I didnt like my cheesecake my uncle didnt like his pastami sandwich but my aunt did like her pineapple coconut cake. Customer service was nice I have nothing bad to say other then everyone had different taste buds.
After a horrible experience with a previous bakery that left me with no cake for an event in TWO DAYS. I was literally scrambling for a cake for my dad's surprise birthday party. I was about to give up when I stumbled across this bakery and they were very nice to accept our order especially since it's during the holidays. Melissa quoted us based on our design and when we went to try their slices to pick a flavor the cakes were so moist and tasty! Very much worth the money and I think they are more than fairly priced. The service in store was great as well, below is the cake they made for us and I can't stop raving about it to everyone. I hope they never change!
I get all my cakes from this bakery. The cakes are fresh and always so good! I love the dulce de leche filling. I usually email them with a picture of the cake that I want and they respond quickly. I highly recommend getting your cakes from here.
I have ordered from this bakery a few times and never disappointed. Communication is great and response timely. Back in 2019 I placed a custom order for my niece's 1st birthday with just a screenshot and they made it with and modifications. It was flawless and delicious. So many ppl asked about that cake and i don't gate-keep so of course i shared where it's from. Great little spot in Valley Stream
If you are looking for traditional Dominican cake, this is NOT the place. Dominican cakes have a meringue frosting NOT BUTTERCREAM. I walked in and asked for a Dominican cake with pineapple filling, when I got home and realized this, I was so disappointed, so were the guests.
I recently placed an order for my birthday cake. They were able to accommodate my request with only a week away. It was also not far from Hub's work place. He was able to pick up the cake after a short drive. It was also convenient to place the order via email or online without having to do it old-school via phone. My cake was inspired by the trending letter cakes. It seems to be all the rage now with tik tok and IG! I provided a photo of what I was looking and the decor details. They pretty much nailed the cake! It was a vanilla cake with guava and dulce de leche filling and white buttercream. The cake was decorated with macaroons, chocolate dipped strawberries, piped flowers (they don't do fresh flowers), and chocolate drip. As seen in comparison, the original had different color macaroons, fresh flowers, chocolate dipped strawberries, and caramel drip. However, the cake delivered had similar details. Hub had trouble lifting the cake as it was dense, tall, and heavier than expected, lol. The worker had to customize a box on the spot to fit the cake. If you are looking for a baker to match the same EXACT design, then they are not for you. They explicitly state on their order form and email that photos are only used for inspirational and design purpose. It will not match the exact color and detail. The cake was delicious!! Only the buttercream was a tad too sweet. The guava and dulce de leche was an amazing combination! I highly recommend it if you have a sweet tooth! My kids loved the macaroons and chocolate dipped strawberries as well. Pricing was also very reasonable compared to other bakeries. I'll make sure to order with them again for upcoming events!
Are you ready for the 411? Here we go...this is the simplicity wrapped up in ultimate cuteness. This bakery is adorable with its assortment of cakes and sweets. There is a variety of cakes, cupcakes and other goodies which taste amazing. The staff is courteous and offer wonderful customer service. Definitely recommend checking this little shop out to get satisfy your sweet tooth!
My friend usually gets her cakes from here and I must say it was very good. We tried the sampler cake for an upcoming birthday. I really enjoyed the strawberry cake with the strawberry filling but the frosting for me was too sweet. The customer service was amazing and I must say when it comes to making cake; that is very important. The bakery smelled so good and it was so beautifully organized.
Amazing! Melissa and her team are the best doing it here on Long Island! Get your orders in, you won't regret it! Yummy and beautiful and all of our guests were asking for the name of her sweet shoppe.
The customer service here is stellar and the group of young ladies that work the front are phenomenal. I've been to the location twice and was very impressed with the level of service I received. The space is bright and open with a beautiful cake display. I needed a cake for a last minute event and came here based on other reviews and it was one of the best decisions of my dessert seeking life! Imagine 3 pillow soft butter cake layers held together by dulce de leche filling on one level and guava filling on the other.. it's their most popular cake and I can taste and see why! Absolutely delicious and was a hit! I declare that my contribution to all future potlucks, parties and social events will be the guava+ dulce de leche cake from here! I wasn't able to get a picture of the cake before it was sliced but we all know that true beauty is on the inside... and I've attached a picture of a BEAUTIFUL slice P.S. Try the coconut cupcake! Chrissy Bee reporting live for the foodie in you!
Omg sooooo good! Can't wait to bring my 3 yr old so she can pick out some random sweets for a mommy and me date. I had the Guava and dulce de leche cake. It was a hit for my husband's bday
Went into this local bakery last minute as I needed to find a cake for a get together I was having I walked in to seeing a very nice display of cakes as well as cupcakes A few people were ahead of me so while I waited I was able to look at their available cakes. They only had 8" ready made cakes available and I really only needed a 6" one, so when I got to the counter I did ask the nice woman if they had any 6" ready made cakes She told me that she could bring me out one from the back that was 6" but they only have chocolate I didn't want chocolate so I told her I would pick one from up front I picked the guava filling one with a pretty peach frosting and a coconut and rainbow sprinkle cupcake All I can say it the cake was a hit by all who had a slice! Very moist cake but not too dense and the frosting was not too sweet The guava filling was not overpowering I'm looking forward to ordering a custom cake from them in the near future Oh! We loved the cu
This is one of my favorite local bakeries. I've been coming here for years at least since about 2014. Their dulce de Leche cake is my absolute favorite. If you're looking for a sweet treat their cupcakes or slices will not disappoint you. I love that you can place an order for a custom cake or they have ones ready to go! Service is typically nice. I love the option of ordering online and picking up in store as well. read more

