and when he realized we were getting ice cream, he didn't allow anyone in until we came out of the bathroom, ordered and left. Very safe. Their ice cream is clean, delicious, and their flavors are unique. I tried honey lavender and It was SOOO good until the very end ( I ate a bit of lavender and didn't taste anything else til I was done). The boys' strawberry ice cream was delicious and NOT pink- we avoid red dyes so this was exactly what we were looking for. The sugar cones are just the right size for the small children and they don't overstuff the cones a la Brusters and Ben and Jerry's. These are just right in size and price for kids. They didn't have a "kids cone" option per se (but I didn't ask) we just did a single scoop. That's one thing I'd like- a cake cone (smaller) with a kid sized scoop. As ir was, I got a scoop and a half helping the 3 year old finish. The 6 year old inhaled it in 2 minutes so it's just about right! Overall it's close to home, easy to get to once you know it's there and had great service plus AWESOME ice cream. I cannot wait to try the ginger, coconut, and wild blueberry! Lo

Interested in some super premium ice cream (aka ultra premium at this business)? Super premium,…read morepremium, standard, and economy are marketing terms used by ice cream makers. The FDA rules (in general) for calling a frozen dairy product ice cream are: 1) it must have at least 10% dairy milkfat. 2) it must weigh at least 4.5 lbs per gallon. 3) the overrun cannot exceed 100%. Super means the ice cream has at least 15% milkfat and less than 50% overun. Each ice cream company has their own definition, but they are similar. Overrun is the percentage of air in the ice cream compared to the starting materials. E.g. If you start with 1 quart of ice cream ingredients and mix it until it expands to 2 quarts, you will have 100% overrun. More milkfat and less overrun makes ice cream thicker, richer, creamier, and smoother. So, my wife and I came here to try their super premium ice cream and sorbet. They have 17% milkfat in their ice cream. We sampled 5 items and bought 4. 1) Pumpkin milkshake It tasted like pumpkin pie with cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. No noticeable clove flavor, which was fine with me. It was thick, creamy, and rich while still being easy to drink through a straw. It had a smooth sweetness that was just right. A great milkshake if you love pumpkin pie! The pumpkin ice cream was smooth, rich, and creamy with a great pumpkin pie flavor. It was the best tasting out of the 5 we tried. That's why we picked it for the milkshake. 2) Peanut Butter It had a strong roasted peanut flavor with a moderate sweetness level. The flavor was excellent, but the texture was not right. The ice cream had ice crystals throughout, not just the surface. I hope this was a production error and not the norm. Iciness is not acceptable at $9.25 per pint. 3) Gingersnap It had finely crushed gingersnap cookies in it. It tasted like gingersnap cookies with a strong ginger flavor. It was smooth, rich, and creamy. There were 2 problems: it melted very quickly and the ginger flavor was too strong. Less ginger and a touch more molasses would have made it great tasting. Ironically, molasses makes ice cream softer and melt faster. My photo shows the amount of melting that occurred in less than a minute after scooping it out of the container. I can imagine the mess on a hot day while eating this from a cone. You have to eat this very quickly if you don't want to drink it. This is inconsiderate to the customer. 4) Mango sorbet This had a natural mango flavor with a good amount of sweetness, but not too much. There were bits of mango in it which added some tanginess. It was thick and smooth with no iciness. This was fruity and refreshing! The service was informative, helpful, and friendly. They let you sample as many as you like. There were only 12 flavors available on our visit. They usually have more, but supplies had not been delivered. There are 2 freezers with pints of ice cream and sorbet for sale. The store was clean. They had 7 tables with chairs and counter seating. There are no restrooms for customers. I found the sorbet to be one of the best around DC. Some of the ice cream was disappointing in either taste or texture. The iciness in the peanut butter ice cream was probably due to a mistake that was made during the production. They need to check each batch of ice cream before release. The incredibly rapid melting of the Gingersnap ice cream will turn people off. That's easily fixable. Taste is subjective. I just think it's better to have less ginger as opposed to more. The pumpkin ice cream was an excellent example of super premium ice cream. We will return to try other flavors and give the peanut butter ice cream another try.

Calling the selection good would be an understatement. Flavors and styles lined the walls, and they have even introduced seasonal spring drinks alongside their custards and Italian ice. I ordered a gelati, which came with two flavors and the option to add a warm brownie in the center. They also offer prepackaged pints to take home. The only item that could not be sampled was the not fried chicken, their iconic Shark Tank inspired creation shaped like a chicken leg, where the novelty lies more in the form than the flavor. Some flavors had intriguing names like Tiger Blood and Midnight Fantasy, and the staff were more than happy to explain each one in detail. *Midnight Fantasy: featured a chocolate base mixed with chunks of brookie. It leaned heavier with a slightly grainy texture from the cookie pieces, but the chocolate itself was not overly sweet. It worked best when paired with something lighter. The brookie itself was well balanced, with a fudgy brownie component and a cookie that had a snickerdoodle like quality. *Mango Italian Ice: had a clean, fruity flavor and a smooth texture. It was not overly icy and paired nicely with the custard on top. *Honey Milk: was my favorite of everything I tried. The honey flavor came through strongly, both in taste and aroma, while the milky richness added a smooth creaminess. It paired beautifully with the Italian ice and balanced the richness of the Midnight Fantasy. *Spring Break Soda: was an interesting take on a Sprite style drink, with kiwi syrup, blue raspberry syrup, grenadine, and cold foam. It definitely delivered a sugar rush. There was a tropical feel, but it may be best suited for those with a serious sweet tooth. There is likely something for everyone here, and the friendly service makes it easy to find your match.
