This is a great boba shop with friendly service and a good selection of teas, coffee drinks, and snacks. They offer deals on Yelp and their FiveStar program, and even have Happy Hour specials! I've fallen for all of them and find myself going here almost once a week. The reason for only 4 stars is that the quality isn't the best. I like my teas strong and flavorful. I go to a lot of boba places, and I've moved around a lot, so I have a good idea of the qualities I look for in my boba shops that I will consistently patronize. Fruitea Boba has many of them and I am so glad I found it. For starters, they don't have too large a menu, but a very good variety to satisfy people of different tastes; the places with overflowing menus just stress me out so this is perfect. They have sweetness levels and options between a green, jasmine, or black tea base for your flavored tea which I love! Many of their fruit teas are topped with butterfly pea tea, which gives them a beautiful blue/violet hue. Their fruit teas also have real fruit in them! The flavors are delicious, we love the kiwi lychee! Milk teas here are particularly wonderful because they have milk substitute like almond milk, which helps my poor lactose intolerant self. This is the first place that I've found where I can get thai green tea with almond milk. Thai green tea is my favorite thing in the world, and they make it strong here and it's STELLAR. The boba is soft, and I've even come in at night and gotten it warm and fresh. They also have grass jelly, which I have yet to try but intend to soon. The people working here are always so kind and helpful! It's a pleasure to walk into the cute little store, and I wish I had been here pre-covid to enjoy their couches, and apparently they make fresh brewed hot teas for two which would make for a delightful date when there's not a pandemic going on. Decided to get some boba before my friends and I drive back home to San Diego, after Round 1. This place is pretty cute. I've never been here before and I the Strawberry Matcha latte stood out to me, so I decided to order that. No boba or anything, just the straight up drink. It was....interesting. I couldn't really describe or pinpoint the flavor of it, and neither could my friend when she tasted it. It's kind of weird, but the more I drank, the more I started to be okay with it, until it tastes good towards the end. I'm not sure if I would order it again if I stop by this place during my travels. My one friend who tasted my drink ordered an Almond milk tea and it's tasted like any other kind from any other place, but it's good to know that it's a safe choice. They use non-dairy creamer in all their milk based drinks. For lattes, they add half and half on top. We were able to get just half and half without the non-dairy creamer. This along with decent boba earns their 2nd star, but the drinks were weak at best. Matcha latte - this is the palest matcha latte I've ever had, they definitely skimped on the matcha and thus leaving out the flavor of the drink. Strawberry latte - made with powder instead of puree or real strawberries. It tasted like watered down Nestquik. It was hard to decide because they were all so good. On the big day, the team (two assistants because of our large party size) came early to set up. I love, love the beautiful boba station setup. Their prices were reasonable, so we hired them as our boba bar vendor. We ordered jasmine milk tea (75% sweet), mango passion (50% sweet), and peachy lychee (50% sweet). All flavors were delicious! For catering, they cannot alter the sweetness at the event. You need to let them know in advance for any sugar changes. Everyone ended up loving the boba bar! One friend gave it 10000000/10, haha. I feel kind of bad leaving this review since the customer service was outstanding, but the boba tea I ordered here is some of the worst I've ever had. I ordered the coconut milk tea (off menu item) and was expecting this creamy, sweet, coconut infused milk tea but instead got an artificial tasting watered down mess. It didn't taste real or fruity at all. There was barely a hint of coconut flavor and the texture and consistency was very off putting. Imagine putting coconut powder with powered, non-dairy creamer and then mixing it with thin almond milk, and not putting enough ice in the drink so it's barely cold when you get it. I will on a positive note though, say that the boba was good. Nice and chewy, and cooked well. Wonderful deal with the buy two, get one free deal but I just wish drinks were up to par. There is so much competition nowadays with boba tea shops that flavors, textures, etc. have to be on point. If I could make small suggestions, I would recommend using house-made almond milk (like AlmondHaus) for a creamier texture for the milk teas and steer away from the artificial syrups and powders and lean more towards juices and fresh fruits (like Cha2o, Tastetea and Teaboteabo). read more

Been trying to watch how much boba tea I've been drinking, so for a Friday night was trying to find a place that sells good fruit tea. When I saw the Fruitea Boba sign after driving around the area near Round 1, I thought it would be perfect to quench my tea craving while also staying "healthy." Big mistake. However, I am very disappointed in the quality and taste of their fruit teas. Which is ironic because with this name for a tea shop, you would expect them to serve very good fruit teas. We ordered the: -Strawberry Guava: I tasted mostly strawberry with guava as an after taste. The flavor is made from syrup and there is no fresh fruit inside. The tea is brewed very weak so the drink ends up tasting like a Capri sun. -Milk tea (we got the buy two, get one free so decided to add in a milk tea last minute): Watery and again weak tea. Has little to no flavor besides the taste of milk. -Peachy Lychee: This is the one I was most looking forward too. The tea is again weak and not aromatic. There isn't a strong peach or lychee flavor. Just an overall flavor of syrup. Boba: Their boba is amazing though. The perfect qq texture. Not too hard and not too soft. It is sweetened. If only they had good drinks to pair with their delicious boba. They have an Instagram backdrop area. But the sign is really long so you get photos that either cut off the whole sign or if you get the whole sign in the photo, the composition is awkward. I got their regular "Milk Tea" with 75% sweet, and the moment I drank it, I realized that it was so watered down and honestly tasted like 50% water and 50% milk. My friend who got the recommended "Mango Passion" drink with boba with 100% sweet, yet it still tasted watered down - maybe 80% tea and like 20% water.
