This was a great find after a yoga workout nearby. It was pretty quiet even on a weekend when we walked in, so we didn't feel bad pondering over their menu board for a long time. At first the green mango smoothie caught my eye, but they also posted a drink and smoothie special for the month. So when I saw this month was dragon fruit smoothie was chia pudding, I knew I had to get it! The drink was a beautiful bright pink from the dragon fruit. $7 for a medium size was not too bad. This is my second time here. The first time was random, but today was intentional! Fruittitude offers a variety of healthy goods as well as some yummy treats! Can't beat yummy goods, sweet staff and a great place to work! I grabbed a matcha slush with almond milk and boba. It was a sweet treat after a morning of auditions. Location is clean and welcoming and I like the variety of dishes available, and their many teas. Food itself seemed to be hit or miss, and I tossed half my wrap. The acai bowls were great, particularly the coconut option. There was one lone employee working in the morning and it took nearly an entire half hour to get our order. We didn't mind, but I wouldn't advise coming in a hurry, as several other reviews also mention long wait times. First timer here and it was delicious. I was disappointed that they ran out of boba but I guess that's what happens when you arrive an hour before closing. I got the Hawaiian Fruit Punch fruit smoothie and omg, SO GOOD! It does not taste like the cheap Hawaiian Fruit Punch juice that you can get from Walmart. It's made with fresh fruit and it tastes more on the pineapple sweet/sour side. It definitely tastes fresh and amazingly delicious and refreshing, especially after a day at the beach/cove. They have free WiFi and the location of this place is pretty peaceful so you can definitely stay, chill, work in here (but it isn't really a Starbucks feel as this place is a lot more bright and open doors). I ordered the avocado toast from here, and it was one of the worst avocado toasts I ever had. It had an ABUNDANT amount of pickled daikon on it, that I forgot there was even a pesto sauce on it. They may well call this a pickled daikon toast. $13 for this? There wasnt even an egg, or any option to get a protein. This past weekend I was selling my work at La Jolla Art and wine and REALLY wanted a boba all weekend. When my husband showed up on Sunday he went to get me one. He came back with two of the absolutely foulest bobas I've ever had. They were massively over sweetened. It tasted like drinking straight syrup. I really wanted that boba (and my husband felt bad returning the drinks) so I tried pouring out half of it and filling it up with water -- it was still overly sweet, and almost all of what we ordered went straight into the trash. I also suspect that there was some amount of dairy in the drink because of the emergency bathroom issues I had the rest of the afternoon. Really glad I didn't drink any more of it. Something got into your girl cuz I am all on the "acai bowl" bandwagon hype train or whatevuhs.....basially walking around downtown La Jolla and I legit stumbled into this place. Now, warning....I am very boujee when it comes to my smoothies. None of the smoothies stood out to me as one's I would get... however the bowls did have a girl hooked... They had me at "coconut acai bowl". That is the one I ordered and it does take around 5 minutes to make. Yes they go by very slow when you are hungry (almost like standing infront of the microwave waiting for it to beep kind of annoying) but I promise it's worth it. They are making that thang FRESH and right there infront of your own eyes...BAM! Nonetheless, this was a tasty bowl. I finally stopped into Fruittitude the other day looking for desserts. They offer mini cakes (which are pretty much bite size) for $1.95. If you check-in on Yelp you can get a free one if you buy two. The young guy helping me out was very friendly. He had just started so he wasn't as familiar with the dessert choices, but made sure to ask someone else working what they were. It would be nice if the dessert options were listed somewhere (either on menu or in the display case). The desserts themselves were pretty good and hit the spot for my husband and I after dinner. I didn't get any boba, but I'll definitely be back to try some along with their various teas. They have a patio out front (which I think is dog friendly) and they also have a punch card so make sure to ask for that if you'll be frequenting often. read more
