DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! I brought my iphone in to have my cracked screen and broken speaker fixed. They fixed everything the same day, but within a week the speaker did not work and there were multiple other issues with the screen they replaced. I went back one week after I had everything "fixed" to have them actually fix it. The same man was working and asked me for a receipt, which they never gave me. I told him I didn't have one, but that I was just there a week earlier and had him "fix" my phone. He said he didn't remember me and refused to refund me or even fix the problems he failed to fix before and the additional problems he created with the screen. read more

Just walked out of Fruit Fixed, where Sylvia took my water damaged iPhone - that wouldn't even turn on, had all the red "water damage" tabs, and two other repair shops said it couldn't be fixed. Sylvia's a mad genius, and I couldn't be happier, because she took an irreparable phone seem brand new. She worked so quickly, whipped the phone apart - all those tiny screws - diagnosed the problem in minutes and gave me such a fair, fair price. I cracked the screen of my iPhone and brought it into Fruit Fixed since everyone I know raves about the service. I dropped my phone off around 5:30pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Initially the screen would be $185 with 30-45 minutes for the repair. I left my phone there, went down the street to grab dinner for about an hour to give them extra time, came back and was told that when they took the screen off, one of the fuses started to smoke. I waited in store for another 15-20 minutes and was told that to fix the fuse the tech need something he didn't have in the store that day. I left my phone overnight with a promise to update me via email the following day. I waited most of the day for an update. I decided to call and got another promise to update me by 5pm. 5pm came and went without an update. I called again later that night before closing and was told that I would get yet another call soon after opening which was delayed as well. The lack of communication, after numerous promises from multiple staff, has left a bad taste in my mouth. I understand that the fix may no longer be a simple screen replacement but more frequent communication would have been appreciated. After some emails and phone calls back and forth, we got everything squared away. In the end Fruit Fixed did get me back up and running, and with a warranty, for which I am grateful. I acknowledge the problem got complicated fast. Even though it was a little rocky at first, they did fix my phone and I appreciate their work. read more

Do not let your laptop stay here for a month. I took two MacBook pros here for repair in April. They said that the hard drive and battery needed to be replaced on one and they were not sure what was wrong with the other MacBook. They kept both for a month. Finally one was fixed. I paid $300 and they gave back both laptops. One appeared to work. The other did not even have the bottom screwed back on. Well after less than an hour of use the "repaired" laptop turned itself off again, which was the same problem it had when I took it to fruit-fixed a month earlier. I took the laptop back. They kept the laptop for another month. I called at the end of each week to get a status. They assured me each time that a part was being ordered and I would get a call back the next day. They never called back and each time I called they told me the part would be there the next day. Finally one month later they told me they could not fix the laptop and they were putting the hard drive into another laptop. I was fine with at least having a solution after two months. Then they called the next day and said they were replacing the logic board and that it would be an additional $100. Now $400 total. I asked why I was being charged when they had already changed me for a new battery and hard drive and they had kept the laptop for two months.They said the battery and the hard drive needed to be replaced anyway. Completely frustrated by this whole experience I did not pick up my laptop for some time. When I picked up my laptop I was given two laptops; the one I brought back and a different laptop that hopefully works. I am 100% sure that there was no need to replace the battery and hard drive since they just put the hard drive in a new laptop. Also since the laptop had the same problem after the hard dr and battery was replaced. I begrudgingly paid the $100 and took both laptops. Do not let your repair take a month. Ask for real answers. UPDATE: Spoke with Brandon. He apologized for the experience I had and refunded the $100 I paid the second time. Hopefully customers in the future will not have the same experience I had. For months the mute button on the side of my iPhone 6 hasn't moved to turn my ringer on or off. Verizon said sorry we can't fix that. I walked into Fixed Fruit and within 10 minutes these young men identified dirt was the culprit to my challenges. They were polite, attentive to the customers walking in & out, and very kind to tell me (aka lie to me) my phone was much cleaner than the others they work on! Two young college students who were fantastic representatives for this business and displayed the strong interpersonal & business skill sets their generation is being stereotyped as lacking. I live right in Carytown and have walked by this place many a times, but never stopped in. Man, I'm sure glad I did! Despite the fact that my phone was beyond repair, due my own stupidity (gals and guys-- watch out for treadmills, they can be cruel), Justin and Richard worked on my phone for ~2 hours. They weren't able to fix it, which wasn't surprising given the beating my phone had gone through, but they did their best to solve the problem. Best part, no charge! Rather than being upset about losing money and time, they were apologetic. This is rare nowadays for a company to feel sorry at the fact that it couldn't help you, even with no payment for their good deed. My iPhone 5S had a shattered screen from an accidental drop. I was referred to this place by my coworker, and was able to go after work. Thank you for having hours into the evening since a lot of us work well past 5:00PM. It's located in the same store front as the hair salon, Ceco. I didn't have anything to do so I waited right there. Both guys working were super nice and friendly. The one guy, we'll call him Captain, offered an iPad to use, but I declined. I wouldn't have minded a magazine since I didn't have my phone to look at while I waited, but no big deal at all. I don't know how many people actually sit there and wait instead of dropping it off. For me personally, I hate bulky phone covers and ones that block the color of the phone. The guy who worked on my phone was really nice too and so quick! He suggested a clear case that was very minimal looking, and I accepted. He also gave me a screen cover/protector thing and including the fixed screen, it was still such a great deal. Coming from a night of nearly shattering my phone and not being eligible for an upgrade, to get it fixed in less than 20 minutes was a great consolation! Great customer service. Reasonable prices; not only did I get my screen repaired, I also purchased their version of otterbox case and a tempered glass screen protector. The whole ordeal lasted less than an hour. I found these guys after having the same phone repaired at that shop on broad across from starbucks less than a month prior. They SUCK! It's been well over a month since my latest repair, and granted Ive added a little extra protection, none-the-less, the screen is still in excellent condition. These guys are really great! Helped me in half an hour with my iPhone 6s screen crack. Cost was $275 but with the Yelp check-in discount and another discount (don't remember what it was) my total was $240. Expensive because the iPhone 6s/6s Plus have 3D touch capabilities which means the screen is more expensive to purchase for the guys. Very honest guys, cool to talk to. They also have screen protectors and cases to buy in store if you're feeling like you need more protection. Don't help this guy make his boat payments. He lies and they do shoddy work on a regular basis. I was quoted 150 to buy an iPad that the said couldn't be repaired for less than 300. Thought about it for a week, came back, the offer was now 60. As I was sitting there, another customer came in complaining that the phone screen she had repaired kept popping off. They were dismissive, rude, and blamed her, wanted to charge 200 to fix it again. Seriously, find another option, these guys are totally dishonest. Update: reading other negative reviews, I see the owner claiming his repairs are warranted. Why then, with him in the shop, did his employees try to charge that lady 200 to redo a recent repair? Seriously, he takes no responsibility for his work and lies about his customers. Update to the update: So now he's saying they fixed her screen? I watched her walk out. He's offering me a quote now that has no connection to the conversation I had with his staff. He knows they won't talk to me, and is covering his ass here on Yelp. It is seriously worth not getting the money he's offering now just to never deal with that business again. I was just trying to recoup a little bit from the device. If the truth actually was in fact that the tech person was heading for a quote of 130, why was there absolutely no indication of that whatsoever? This is more dishonesty. I was angry because he was going to a lot of trouble to justify an offer of 60 dollars. THAT is what is was quoted, definitively and finally. There was no movement to a higher quote, definitely not one twice as high. If you can't take a bad review, sorry, but you're compounding it by lying. read more
