Visit Date: January 3, 2024…read more I came here with my family after we ate breakfast at the diner for my dad's birthday. I looked around at all the offerings and finally chose one of my usual favorites a linzer tart. When I ate it later in the day it was good but kind of dry. I don't know if that's the bakery's fault though in general these pastries are on the dry side. I also ate it much later in the day when it was less fresh instead of eating it right away so that could have been it too. I would come back to this bakery again!

TLDR; skip this horrible carvel and go to the East rockaway one…read more I've come here a few times and it just never goes well. This time really just destroyed any chance of me being back. This carvel always has either young teens working who don't care at all and don't know how to do anything, or the entire owners family working who also don't care. This time was the latter. Clearly the owners son and daughter were working while he was just sitting there watching them. The son, who had to be like 14, took the orders. He had no idea what was happening, he kept looking to his sister who wouldn't help him at all. He didn't know what any of the toppings were, it was just a disaster. Every time I go in here I try to get a fresh bonnet (I just don't like the frozen as much) and they tell me they are out of the bonnet sauce but that the ones in the freezer were just made. As someone who worked for carvel, they are just lying because they are too lazy to make it. Those cans are huge and lasted a month. It's just not possible they are always out. Usually I don't complain about hairs in food because humans are humans and it happens sometimes but pulling out a long hair of the ice cream right after all of this was just the cherry on top for me. They just don't care at all in there

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience. I paid $170 for a custom birthday cake, and the…read moreorder was taken directly by the store manager. We clearly agreed that the cake would match a reference photo, including specific colors and Spiderman eye decorations. The manager reviewed the image with me and allowed me to take a photo of her phone showing the exact design we agreed upon. When my husband arrived to pick up the cake--after the promised pickup time--the cake was brought out, but the manager quickly asked for it to be returned to the kitchen because it was not ready. At that point, it was clear the cake was also missing the agreed‑upon decorations. I spoke directly with the manager, who then denied ever agreeing to include the Spiderman eyes, despite having reviewed and approved the design earlier. Most concerning, my husband later observed the manager alter the photo on her phone, removing the decorations we had discussed. Additional requested decorations were also not put on the cake. It has now been weeks, and no one has followed up, despite being told the owner would contact me. For the price and the importance of the occasion, this level of disorganization, lack of accountability, and dishonesty is unacceptable. I expected professionalism, transparency, and follow‑through--and received none.