The presentation of the cake was absolutely beautiful and exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The cake itself did not taste good at all. I ordered a vanilla cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream filling, but the filling was extremely minimal--barely there. The cake was also very dry and not moist whatsoever. This cake was for a special occasion honoring my mother, and she actually described it as "disgusting," which was incredibly embarrassing given the event. While the bakery clearly excels at appearance, the taste and quality did not match the presentation. I was very disappointed. read more

Their owner Bianca was disappointingly rude and inconsiderate in addressing a concern about my family's cake order. In the attached pictures, you can see what we received was not what we asked for. Along with the incorrect design, her dismissive tone and poor customer service toward my family was truly disgusting. There was no apology nor offer to make up the mistake. My family has ordered from Sugar Shop multiple times for our events and now we, nor our colleagues and friends, will no longer do so solely because of her attitude and mishandling of the situation. It is very unfortunate. read more

The little sugar shop made my son's 1st birthday cake! I didn't have a picture of the drip cake that was made, because it was SO delicious that it was gobbled up so fast! Everyone was very pleasant and prices were affordable. We were very lucky to have the little sugar shop make our son's 1st birthday extra special! The below picture is of the Oreo cupcake to match the drip cake, my son throughly enjoyed his sweets that night! read more

First let me start off by saying.... I Love Cake! Now, This is probably the best bakery with the best cakes I've ever had. I was first introduced to this bakery when someone bought me a slice of their pound cake. Whaaaaaaaaaat!!!!!! The cake was so fresh, moist and DELICIOUS. I'm usually in the area of this bakery so I would often buy the pound cake and cupcakes from time to time. But this time I bought a birthday cake for a small gathering. The staff was super friendly and helpful and helped me design the cake I wanted. This cake exceeded my expectation. Delicious!!! I never thought Vanilla Cake with raspberry filling could taste soooooo good!!!! The cake was decorated so beautifully. You can tell the pastry chef and staff love what they do. It shows. In the presentation and the taste. I will definitely get all my cakes from them from now. read more

I discovered Little Sugar Shop on Yelp when I was on the prowl for a bakery to prepare the cake for my sisters gender reveal. Definitely went out on a whim with this because I usually do not try bakeries that weren't referred to by someone I actually knew. I placed the order about a week or two in advance and submitted the payment then via CashApp. I ordered a Vanilla Custard & Strawberry cake. The cake was huge and delicious. Everyone at the gender reveal enjoyed. I would use this bakery again. read more

We were looking for a Dominican cake for our wedding in Long Island and this shop popped up on Google. I e-mailed them and they said they had a cake tasting kit! They had one ready for us the next day and all the cakes tasted soo good, but my husband and I ultimately went with the Dominican style cake with guava and dulce de leche! They are very professional and very timely in their communication, which was done all through e-mail. The day of the wedding, the cake was delivered and tasted amazing. I am removing one star, only because our wedding was a Sunday and they let us know very close to the date, that they don't typically deliver cakes on Sundays and that we might have to pick it up. After we explained, we didn't have anyone to do this, they found a delivery guy to set up the cake. Otherwise, I recommend going with this shop, if you want tasty cake for your wedding. read more

When it came time to order a cake for my sons first birthday I had an idea of what I wanted, but wasn't sure where to go. I did a quick yelp search and was soon on my way to the little sugar shop! They didn't disappoint! I order a two tier (vanilla filled with cookies and cream, red velvet with cream cheese icing filling) frosted with butter cream and a multi color drip design. I showed them a picture for reference because I'm terrible at explaining what I really want. When I came to pick the cake up it was better than I imagined! It was perfect! They boxed it up and help me get it to my car. Everyone at the party loved it and it tasted great. I will be coming back next time I need a cake! read more

I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday, Sesame Street themed. I was scared of the outcome because I had the idea of what I wanted in my head so I had to screenshot some different cake ideas for them and hope they made it happen. They made it happen and I couldn't be more happy. I also had a request to have the entire cake made of buttercream , minus the designs of course as I really hate fondant. They had no problem with my request and the guests loved the cake. There was barely any left and I had a 3 teired cake for 65 people. Top layer had vanilla cake with strawberry jelly. Middle was vanilla cake with cookies and cream. Bottom was vanilla cake with guava cream and guava jelly. My favorite was the guava. Would recommend to anyone. This place was well priced for the delicious cake. One thing that is highly recommended is leave the cake out for an hour or 2 before serving. Cake was moist and soft. If you serve right away from the fridge you will think that the cake is dry so fair warning. read more

I ordered a birthday cake from them and was not disappointed! They didn't have lemon flavor even though it's listed on their website so went with the vanilla which was still good. As of right now you can only email them for custom cakes, and that process was easy. Cake served more than I needed and tasted better than I imagined. This cake was 50$ but for the taste and amount of servings was worth it. Will definitely order again. read more

I ordered online where they had a picture of the cake. The cake was not consistent with their website. It's hard to understand how they could mess up a cake that they are advertising. Really disappointing! read more
