My hubby had found this little gem last year and we decided to take a little trip this past…read moreweekend. Not a bad drive from mid-Queens, it was about 20-30 minutes out of our way. While on a corner on a pretty busy street, the location seemed slightly obscure. No parking - just 2 or 3 spots in front of the establishment. We came mid-day on a gloomy Sunday in February...so we didn't have an issue parking right in the front. We were greeted by the friendly associate. There were lots of great-looking gelato flavors which the associate also allowed us to sample first (very kind). She was very patient with us and really seemed to enjoy working there. We're BIG hazelnut enthusiasts, so we each had one scoop of hazelnut flavor and one of the Rocher (hazelnut) flavor. They also had an amazing fig and honey gelato flavors which was absolutely delicious. They offer 4 sizes - kids' size, and then the usual - small, medium and large. The small is 2 generous scoops - and that's what we went with. The overall experience didn't disappoint at all; we thoroughly enjoyed the treat, my hubby had an espresso coffee as well (very good) and we got a kids cup of vanilla for our pup. The prices were also decent and for this type of experience, I will gladly support a small business. I definitely recommend checking out this little gem. Will return once the weather get warmer!

The staff as well is great as well and friendly. Their gelato is delicious with various flavors. The coconut is my favorite! They also have cakes, sorbets, and coffees. Via Cuma - Sourdough Pizza & Cucina

I'm driving back from Maryland and I planned to stop at Via Cuma for lunch…read more I understand Via Cuma is a not by the slice pizza shop, it's more authentic with a personal size pizza. I parked across the street (make sure you feed the parking meter) and walked inside. I'm assuming it was the owner, I said I'm so hungry and was asked to grab any open table. The restaurant is cozy with multiple tables which can be adjusted to fit a large or small party. The owner comes over with an iPad, I just want a glass of wine with lunch. No bueno, I don't think they have a liquor license. I ordered a coke instead. This word is tripping me up, I know it's devilish, Diavola? I make the sign of the cross as I order this pizza. The owner explains this is his favorite pizza, I can see why. The Diavola Pizza is made with San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Hot Soppressata Salame from Calabria and topped with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese along with a drizzle of Olive Oil. This is a pizza that's more heavenly than devilish. There's some heat coming from various ingredients but it's welcomed. The sourdough is something that's interesting, I had this dough in Syosset last week. Is this a new trend? It brought the pizza to another level, there's more complexity with the imported ingredients. I also appreciated the cheese, I should have asked if it was made in-house. Via Cuma, great pizza the other day! Thanks for the Italian lesson on pronouncing Diavola

Via Cuma is cozy and well decorated with authentic Italian culture from the wall tiles to the scenic artwork. We decided to order the wings and fritto misto for appetizers. The wings came with a flavorful lemon pepper dipping sauce that had the perfect kick to it. We also got the Capricciosa pie. You can't go wrong with prosciutto and artichoke! Overall it was a great experience. Parking is tough so leave time to find a spot. We are excited for their second location to open.

Bundt Believe the Hype--These Cakes Are Everything…read more I don't even know where to begin other than this: Nothing Bundt Cakes makes some of the best cakes I've ever had. Truly. I am a chocolate and red velvet person through and through, and I don't play about my cake. Outside of a standout red velvet from a favorite Harlem bakery, these are hands-down some of my favorite cakes--period. The red velvet bundt cake? Incredible. Moist, rich, perfectly balanced, and that icing (I'm guessing cream cheese, but honestly, I don't even care what it is) is just chef's kiss. It's sweet, decadent, and exactly what you want when you're craving cake. And then... the Biscoff flavor. Listen. That cake was on another level. I had it during a seasonal run, and I'm still thinking about it. I actually liked it more than chocolate--and that says everything. It was that good. What really stands out to me is the consistency. I've had Nothing Bundt Cakes in different cities and states over the years, and it is always the same: soft, moist, flavorful, and just done right every single time. I was first introduced to them through birthday gifts (shoutout to the people who knew what they were doing!), and I instantly became a fan. I didn't even realize there was a location near me until recently, and when I found out there was one nearby, I was genuinely excited. I've been to this location twice now, and both times delivered exactly what I expected--amazing cake, great quality, and that same signature flavor I've come to love. Are they the cheapest? No. Are they worth it? Absolutely. If you love cake--real cake, good cake, great cake--go to Nothing Bundt Cakes. You will not be disappointed.
